Richard Ashton. From "Its an Ashton". He is a self proclaimed "prop builder" who hates it when the Celestial Toystore makes unlicensed sonics. At least CT make good unlicensed sonics....
To be honest it's a nice idea on paper, with the electronics. if it had worked i reckon it wouldve been much nicer. plus a cheaper price. 5:02 best bit

I could go at the CO toy with a chisel and blowtorch and it still wouldn't look as bad as this allegedly (almost certainly not) tampered-with "replica".
that's tampered, the paint looks like it was scratched or scrapped off, the button should've been secured in place and the core of it being secured to where you can't get to batteries is a big clue that it was tampered with cause you should be able to get to batteries on anything to change them out
I'd expect an image of this to come from a discord server with a caption reading _Hey Guyz, this is one of my first SERIOUS attempts building a sonic, what do y'all think?_ Which would be fine, brilliant actually! t's great to have a hobby. But why would you try and sell this for 200 quid?
I think the CO 12th Doctor's sonic is the closest they have gotten to perfectly replicating a Prop from the show. You know if you don't count the War Doctor's Sonic

Yeah, so, for those who are unaware of the truth behind this particular prop replica: This was made by It's an Ashton as part of a small run he did for cosplayers who wanted the new Sonic - Ashton was quick off the mark in producing these, it was not long after the actual prop had been seen on-screen for the first time and neither Rubbertoe Replicas version nor the Character Options toy had been announced at that point. This particular Sonic was purchased by John Paul Gervais ('Doctor Disco') and was subsequently tampered with by him to make it look shoddy. This was done deliberately to smear Ashton's work, as Gervais is in cahoots with 'The Celestial Toystore', a much despised, arrogant little man with an inferiority complex who produces unlicenced replica props. Celestial was banned from the RPF for his behaviour, business practices and general bad attitude but he has a small following who suck up to him and do his bidding, lest they get on his bad side. Gervais is one of Celestial's 'main guys' despite the fact that he can't help giving plans away all the time. Ashton found out about the plan to do a bad review of this Sonic and outed it on Facebook - this review turned up much, much later. Celestial was jealous that Ashton was doing the Twelve Sonics and that Rubbertoe Replicas (who actually designed and built the prop for the show) didn't mind him doing it. Celestial has been flaunting BBC copyrights for years, with his 'don't give a shit, they can't touch me' attitude but although Rubbertoe have built props for the show from the BBC's designs and licenced replicas of same, this is the first Sonic that Rubbertoe *actually designed* and therefore Celestial doesn't dare rip it off. Ashton only ever intended his Sonic's as a quick, low-cost cosplay accessory and this is why Rubbertoe allowed him to do it. The reason why Ashton did not get back to Stephen is simple and not at all suspicious - he'd stopped making them by that point, simply because the CO toy was then available. Ashton moved onto other things - his work can be seen on the 'It's an Ashton' Facebook page and it speaks for itself. Rubbertoe are professional, courteous, actually build props for the show, and their replicas are officially licenced...but here on VoteSaxon's YT they will always be 'beaten' in reviews by Celestial Toystore's 'Parts made on the cheap in China, assembled by me and sold for a fortune' Sonics because Stephen, like so many people, is scared of making an online enemy of Celestial Toystore. CT's aren't better - it's just he'll cause so much shit for anyone who dares say otherwise. inb4 this comment is deleted.
AtrocityEquine Yeah, he's been quiet of late though. I think his sales have dropped off (he's had discount offers going regularly over the past year) and he's keeping a low profile. The account I gave of this Sonic's history is the truth - to be fair, Stephen even admits in the video that he got the Sonic second-hand, that instantly casts doubt on any claims of 'This is how they look fresh from Ashton'. As I said, the hatchet-job review of Ashton's Sonic was planned long before this video was posted; the only reason Gervais (the original owner) didn't do it himself when planned is because Ashton caught wind of it and posted about it on Facebook. Gervais is fucking clown shoes; he's one of CT's most brown-nosed followers but keeps fucking things up for him. CT was trying to get my home address a while back and Gervais managed to set my 'spider sense' off as it were , I knew something was up so I gave a decoy address :D CT is a very angry and insecure little man, hiding behind fake profiles and a small bunch of sycophantic followers...his temper though is why his Sonics always 'win' in review videos. Rubbertoe doesn't rant about how good his props are, rubbish others and throw a shitfit if a customer has an issue - he just makes the best damn props he can and the work speaks for itself. CT will *always* be in Rubbertoe's shadow and he knows it.
Rob C Just wow.. TBH I felt CT was an arse hole when people complained about his ego on some of Stephan's videos before the Copyright lords ruined everything and C.T. would respond to those criticisms with such immaturity. Also all of this for REPLICAS, Holy fuck.
There seems to be a lot of people online agreeing on the poor quality of these replicas in general. At the same time though, posts from customers on Ashton's facebook page show replica 12th sonics that have a much better paint job. So I dunno. Hopefully Ashton will chime in with his side, show off photos of untampered models or maybe just hold up his hands and say, "Yeah I dropped the ball on this one. Sorry. Better version coming soon".
Do you have proof this is tampered with? As I looked at the other sonics and they show the same features. There isn't one thing tampered on this sonic. If you have photographic proof I'd(as well as the rest of the community) would love to see it. But oddly enough, no one else will post up close shots of theirs. Funny huh? Also to add on that note, it's extremely ODD that he stopped making these as soon as Stephen got his hands on one. He did say he was going to send one but never did. The things that make you go "HMMM".
If it was a tenth of the price it would have been okay back before the character options version as a cosplay accessory. As there is no official dark eyes sonic I can imagine his new product filling that sort of role. Why didn't he adapt all those redundant Matt Smith sonics into TCEs there is no official toy there and no prospect of one. The paint job would be less complicated too.
Send your hard earned pounds to Mr. Ashton and buy one then. Oh wait, you can't because he stopped making them when Stephen got his hands on one. How interesting...

It looks like a giant sized version of one for the 5" figures

ya it's worse then cardboard
wait... someone is able to buy this in a store?? this looks like a senior school project
Nope. When Ashton figured out that Stephen got his hand on one he stopped production. Good luck getting one now.
