Good day! I'm from the Philippines, the ordinary was introduced by my sister in law. I use the same product as well as I do the routine you did in this video. Its been like 1yr and how many months since I used the product. It really helped my skin look brighter and less breakouts also it even makes the scar look less visible. ☺️ Thank you for this information and the video about fake and what not differences help me a lot in comparing. It really is difficult to buy an original product. ☺️
just purchased those two exact products and i saw many opinions over laying glycholic acid and niacinamide together and honestly very confused as i thought i could layer them in the same routine :( then i saw your video and really what a lifesaver, thank you for all the information you shared they really helped !!
Well, yes, it's safe to do so. Not sure why they are telling this, but I saw that too, and that's why I recorded the video. Thank you so much for all your videos. I have been trying to find videos of people actually showing how to use and what not to use with what. Keep up these fantastic videos.
Thank you so much Melissa for explaining the order of using skin care products. I use The Ordinary products but was confused in which order to use them so your videos have very helpful 😊
Hi Melissa! I’m a new subscriber as well as a newbie to skincare. I already have a cleanser and moisturizer so I was looking to add these exact two products to my routine. I’m laughing, it’s like you know exactly what people would like a video on. Thanks so much for simple, educational and reassuring videos! I greatly appreciate your efforts.
Thanks for sharing this video. Ur videos help me a lot. I learned how to layer my skin care routine and what I should apply in morning and night routines.
Hey! My routine is: Am Cerave blemish control cleanser Aloe Vera gel (holika holika) Bulldog moisturizer oil control with witch hazel Sunscreen Pm Gentle cleanser Glycolic acid toner Niacinamide serum Aloe Vera gel (holika holika) The same moisturizer I have acne prone skin with blackheads and combination skin! Is this a good routine?
I would do this: AM Routine: CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser Sunscreen (if going outdoors) PM Routine: Gentle Cleanser (choose one that suits your skin type - for dry skin, use a cleanser formulated for dry skin; for oily skin, choose one for oily skin). Glycolic Acid Toner (apply and wait a few minutes before the next step). Niacinamide Serum. Aloe Vera Gel.
Its my first time to use the glycolic acid 7% hopefully it will work for me. As i am already using ordinary the niacinamide for my daily routine and the buffet peptide i use it when Im using my Mesotheraphy electroporation RF skin rejuvenating device.
Hey! :) Please do not use Glycolic Acid and Buffet + Copper Peptides in the same routine, keep them separate. Buffet + Copper Peptides (and all the other Ordinary Peptide serums) conflict with AHA and BHA (exfoliating acids) and Vitamin C. So you can use Buffet + Copper Peptides and Niacinamide in the same routine and/or Glycolic Acid and Niacinamide.
I am glad that I found this video. I concluded that I shouldn’t be using glycolic on my skin... I have acne prone - blackhead skin and I have a tingling and uncomfortable burning sensation after I use it. Are there any other toners I can try?
The Glycolic Acid is an exfoliator. It's very confusing even though they say toning solution. You can try Lactic Acid 5% or Salicylic Acid(in case you have oily skin) I also recommend reading these articles: www.paulaschoice.de/en/all-about-exfoliants www.paulaschoice.de/en/the-difference-between-aha-and-bha-exfoliants Hydroxy Acids: imgur.com/o28ez9X Salicylic Acid: imgur.com/tOOPHgS Here are some toners from Paula's Choice: www.paulaschoice.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-paulaschoice_us-Site/en_US/Search-Show?q=toner And an article if you need it: www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/skincare-advice/paulas-choice-product-tips/why-you-need-a-toner.html
I use these 2 for my evening routine... I have problems with acne on my forehead and these 2 are amazing!!! My face is getting better... thank you Melissa ❤️❤️❤️
Can I use these in the following order: Face cleanser (Purity) Toner (Ordinary Glycolic Toner) Niacinamide (Ordinary) Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer (contains salicylic acid) I have rosacea/red prone skin and a propensity for nose blackheads and the occasional deep forehead pimple.
Yes, that's fine! How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Some people do well exfoliating with AHA or BHA twice a day, whereas others find that once a day or every other day is a perfect balance. Test to see what works best for your skin. It’s fine to use both types of exfoliants (AHA and BHA) as part of your skin care routine - you can use them at the same time, alternate days of usage, or use one in the morning and one at night, depending on your preference.
I'm a Black man. I just got out of the shower and I washed my face with La roche-posay toleriane hydrating gentle cleanser for normal to dry skin. After I dry my skin I'm at applied the ordinary glycolic acid 7% toning solution pH 3.6. My question is should I apply Olay Regenerist retinol 24 night moisturizer or should I just go to bed without the Olay Regenerist retinol 24 night moisturizer? Can the Ordinary and Olay be used one after the other? Can you please elaborate and educate me please. Thank you
Hello John, Technically it would help if you did not use the AHA (Glycolic Acid) with your retinol serum, as this can lead to irritation. Usually, it is fine initially, but your skin can become sensitive after a while. So my advice is to alternate days. Example: Monday: Cleanse Glycolic Acid Moisturizer suitable for your normal to dry skin (No retinol, no Exfoliating acids) e.g. Paula's Choice Omega + Moisturizer Tuesday Cleanse Olay Regenerist retinol 24-night moisturizer Wednesday: Cleanse Glycolic Acid Moisturizer suitable for your normal to dry skin (No retinol, no Exfoliating acids) e.g. Paula's Choice Omega + Moisturizer Etc. of course, you need to adjust the frequency accordingly to the changing needs of your skin, but that would be a great start :)
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you for enlightening me. You've been very helpful. So are you saying that Paula's Choice is a better product than the ordinary glycolic liquid that I'm using?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I'm getting the feeling that the Olay Regenerist 24 night lotion that I'm using is the same as the ordinary 7% toning liquid? do they both act as exfoliant?
No, all I'm saying is that I recommend not using your Glycolic Acid and Retinol Moisturizer in the same routine. Alternate between them in your evening routine. Use a non-Retinol moisturizer after your Glycolic Acid such as Paula's Choice Omega moisturizer, however, this can also be a different one. Glycolic Acid helps to loosen the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin while Retinol helps to speed up the cell turnover and also leads to a 'sort of' exfoliating part, but they work differently.
🙃 It's one TH-cam, and I am uploading it daily. So that's my routine..🤪 The products that I show on a daily base are the once that I am using. So it changes every day. 😞 Also, I prerecord the videos, so the video from today was recorded two days ago. ;) But I can talk about my favorites soon, yes, definitely a good idea. There is so much to cover... 🙈
No, they are not. They only work on the surface of the skin, so they will not be very effective for controlling oiliness or reducing the appearance of enlarged pores unless there is a significant buildup of dead skin cells. Unfortunately, they are also not effective for blackheads that are already present since they cannot penetrate deeply enough to have an impact. However, it should be noted that there is no proper testing available to confirm their effectiveness in this regard.
Hey, I got glycolic acid, niacinamide and salicylic acid, all from the ordinary, I have acne prone skin and got off accutane just 2 months ago, can you tell me the routine I should follow
Avoid using glycolic acid and salicylic acid in the same routine. Use both in the evening but on different days, and monitor the frequency to avoid or reduce over-exfoliation. Use niacinamide in the morning. Additionally, pay attention to your diet to reduce the chances of acne returning. Avoid consuming too much added sugar, processed food, and fast food. Also, be aware of any food intolerances, such as soy, milk, bread (gluten), eggs, and chicken.
Hello please enlighten me . Dermatologist says that AHA such as glycolic acid is not good to mix with niacinamide because they have different PHs levels that could lead to skin irritation .

Hello Melissa, greetings from Indonesia. I've been watching your videos this recent week. I like them so much beacuse they're straight to the point. Your contents about The Ordinary are really helpful since I start using the product myself. I was wondering if you can demonstrate how to use Salicylic Acid serum because I only trust your technique of application and the advice from The Ordinary's ambassadors. Thanks a lot 😄💗
Hello Nurannisa, thank you so much for your lovely comment. And I am glad that my content can help you. Sadly I can't show you how to use the Salicylic Acid serum because it isn't available in my country, I already tried to get the old version of it, but it's sold out everywhere. The good news is that I will do it once it is available. But I am not sure when this will be 😞 What products do you have?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet oh my God that's very nice of you to reply my comment! I just start using niacinamide for about two weeks now, and I'm following your technique of application. The reason why it's not available because the product is under new development, I just checked the Deciem website
@@nnayaf And what are your results? Yes, 😞 But what you can do is looking for an alternative, you may wish to buy a cleanser with Salicylic Acid in it. Or you need to buy the one from Paula's Choice, but that's just crazy expensive, and I think it's not worth it. But I would rather wait until the Ordinary Salicylic Acid Solution is back in stock, and like I said, to use the mask as an alternative. Blackheads are a bit tricky to get rid of. Usually, Retinol and/or Salicylic Acid can help to reduce them. However, they sometimes need to get extracted with a tool, and then you can maintain it with skincare products.
Hi I was wondering if this order would be alright? Cerave cleanser Toner Azelaic acid Moisturiser Suncream Where would I use the niancinamide? I also don’t do this routine everyday I sometimes just use moisturiser.
Hi madam how I use glycolic 5per and beta hydroxy toner or face wash with active s like retinol serum and vitamin c serum with vitamin E and Ferulic acid?
Hi, Melissa! I want to ask if this would be the right way to use my products. I have little bumps on my forehead, acne scars and acne which is not severe. In the evening - cleanser - The Ordinary glycolic acid toner - moisturizer In the morning - wash my face only with water - The Ordinary niacinamide - moisturizer - and/ or only spf instead of a moisturizer I have one more question...is it okay, after my skin is used to acids, to incorporate lactic acid in my routine and of your answer is yes, how can I do that
Hello 😃 Glycolic Acid isn't great for acne as it only exfoliates the skin surface; the same goes for Lactic Acid. If you want to improve it, you need a Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide product. In the evening - cleanser Benzoyl Peroxide (on the affected areas) - The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% - moisturizer In the morning - wash my face only with water - The Ordinary niacinamide - moisturizer - and/ or only SPF instead of a moisturizer
Skincare routine: Cerave foaming facial cleanser The ordinary niacinamide serum Cerave daily moisturizer Neutrogena sunscreen And I was hoping to add this product in. I have an oily nose and the rest of my face is normal so do you have any tips for improving my skincare routine??
Yeah, you can add Glycolic acid to your routine. For scars, it depends on the scars as this is always a trickier part to see improvements as there are different treatments that may or may not work for you....Have a look at Retinoid/Retinol and combine it with Glycolic Acid. For under eye bags, I'm not sure what will work as I don't have bags myself🤷🏼♀️
Hello.. can you plz ensure me whtr I am doing right 0r not.. I cleanse my face use the glycolic acid toner then niacinamide serum and as for moisturizer I use squalene + zinc oil free moisturizer. And at morning I cleanse use use salicylic acid same moisturizer and sunscreen
Yes, that's correct. Just make sure not to overuse Glycolic Acid and/or Salicylic Acid since it can lead to over-exfoliation when doing it too often :) So you need to adjust it accordingly to your skin needs.
Hey! :) Have a look at this video: How Often and When to Use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution With Examples: th-cam.com/video/0s_XPFywMzQ/w-d-xo.html
If your skin tolerates it, yes. However, daily exfoliation can easily lead to sensitivities or irritation over time. You may need to adjust the frequency to prevent this from happening.
Hello Melissa.I have the ordinary niacinamide and glycolic acid ı wasn t sure how to use them thanks to you ı know now. But ı also have the ordinary s hyaluronic acid and Aha 30%+BHA 2% peeling solution. How can ı add these two to my skin routine. I mean when to use hyaluronic acid through the niacinamide and glycolic acid treatment? Sorry for the long writing. ❤️
You can use Hyaluronic Acid after the peeling solution. Once a week: Cleanser Peeling Solution Hyaluronic Acid (Moisturizer) On the other days: Cleanser Glycolic Acid Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide However, be careful and do not overdo it with exfoliating; if you use the peeling solution once a week, it's best to reduce Glycolic Acid's frequency, especially when doing it for a more extended period to avoid over-exfoliating the skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Melissa hi again. I ve been using these ordinary products for a while but ı want to add vit-C to my routine. How can ı add vit c serum to my routine? Can you please explain when and how to use it.
Hi. I love this video! Im having a pimple breakout right now, is it ok to use this this toner and serum even though im having an active breakouts? Im hoping that this would help my face.
Hi ‘ I used tea tree cleanser in morning after that I used naicinamide ordinary and in evening is glycolic acid after 30 min I put the naicinamide as well ‘ I don’t used sunscreen due to itchy feeling when I try to put in morning after naicinamide’ is it ok not to put spf even though I just exposed to sun around 15 min walking going to work but I I used umbrella too ‘ thank you ‘
Well this is controversial and generally speaking, if you are really concerned about getting wrinkles, it may be best to use sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun. Personally, I do not do it when I am outside for 30-60minutes unless the sun is really burning. But this may depend on where you live. I lived in Australia, and I used sunscreen every time since the sun was extremely burning. But here in Europe, it isn't. Conclusion it's recommended. Best = avoid the sun when you can or as you said just use an umbrella. But also when you are concerned about getting wrinkles, it may be beneficial over the long run. This may help you as well and build your own opinion and try it and see how you feel the most comfortable 🙂: www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/skincare-advice/sunscreen/how-to-apply-sunscreen.html

@@ms.judymanalo36 I recommend not using it on sensitive areas because it may be irritating. However, if you do it, be careful and test it on a smaller area at first.
With Niacinamide? They change it every now and then. I think it works like this: Someone at Deciem wakes up and hasn't slept well, so he decides to go with you "cannot" use them. However, if he/she slept well, you can. 😊

Hey! Yeah, the order of application looks correct! Well, the Ordinary Peeling Solution is a mask that you can apply 1 to 2 times per week. When using the Peeling Solution, please do not use Glycolic Acid in the same routine/that evening. Also, if you are new to Glycolic Acid, use it at first every other day (like 3 times per week) for a while and see how your skin will respond before using it more often! You can keep on using the peeling solution if you like to, but you don't have to...since you're not using them in the same day :)
Hello, would this be a good daily skin routine..? I usually just wash my face once a day since I have sensitive skin. Salicylic face cleanser Glycolic acid toner Lactic acid Hyaluronic serum Niacinamide
🤔 Please, do not do that routine if you have sensitive skin. Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid are not recommended for sensitive skin since they have small molecules that can easily penetrate the skin, leading to stinging and burning. Sometimes Hyaluronic Acid can cause issues too for sensitive skin. And Niacinamide 10% is generally okay. What are you trying to target with the routine? And is your only concern sensitive skin 🤔
Hi Melissa, is this routine okay? AM - Cleanser - Glycolic acid (2 or 3 times per week) - Niacinamide - SPF PM - Cleanser - Hyaluronic acid - Retinol (2 or 3 times per week)
Yes, that's fine! If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first).😊
Hello Melissa! Can i use Salicic acid cleanser, glycolic acid toner, niacinimide, hyaluronic serum and cerave moisturizer together?? I hope you notice me 🥺
I recommend using a non-exfoliating acid cleanser when using Glycolic Acid :) So, you can use your SA cleanser in the AM when not using Glycolic Acid. The rest looks good. See here for an in-depth guide: th-cam.com/video/NE3j3LPcaGE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kO2Ir6HVyIZ5KX2D

Hey again😊 AM Routine: - Cleanse - Niacinamide - EUK - (Optional) Moisturiser - SPF Keep in mind that the conflicts of EUK are those: Do not use with highly acidic treatments, Pure Vitamin C (EAA/LAA), and Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%. - So do not use it in the same routine as Glycolic Acid. PM Routine: - Cleanse - Glycolic Acid - Rose Hip Seed Oil - (Optional) Moisturiser The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration. About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing." Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!! How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Some people do well exfoliating with AHA or BHA twice a day, whereas others find that once a day or every other day is a perfect balance. Test to see what works best for your skin.

Hey, I brought these and do them in this order: Cerave SA cleanser “Buffet” niacinamide hyaluronic acid Moisture I was also wondering if I can use glycolic acid toner, and salicylic acid that exfoliates in this routine. Also, what spf do you recommend?
Are you new to acids (AHA and BHA)? If so, this is what I recommend: If you want to incorporate leave-on exfoliators (other acids like AHA or BHA), I always recommend using a gentle/neutral cleanser that doesn't include those acids so that you can add a leave-on exfoliator in the routine without worrying it being too strong/harsh or over-exfoliating the skin. And since you are already using the Cerave SA Cleanser which already includes Salicylic Acid (BHA), I do not recommend using another exfoliator. However, if you are not new to those acids: How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Currently, I'm really liking the La Roche Posay ANTHELIOS ULTRA-LIGHT INVISIBLE FLUID SPF30

It depends on what you do during the day. If you have a lot of sun exposure, then a higher SPF factor is always better. However, if you just spend brief periods outside, then SPF 20 or 30 is more than enough. Personally, I generally only use SPF 20 or 30, but it really depends a lot on your lifestyle. Hello beautiful Can u please ans my question Can i use murad vitamin c brightening serum (which contains glycolic acid also) And tretenoin together? Vitamin c in the morning And tretenoin (thrice a week) in the evening Please please reply
Can I use these in the following order The ordinary cleanser The ordinary Azelaic suspension 10 The ordinary toner The ordinary niacinamide I have black spots on my face and pimples
No, the correct order would be: The Ordinary Cleanser The Ordinary Toner The Ordinary Niacinamide The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% However, since the toner and azelaic acid are both acidic and can cause irritation when used together for extended periods, I suggest the following routine: AM (daily): The Ordinary Cleanser (consider adding a Hyaluronic Acid serum here) The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% (SPF if you have sun exposure) PM (every other day): The Ordinary Cleanser The Ordinary Toner (consider adding a Hyaluronic Acid serum here) The Ordinary Niacinamide

Hi Melissa! I use jojoba oil and lavender oil on my skin at alternate nights. Is it okay if I use these oils after applying glycolic acid and niacinamide?
Hello Zarin, yes, it is okay to use those oils. However, if you have never used Glycolic Acid before, make sure to incorporate it slowly into your routine. And use it every other day during the first weeks to avoid skin irritation.
Hi Melissa! I really thank u for the video it's very helpful.I just begin to use niacinamide in the morning and Glycolic Acid in the evening for 20 days but i still have more pumples and that causes marks on my face. is it normal ?
If you use Glycolic Acid daily, it is likely too much for your skin to tolerate, which could lead to breakouts. To address this issue, I suggest reducing the frequency to 2-3 times per week. Additionally, before starting this new frequency, take a break from using both products for 2-3 days. This approach should help resolve the problem.
Hello! I am planning to buy Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Glycolic acid 7% Toning Solution is it ok if I use Nivea Sun Face cream UV shine control SPF 50 as my sunblock cream and for moisturizer, Cetaphil moisturizing cream? And can I also use CeraVe Ache foaming cream cleanser? Thanks
Hey! :) Yes, Nivea has great sunscreens :) What's your skin type, and what are your skin concerns? There are different ways how you can come up with a routine. So, if you have oily acne-prone skin, I recommend this: AM: - CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser - Niacinamide - Sunscreen PM: - CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser - Niacinamide - (Optional) Moisturizer or PM: - Regular Cleanser (like CeraVe Foaming Cleanser) - TO Salicylic Acid Solution (if you want to use an exfoliant) - (Optional) Moisturizer or PM: - Regular Cleanser (like CeraVe Foaming Cleanser) - Adapalene - (Optional) Moisturizer Also, I wouldn't use a moisturizer if you have oily acne-prone skin. Instead, use a hydrating toner or essence and use it after your cleansing step before anything else :)

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet would it be better if in the morning i just did cleanse, moisturizer, and sunscreen then at night i do the routine with all the things i mentioned? Also am i supposed to use niacinamide and glycolic everyday?
Yes, that would be a possibility. Or you can use Niacinamide in the morning and Glycolic Acid in the evening, that's something else you could do :) You can use Niacinamide daily AM and/or PM, I recommend starting with once per day, daily. How often you use Glycolic Acid during the week depends on what works best for your skin. You may want to try using it 2-3 times per week for a while before using it more often during the week and see what works best for your skin :)

Its my first time to use the glycolic acid 7% hopefully it will work for me. As i am already using ordinary the niacinamide for my daily routine and the buffet peptide i use it when Im using my Mesotheraphy electroporation RF skin rejuvenating device.
Hey! :)
Please do not use Glycolic Acid and Buffet + Copper Peptides in the same routine, keep them separate.
You can try Lactic Acid 5% or Salicylic Acid(in case you have oily skin)

Niacinamide (Ordinary)
Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer (contains salicylic acid)
I have rosacea/red prone skin and a propensity for nose blackheads and the occasional deep forehead pimple.
Thank you
Hello John,
Technically it would help if you did not use the AHA (Glycolic Acid) with your retinol serum, as this can lead to irritation. Usually, it is fine initially, but your skin can become sensitive after a while. So my advice is to alternate days.
Example:
Monday:
Cleanse
Glycolic Acid
Moisturizer suitable for your normal to dry skin (No retinol, no Exfoliating acids) e.g. Paula's Choice Omega + Moisturizer
Tuesday
Cleanse
Olay Regenerist retinol 24-night moisturizer
Wednesday:
Cleanse
Glycolic Acid
Moisturizer suitable for your normal to dry skin (No retinol, no Exfoliating acids) e.g. Paula's Choice Omega + Moisturizer
Etc.
of course, you need to adjust the frequency accordingly to the changing needs of your skin, but that would be a great start :)
Really love your channel! 😍

Love your videos, thanks for helping us. 🙏🏻✨
AHAs are also recommended for oily skin, blackheads and large pores...
What kind of dermatologists say that? 🤔

@@nnayaf And what are your results?
Yes, 😞 But what you can do is looking for an alternative, you may wish to buy a cleanser with Salicylic Acid in it.

Glycolic Acid isn't great for acne as it only exfoliates the skin surface; the same goes for Lactic Acid. If you want to improve it, you need a Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide product.

You can use Hyaluronic Acid after the peeling solution.
Once a week:
Cleanser
Peeling Solution
Hyaluronic Acid
(Moisturizer)
On the other days:
Cleanser
Glycolic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid
Niacinamide
However, be careful and do not overdo it with exfoliating; if you use the peeling solution once a week, it's best to reduce Glycolic Acid's frequency, especially when doing it for a more extended period to avoid over-exfoliating the skin.

Hi. I love this video! Im having a pimple breakout right now, is it ok to use this this toner and serum even though im having an active breakouts? Im hoping that this would help my face.
It is not meant for pimples. But it can help, and yes, it is okay to use when having active breakouts; it may just sting a little 😉
Hi ‘ I used tea tree cleanser in morning after that I used naicinamide ordinary and in evening is glycolic acid after 30 min I put the naicinamide as well ‘ I don’t used sunscreen due to itchy feeling when I try to put in morning after naicinamide’ is it ok not to put spf even though I just exposed to sun around 15 min walking going to work but I I used umbrella too ‘ thank you ‘
Well this is controversial and generally speaking, if you are really concerned about getting wrinkles, it may be best to use sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun.
This may help you as well and build your own opinion and try it and see how you feel the most comfortable 🙂:

- Glycolic Acid
- Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin?
- Moisturiser
Is this everything you use?

Hello, thanks for the explanation. I bought a solution of glycolic acid 7%, Hayronlic acid, nai Zinc and Vitamin C from Oznatural. How can I organize my use of these products? Please 😔
As I mentioned in the other comment you have to try it. If it does not work use Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C at alternate times. For example Vitamin C in the morning and the glycolic acid in the evening.
Hey melissa...can we apply vitamin c or any other acids the very next day after Using glycolic acid toner
If your skin tolerates it, yes :)
Hi! I need some help. Can I use these products in order?:
Cleanser (Cetaphil), Glycolic Acid Toner (The Ordinary), Niacinamide (The Ordinary), Aloe Vera Soothing Gel as moisturizer (Luxe Organix). I have combination to oily skin and I have some pimples. And should I stop using The Ordinary AHA BHA as the toner I am going to use already have Glycolic Acid in it?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much!❤️
Hello, would this be a good daily skin routine..? I usually just wash my face once a day since I have sensitive skin.
Salicylic face cleanser
Glycolic acid toner
Lactic acid
Hyaluronic serum
Niacinamide
🤔 Please, do not do that routine if you have sensitive skin.
Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid are not recommended for sensitive skin since they have small molecules that can easily penetrate the skin, leading to stinging and burning.
Sometimes Hyaluronic Acid can cause issues too for sensitive skin.
And Niacinamide 10% is generally okay.
What are you trying to target with the routine? And is your only concern sensitive skin 🤔
Hi Melissa, is this routine okay? AM
- Cleanser
- Glycolic acid (2 or 3 times per week)
- Niacinamide
- SPF
PM
- Cleanser
- Hyaluronic acid
- Retinol (2 or 3 times per week)
Yes, that looks good. I suggest not using the retinol on the same day as the acid for an even gentler option :)
Hello can I use niacinamide, alpha aburtin 2% , and hyaluronic acid in the same routine thanks . 😊

Hey again😊
AM Routine:
- Cleanse
- Niacinamide
- EUK
- (Optional) Moisturiser
- SPF
Keep in mind that the conflicts of EUK are those: Do not use with highly acidic treatments, Pure Vitamin C (EAA/LAA), and Buffet + Copper Peptides 1%. - So do not use it in the same routine as Glycolic Acid.
PM Routine:
- Cleanse
- Glycolic Acid
- Rose Hip Seed Oil
- (Optional) Moisturiser
The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions
Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first).
It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration.
About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck.
Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing."
Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!
How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Some people do well exfoliating with AHA or BHA twice a day, whereas others find that once a day or every other day is a perfect balance. Test to see what works best for your skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much..😊🥰.it's really help a lot.god blessed..

Well, technically, you could do that. However, it's better to use glycolic acid in the evening so it does not interact with the sunscreen. The issue I often encountered when doing that is that my skin became too sensitive because of the acid, so the sunscreen started to sting.

Hey, I brought these and do them in this order:
Cerave SA cleanser
“Buffet”
niacinamide
hyaluronic acid
Moisture
I was also wondering if I can use glycolic acid toner, and salicylic acid that exfoliates in this routine. Also, what spf do you recommend?
Are you new to acids (AHA and BHA)?
If so, this is what I recommend:
If you want to incorporate leave-on exfoliators (other acids like AHA or BHA), I always recommend using a gentle/neutral cleanser that doesn't include those acids so that you can add a leave-on exfoliator in the routine without worrying it being too strong/harsh or over-exfoliating the skin.
And since you are already using the Cerave SA Cleanser which already includes Salicylic Acid (BHA), I do not recommend using another exfoliator.
However, if you are not new to those acids:
How often you should exfoliate depends on your skin type and skin concerns. Some people do well exfoliating with AHA or BHA twice a day, whereas others find that once a day or every other day is a perfect balance. Test to see what works best for your skin.
It’s fine to use both types of exfoliants (AHA and BHA) as part of your skin care routine - you can use them at the same time, alternate days of usage, or use one in the morning and one at night, depending on your preference.
Currently, I'm really liking the La Roche Posay ANTHELIOS ULTRA-LIGHT INVISIBLE FLUID SPF30
Thank you! I am used to acids, I e been using them for quite a while, so I’m not new to them☺️. I have combination/ normal skin. And I also like to know it I’m using the products in the right order. Also thank you for the spf recommendation!!

Hello! Thank you for this video! Can you tell me please is spf 20 is enough after this toner?
It depends on what you do during the day. If you have a lot of sun exposure, then a higher SPF factor is always better. However, if you just spend brief periods outside, then SPF 20 or 30 is more than enough. Personally, I generally only use SPF 20 or 30, but it really depends a lot on your lifestyle. Therefore, you need to adjust accordingly.

Can I use these in the following order

The ordinary toner
The ordinary niacinamide
I have black spots on my face and pimples
No, the correct order would be:
The Ordinary Cleanser
The Ordinary Toner
The Ordinary Niacinamide
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
However, since the toner and azelaic acid are both acidic and can cause irritation when used together for extended periods, I suggest the following routine:
AM (daily):
The Ordinary Cleanser
(consider adding a Hyaluronic Acid serum here)
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
(SPF if you have sun exposure)
PM (every other day):
The Ordinary Cleanser
The Ordinary Toner
(consider adding a Hyaluronic Acid serum here)
The Ordinary Niacinamide

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you! I'll follow this way!

Yes, Nivea has great sunscreens :)
What's your skin type, and what are your skin concerns?
There are different ways how you can come up with a routine. So, if you have oily acne-prone skin, I recommend this:
AM:
- CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser
- Niacinamide
- Sunscreen
PM:
- CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser
- Niacinamide
- (Optional) Moisturizer
or
PM:
- Regular Cleanser (like CeraVe Foaming Cleanser)
- TO Salicylic Acid Solution (if you want to use an exfoliant)
- (Optional) Moisturizer
or
PM:
- Regular Cleanser (like CeraVe Foaming Cleanser)
- Adapalene
- (Optional) Moisturizer
Also, I wouldn't use a moisturizer if you have oily acne-prone skin. Instead, use a hydrating toner or essence and use it after your cleansing step before anything else :)
