📖 Our Story:
We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

I hope your moving in doesn't mean that the project is over soon. In that case, you will have to find a new project for us. Many reno sites I watch are exciting in the construction phase but disappoint me when it comes to the decorating phase. Not yours! I LOVE everything. I WANT those kitchen chairs. Also, I love the brand WMF, their appliances are always chic. And may I say, bravo for the near impossible feat of matching the door frame with the beautiful old door - love that you introduced some vintage pieces to give patina to your renovation. Lastly, thanks for the tuto on how to make a door frame for the reclaimed door. I have been toying with the idea of doing them myself rather than having them made by our joiner - every little helps, budget-wise. Your video made it seem possible :-). I watched the video twice to spot all the little details. Thank you!!!
Don’t worry: we are moving but the house is still not finished 🫠
At least we are leaving the apartment we are renting to save some money, and we are already on site if we want to keep going!

We bought the yellow chairs for only 50€ (the 4 chairs) - second hand from a private. We believe strongly in re-use objects as much as we can.

Oh my; doesn't it feel good to just stop? Congratulations you two; you more than deserve to savour the morning light, the gentle fire to sit by and a bathroom with a door. (I have been doing renovations for over 50 years, so I can relate.) You have done an absolutely magnificent job - your video series would be useful in architecture class. My brother is a retired architect & he very much likes what you have done. Time to simply 'be' and rest. Enjoy!!

Suggestion for couples (17:09): Do not place non-stick pans on top of each other, as the metal bottom of one will scratch and damage the non-stick treatment of the other. When washing the non-stick, only use a very soft sponge. Che Dio benedica e protegga te e la tua nuova casa. Essere in pace.
You can stack the pans with soft towels between them

C’est très professionnel ce que vous faites. J’ai bien aimée l’ordre que vous avez mis pour établir les travaux de rénovation. Ce n’est pas parce que c’est une bâtisse ancienne qu’il ne faut pas respecter l’ordre ( que vous avez respecté scrupuleusement) :1-murs sains, 2- hors eau, 3-hors air. Fabulous! Love the wisteria vine that you have started... it'll look so good on whatever overhead covering you'll have extending from your living room. It seems you'll be needing a shed very soon!
