The battery drain problem for Jaguar cars is not a battery maintenance or monitoring issue, it is a CAN bus communication channel termination issue… which is well documented on the Jaguar Forums.
The solution is to disconnect the battery terminal for more than 30 seconds, to force a termination of all of the CAN bus communications. Then, presto! No more battery drain issues… not until you connect some other un-authorized CAN communication device to the car (like an OBDII monitoring device).
My car experiences a drained battery after I apply my OBDII reader .. or my Bluetooth OBDII interface unit, so I have to remember to reset my battery each time, or suffer the consequences.

I had similar issues with my 2017. The battery terminal was on but loose.
Then i discovered my car was keeping the door lock LED and the hazard light button on even when locked. So the car was not going into sleep mode. After 2 days, dead battery.
The fix was to disconnect the battery for 20min, connect positive side first then negative.
Apparently this happens when the dealer or owner connects a OBD2 reader and does not disconnect it properly. I have a few JAG vids myself.

I replaced my battery recently. It died from not being used for about two months. I upgraded to the anti-gravity battery. I was having issues with the battery prior to the upgrade.

Many thanks for the video, very good information and link for tester.
I just bought a ctek 7 amp version as having low warning just started to appear. Could I ask a question please related to ctek , when you put in mode, do you just choose normal or put to AGM setting.
I plan to just charge for roughly 24 hrs like once a week or something as my car is setting out on drive. Thanks , cheers

      Thanks for the support 👍🏻
I always put it into AGM mode. It has different charging characteristics. To this day I’ve never had an issue and it’s been in use for over 2 years now

Hi guys, do you know if a low battery can affect the car alarm?

Question about your upgrade to the 10" entertaintment unit if you dont mind!... LR retrofit have told me you lose access to the climate screen. That wouldnt really be an issue apart from is that the only way to press the sync button for when the passenger changes the temperature on their side? Have you found another way to resync? Presuming youve got the dual climate control in the V8? Cheers!

That is entirely correct. There is no way I know of to sync the climate. It doesn’t really bother me and is outweighed by the upgraded screen 👍🏻

The only Jag I've had recently that didn't drain the battery constantly was my F-Pace. My 2016 XE was a nightmare, my 2019 XE not as bad but not great, and my current F-Type gives me that annoying little beep if it doesn't get driven for longer than a week. I don't think it is "issues" per se, I think they just have a lot going on constantly that draws from the battery. The only way to avoid it really is to drive them more, could be worse I guess?

Same problem... because it is the first code with the "pop and bang"... the full power etc... If Jag put the latest code the battery will be ok but your car will loose her spirit.

How To open the door with a flat battery? If using the key then how does the window drop without power?

    • @meejmuas8686
      @meejmuas8686 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

In your keyfob, you slide the metal piece vertically to reveal a mechanical key. Unfold the key. Pull the door handle of the car to reveal a keyhole to insert the key. To open the trunk, I used a portable charger on the terminals under the hood. Was able to extract the battery, used 10mm, 12mm, 13mm wrenches. Bought an Interstate H8, group 49, MTX battery. After installing, everything went back to normal, didnt even have to program the Eco start as it worked after that. 2016 Jaguar F Type V6S
