Nick Drake Thoughts of Mary Jane - very rare . Nick Drake - Now we rise and we are everywhere Nick Drake - Now we rise and we are everywhere / nick-drake-now-we-rise... Nick Drake
@@gillesserrigny6324 I respect your idea, but: have you ever played with flute, cello, viola, violins, drums etc? The sound of the guitar cannot exist in the midst of these instruments. And the recording is a "live", I think. With little money, and at the time, you couldn't afford a stage engineer, but play "acoustic".
I struggle with Nick Drake a bit these days. I love his music I always have partly for the timeless structure and melodies of the songs and technical ability with which he played them but there's also magic there too. They've stood the test of time. However there is a sadness and melancholy not just in the music but obvs his life story. It's a fact that he committed suicide nobody would take 35 pills in a short period of time without wanting to kill them self. The question is why? I think perhaps to his own mind he regarded himself as a failure or maybe he thought the only way forward was to take his own life? Maybe he just had a sudden turn and did it on impulse? The poor man suffered from depression. It wasn't his fault. But it's hard for me to reconcile his actions. I find it depressing tbh. If only he'd lived to see the revival of his music. It's a sad and beautiful world as some people say.
My public radio station only plays 2,3 of his songs. But I really only have known his music for last 16 years because of a older friend, originally. He almost seems obscure, relatively unknown...
Beautiful.Nice to hear the different versions of his songs. I wonder where you got these 'very rare' version's (also the other songs). I had never heard them before. So thank you very much!
Beautiful version of a beautiful song of a beautiful person, voice and guitarist
Personnaly, l find that the sound of the guitar muffled.

Thoughts of Mary Jane - Nick Drake
this is crazy, ive listened to so many compilations but have never heard these versions, where did you get them???
And only 14 like this.. Shameful taste to the masses
What is this released on?
This is a joke: of course it's not Nick Drake. Not his voice, nor his picking !
Obviously you don’t know nick drake if you were to say this. It is definitely his voice and his playing
@@jonreed8635 Nope, listen closer. It's not dissimilar, but that's definitely not Nick Drake singing.
It's Nick, but this version he sings softer, more tender ...
@@elecinearte772 Sorry, I respectfully disagree. Been listening to ND for 30 years, I don't believe this is him.
This release was done by an alternate studio engineer.. it’s nick drake
this doesn’t really sound like him
100000% him, listen to the timbre of his voice
@@IFeelSoTongueTied Nope. A good impression, but very obviously not Nick Dark singing.
It's Nick, but this version he sings softer, more tender ...
