now that my tears are have dried i can clearly see and cherish these old vids of Lesley at the Top of her game. I love the high notes she does on this live version compared to the studio. when she sings'' Deep" down inside he loves me though he may run around "Deep"1:37 down inside he loves me...that's a very high key. Love it. Then I listened to her last live versions of this song up until 2013, the note was much lower(expected) but her voice was hanging in there and she belted out some other notes I am still Amazed being all she was going through. She was still Belting them out. You go Lesley and Belt with the angels..You definitely will take the Lead..Maybe I KNOW!
I came back to this site to not only hear Lesley's great voice, but to tell the world we all need to grow up!! After her death, the fact that she was gay was in the obit. That's bullshit. I'm a straight male who grew up listening to the great Ms.Gore and like k.d. lang, greatness knows no limits. We all need to grow up and enjoy what God has given us. And if homosexuality is wrong, the let's let the Master of the House take care of it and Judge no lest we will be judged. And it's ok to point out someone's wrong doing, but it's not my place or anyone's place to condemn them for it. I love Lesley Gore. She was one of the most original and progressive female singers of all time, exp. when she went in to the studio with the great Quincy Jones.
1963..Lesley Gore is the absolute pioneer of 'rock music'. (maybe along with Ronnie Spector).. Even before The Beatles arrived in America in Feb.1964, to officially kick off 'The Rock Era'...Not to be confused with the 'Rock and Roll Era' that began in 1956 with Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Buddy Holly.. The modern 'Rock Era'. Leslie Gore was pure 100% Rock Music....Pioneer for woman in rock?...No! Pioneer for everybody in rock....Unbelievable..Like she knew at that young age what cool Rock Music was supposed to be about..And so confident and hip..I remember when I was 7, 8, 9, and 10 in the mid 60's, hearing Lesley's songs on tv, and my little AM transistor radio..Then I kind of forgot about her by time I was 13 and forward, and in High School in the mid 70s. We all got into The Beatles, The Stones, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. Maybe she wasn't on the radio so much after the 1960's or something.. Then like over 40 years later I pulled her up on You Tube and finally got to see lots of her TV appearances, and concerts, and video clips, and interviews, and I was blown away...Rock Music would have never had been the same if it wasn't for Lesley Gore...And her interviews over the decades shows how much of a great person Leslie Gore was... I seen every cool rock band in the 70's, and forward, but never got to see Leslie live in concert..Bummer! She passed away before I even realized that she still played live all these years....God Bless Lesley Gore, and Thanx You Tube for all of her great music..frankm62yroldwhitekid
I remember seeing and hearing Leslie Gore in the mid 60's on TV and radio when I was 7, 8 and 9 yrs old ... I loved it.. Now Im 61 and I still never seen anyone who sang like Leslie Gore. And there have been tons of killer woman singers in rock and pop, (and country) over the years.. This girl is just a 16/17 year old teenager here and she's got total control right out of the box. The FIRST real girl of the ROCK era (1963 to now), along with Ronnie Specter.. Hit after hit in the mid sixties right from the word go.. A real pioneer for woman in Rock, and Rock Music in general.. A True Superstar beyond Superstardom along with The Beatles, The Stones, and Bob Dylan. I never noticed all this when I was a kid (especially with all the great music around in the 60's). But now that I'm older, and watching all her performances from over the years, here on You Tube, it's like WTF....God Bless you Leslie Gore...frankfromthe60's
Lesley did for me what Shelly Fabres did for me back in the day. I was 10 and I fell in love with them. Then I found out Shelly was married and Lesley was a lesbian. Shit, I don't care, I'm still in love with them! RIP Lesley.
Met her in Palm Springs, Ca Talked for a few seconds...Told her she still sounded great....She autographed a greatest hits dvd....Then, she passed away not too long afterwards.
I remember seeing and hearing Leslie Gore in the early/mid 60's on TV and radio when I was 7, 8 and 9 yrs old ... I loved it.. So for like 50 yrs. I didn't pay much attention to Leslie Gore, and didn't realize that she still performed all those years...till now... Now Im 61 and I still never ever seen anyone who sang like Leslie Gore. I saw Leslie Gore and Gary Lewis & the Playboys and another act perform at the Dubuque, Iowa, County Fair in the middle of August 1989 or 1990. They put on a great show.
Saw her in Des Moines in the early 80's during a 60's reunion and SHE was great... still had all that power in her little body. All of 5 foot 2 inches.

@@aliciamarquis9353 I had to edit my comment a little because I copied the same comment for all her videos not realizing the same comment didn't apply to all her videos....mainly her age differences
Mitchell Steven the sweet spot of her voice. The 60's voice was cute but the year before her death, her voice degraded but their is still a hint of Lesley Gore
Very underrated in Britain. She had a couple of hits, should have so many more. Sandie Shaw was very underrated in America, she had a couple of hits , should have had so many more. Love them both.
@1989Melbourne FINALLY some what is Hearing what I am hearing..LoL..for a minute I thought i was imagining what I was hearing..I can listen to her sing what can I dooooooewwwoooew... i also like her ending..ohhhhhhh ohhhhhh whooooo whooooo oohhhhhhhhhh..lol

Soooo Good here...God ive listened to Leslie so many times in past 7 yrs, and Tuesday night i found out this happened. its devastating that this happened. DOES anyone know when she was diagnosed...So many of my favorite singers have gone form us...any additional info would be appreciated,
So who was really the FIRST woman of the ROCK era, which was from about 1963 to now? There were two. Ronnie Specter, and Leslie Gore...She was like a 16 year old teenager in 1963 when this song came out, and here she is 25 years later in 1989, a 40 year old woman and she is just wonderful. Leslie Gore was a real pioneer for woman in Rock, and all Rock Music in general. A TRUE superstar beyond super stardom. ...100% pure rock & Roll ....God bless you Leslie Gore.
@stevemichaels2020 -- Thanks for the correction Steve ! I knew there was something not quite right with my song title, but then forgot to check it out properly. Great that you've enjoyed it - Happy Easter 2010 !!
Lesley Gore and Linda Ronstadt, two of the best female voices, along with Karen Carpenter. I admired Lesley Gore for her writing, as well as her singing, stage presence and persona. Gone way too young, too soon.
HER voice is gone listen to older recordings and you will see .i just dont know why these singers have obivously lost their voices due to ager or ewhat ever and still continue to perform i think they should stop while they still got it and be rembered that way . this performance is sad to hear .
No need to auto tune her voice. She was the real deal. RIP Lesley.
RIP Lesley. So sad to lose you way too soon. Loved you! Thanks for the music.
+Tango Eliott Always the good ones that die soon. A piece of crap like Donals Trump is still around.

DistroJump it really did and this is her Best yr. 1989 as far as her voice goes..

Her songs bring back a lot of memories.
What a crowd she got! When the camera scans the room. For 1989! She must have been pleased with that.
Sang & danced to your songs when I was young...still do ♡ R.I.P. Lesley Gore ♡

Austin that is very well spoken. Only God can judge his creation. It is not the place of others to decide the fate of others once they die.
Tremendous!
Great! Happy you liked! :)

Those are the exact 3...and maybe Marilyn McCoo of The 5th Dimension.
Who ever posted this can we post the whole concert
spectrumlocalb191 it’s me from the future... there’s a video somewhere with the whole concert
@Neptunesque Hey, really glad you enjoyed - thank you!!
The Katy Perry of the 60's and she's still out there singing!
i disagree, Katy Perry is nothing like Lesley Gore.
@blkshepherd She's absolutely great - love her very much ! Thanks my friend !!
She was a hella performer! Power vocals for a person who smokes! Wow! Though cancer took her at 69. We all miss her
girl no no no, lesley was never a smoker even though she passed away from lung cancer, this time it was probably a genetic thing or something.
Bye Leslie.
@Dayniac4324 -- Hahaha, my second favourite too ! So happy you enjoyed, have a wonderful weekend - xoxo

she has lung cancer what do you expect.
She was in high school on those old hit records. She sounds GREAT here, all grown up.
@blkshepherd Me too !! lol Thanks !!
That song is GREAT...but it would really kick ass with a screaming guitar solo.
Sorry nalia but Lesley never smoked although she did die from lung cancer plenty of people have died but never smoked
ive had a weird fixation with lesley for years
I won't the Queen of the 60's down on this performance but man she should have retired
She's a little too "loungey" with this version but that's ok. A great performer and can deliver live.
A smoker I am sure!
She didn't smoke, but sang in smoky nightclubs.
She never smoked.
Second-hand smoke, or maybe genetics, but no, she didn't smoke.
Chunky and a little hyper....a fading career?
LOVED HER MUSIC in college she was IT! Loved her beautiful eyes and her powerful voice. RIP you will be remembered sister!
R.i.p. Lesley Gore. She was an amazing Singer.
