My wife is singing her heart out right now since I played this on my speaker. She's such a beautiful singer to such a beautiful song. There is a special place for those who have brought joy to many children in the world. Thank you Miyazaki, you are a gift to the world.
"and if I can make just one life better, bring a smile to your face when you're under the weather, then I'm feeling like I finally found my home. I'll plant the seeds and watch them grow." I live by these words!
Hayao Miyazaki introduced me to amazing new worlds when I was just a toddler. I held hands with Totoro, flew through the sky on the back of a broom, rode in a moving castle with a wizard, found another high in the sky, and even fell in love with a dragon. I laughed, I cried, and I loved. Ghibli studios will not be the same without it's king, but neither would I have been had I not picked up that movie in the back of a Blockbusters twenty some odd years ago. They call him the Walt Disney of Japan, but Disney will never be able to stand on that level. Those movies are beautiful and deep. They touch your soul in a way no Disney movie ever could. Disney can try, but they will never harness the skill, or the heart, that those movies took to make.
I feel the same way, if it was not for one odd day were somebody borowd Totoro to me when I was three years of age I wood not be the same person today. Every time I see a Hayao Miasaki movie I look at the world differently.
i love this song, Kiki's Delivery Service is my favorite film from Hayo Miyazaki's collection, his movies are beautiful and will always will be, as long as it doesn't turn digital animation in the future.
I am 63 years old and I love glibly animated movies, and especially [Kiki's Delivery Service]. I just fell in love with this simple tale of a young witch in training trying to find her way in the world. Brilliant!
I grew up watching this movie and hearing this song on the trailer for this movie. It brings back that warm and fuzzy feeling as a kid, I love it. The only thing is where can I buy this song?!
It's just not Kiki's Delivery Service without this and Soaring! Not to mention Phil Hartman and his ad-libs. Couldn't they respect the fact that we want the version we grew up with too? They'd still be getting paid anyway, and I *know* they can have multiple versions on one disc.
I remember being about eleven or twelve and after watching this film kept singing this song! I love the song and this film ^_^ Miyazaki's films were different and beautiful, Castle in the Sky, Whisper of the Heart, Kikki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro are among some of my favorites ^-^ The power of amazing story-telling full of adventure, beautiful animation, and heart :)
this is the song that helped me get through my first summer away from home working for the fishpacking plants in seward alaska! PROPS TO BOTH THE GUY WHO UPLOADED THIS ON TH-cam AND THE GAL WHO WROTE THE SONG IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
Kind of sucks they took it out of the new DVD of this movie. They also took some of the add English wording and phrases out as well but still I love this song. Thanks for putting it up.
Jessica Cox Yeah I was quite upset about that too. I still love the new blu ray release and am proud to own it, but I almost prefer to watch my older DVD anyway solely for the English song and dialogue that they chose to remove from the new version.
Jessica Cox I was so sad this wasn't in the new DVD release. This song is amazing. I didn't realize phrases had been cut, that sucks. This is the first time I've ever owned the film and originally saw it on TV when I was a kid.
Hi, Get the old Kiki on Ebay. I saw it there I bought the dvd. Its there if you have 2003 dvd version only. Don't buy the new special edition if want this song. Love video thank you.
hyangshin the special edition is better though. It features the original Japanese songs which are way better. The only reason they made these English songs in the first place is because Disney had trouble acquiring the rights to the Japanese songs. The Japanese end credits song is superior to this one: th-cam.com/video/S7XNjsYKCoA/w-d-xo.html
@@visualspark6308 This came out in 1990's. I always thought it had more to do with mainstream audiences in the US would probably not appreciate the Japanese music soundtrack.
I always said this song’s lyrics always made reference to some of studio ghibli’s movies. Even predicted some that came after this movie. These being the reference I could find. “One day, the whole world looks like an open page” - whisper of the heart “You been dancing, as fast as you can with a smile on your face” - the cat returns “You carry me away as light as a feather” - arriety “Chase the clouds from the ground, in the big blue sky, dont want to watch it all go by” - castle in the sky “Feel the wind blow, through my hair” - nausicaä of the valley of the winds “Every leap of fate I’m feeling a little stronger” - Princess Mononoke “Taste the stardust in my mouth” - howl’s moving castle “Chase the clouds until they disappear” - porco rosso “And if I can make just one life better” - spirited away “Bring a smile to your face when you’re under the weather” - ponyo “Then Im feeling like I finally found my home” - grave of the fireflies “Plant the seed and watch them grow” - Totoro “Higher than I ever, ever could” - Kiki’s delivery service
KATIE Stewart I love this movie too. I don’t want a Kiki 2 though because it would ruin the magic the original has. Most studio Ghibli Movies are meant to be one off movies.
It's from the VHS tape of the movie. The new dvd version has all the Japanese music. Original US-made soundtrack songs were deleted. Such a shame, the singer Sydney Forest did such a great job on the opening and ending songs.
I love this song. Kiki's Delivery service is not the same without it. Honestly I wish dishonor on Miyazaki for what they did to the Blue ray copy of Kiki's Delivery service. Dishonor on them. Their businesses and their cows.
Ahh! Memories but I never fully understood the meaning of the this song back then and I still don't ('i.e. I always like to know the meaning of certain songs because I'm always like the message and the reasons behind certain songs that are relatable or become smash hits.') If anyone can tell me the meaning of this song, I'll appreciate it.
+TikiDragon1 Sadly, because the voice actor for Jiji died before the movie finished. If you look closely at the end credits it is dedicated to him. They had intended for scenes with Kiki and Jiji talking after she regained her ability but no one could voice act Jiji better than the original voice actor.
+TikiDragon1 I thought she did? Maybe that's just the version I've got though. Direct from Studio Ghibli? It has both this song and "Soaring" in it so idk.
+TikiDragon1 In the american dub you can hear Jiji actually say "Hey Kiki, can you hear me?" when he runs toward her at the end after saving Tombo and if you listen carefully the way he meows on sounds a bit exaggerated like he does on purpose than an actual cat's meow (unlike when Kiki starts lose her ability, he sounded more cat-like), indicating that Kiki does understand him.In the original version (and at least in the Swedish dub) despite Kiki getting her Powers back, she won't be able to talk to Jiji like used to anymore. This a symbol of her becoming more mature. In my opinion I thought it was better with Kiki being able to talk to Jiji again, but that's just me.

Hi, by the way, nice to meet you! ^^
hello there nice to meet you too!! and same here forever a kid at heart
Kiki's Delivery service was the second one I saw and is my personal favorite. I have a black cat named Jiji and I cosplay as Kiki at local comicons :)
Rest in peace, Phil Hartman. It'll be 25 years this upcoming May.
One more to make the same wish to: Debbie Reynolds.
This movie is still better than more than half of the stuff coming out nowadays.
You got that right!
+qwerty1329408 I'm ashamed to say it, but that's pretty true (with the minor exception of persona 4 the animation)
PRAISE GOD!
id like the comment but I wanna keep it at 69
Simple, but it's a masterpiece.
this song is my biggest dream. i've always wanted to just fly around the sky

Agreed... But I also wouldn't mind Sydney Forest herself reusing those songs for another production or film.
My favorite all time movie in Anime movie!!! And the song, touches my heart 💕💕

Add Ponyo to the list.
I remember when I first heard this song in the trailer for the VHS release of this film on one of my Disney tapes.
So much nostalgia! I wish I could go back to the days of watching this movie in my Aunt's living room. Thanks for uploading!
I watched it at my Aunt’s too, this and Totoro.
Finally a full version.
