I find that some of their dramas are so simplistic and absolutely touching in how the very simplicity is what portrays the depth of the feelings and relationships.
The sweetness, depth and beauty of this song is unparalleled. "when a mirror is broken, shattered pieces scattered to the ground...Glimpses of a new life, reflected all around..".Just WOW.
You know what's beautiful? I've seen this movie countless times since my childhood and this at the ending has always been my favorite piece of the soundtrack closely followed by Sixth Station. I never bothered to look up the lyrics until now and even though I didn't *know* the meaning of the song, I still *felt* it and every word fits perfectly as to what I felt when hearing it. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about the power of love communicated universally through music in all languages. God bless whoever is listening to this, you are in touch with your soul if you are moved by this because it transcends the material world.
It's perplexing how one of the greatest compositions (possibly) was embedded within a kid's film. The meaning and message that comes with every Studio Ghibli film is profound and very, very intricate. This is philosophy and emotions being entwined and served on a platter as life lessons. Cannot even begin to imagine the depth Miyazaki possesses. Genius can sometimes truly be understated.

When my brother passed away, a week later TH-cam recommended this song to me. It's so timely and it's the first time i hear this song. The lyrics & melody really speak of my grief. My brother died of sudden heart attack. When i heard the lyrics " As i bid goodbye, my heart stops... my silent empty body..." i really really cried. This song brings me pain and solace at the same time.
This song reminds me of my childhood, and especially my dad. We used to watch Spirited Away together, and get excited every time this song comes on during the movie. I miss you, Dad. Rest in peace. I wish I could turn back time, and listen to this song with you. 😢💔
I feel so sad now after reading this. I hope my virtual message helps. Even though we live very far apart i guess, but thanks to technology i can say to you: Everything will be okay. Let your emotions go but always remember everything will be okay.
That ending credits song had no business being this heart breaking and emotional. That whole film, really. Truly a masterpiece, the memories of enjoying this movie so much as a kid and then as a teenager and then as an adult will stay forever💕💙
This is the most beautiful fucking thing I’ve ever listened to in my entire life… Japanese is such a beautiful language. Bless you, Hayao Miyazaki, for this masterpiece of a film.
This makes me realize that my childhood is really over, but I’ll always be a child. I’ll always run through fields filled with flowers, I’ll dance and sing with the bees, I’ll enjoy reading a book in the sun, I’ll feel excited about every single thing. Every little moment is a precious treasure.(2)
I absolutely love the Japanese people and culture for their delicacy in approaching everything, from music to food and even manners. This song is wonderful and now I want to watch the movie so much!

This song most likely saved my life, In 2021 I was on my lowest point. I was afraid of falling out of school, becouse of terrible grades. Like seriously! My depression got worse every week... This 'emotion' of fullness brought me through that storm.
When I first heard this song, I didn't understood but I always thought its a motivating song to gives you light admist of darkness. When I saw the lyrics in english, it really is. The hope is always with us inside.
Somewhere, a voice calls, in the depths of my heart May I always be dreaming, the dreams that move my heart So many tears of sadness, uncountable through and through I know on the other side of them I'll find you Everytime we fall down to the ground we look up to the blue sky above We wake to it's blueness, as for the first time Though the road is long and lonely and the end far away, out of sight I can with these two arms embrace the light As I bid farewell my heart stops, in tenderness I feel My silent empty body begins to listen to what is real The wonder of living, the wonder of dying The wind, town, and flowers, we all dance one unity Somewhere a voice calls in the depths of my heart keep dreaming your dreams, don't ever let them part Why speak of all your sadness or of life's painfull woes Instead let the same lips sing a gentle song for you The whispering voice, we never want to forget, in each passing memory always there to guide you When a miror has been broken, shattered pieces scattered on the ground Glimpses of new life, reflected all around Window of beginning, stillness, new light of the dawn Let my silent, empty body be filled and reborn No need to search outside, nor sail across the sea Cause here shining inside me, it's right here inside me I've found a brightness, it's always with me
It's beautifully written, it makes me ponder about a lot of things. For some reason, it fills me with gratitude and a warm embrace. この人生は驚きに満ちています。そのために生きています。🌷
I think Chihiro forgotten everything like a dream. But I think their promise will not be broken. The lesson they've learned and feeling for each other will never be forgotten. Because just like Baba Yaga's twin sister said, love brings them together. So even if Haku doesn't remember anything when he comes out of the spirit world, fate will make them keep their feeling for each other instead of the memories they had. That would be cool if it was fate that will make their promise come true, meeting up in somekind of magical, awkward, accident. They will share all the myths and legends they had felt during their spiritual adventures together to their children, just like our grandparents do sometimes. And when they get old and pass away from the material world, they can go back to the spirit world and remember the memories they had lost when they were young. They will laugh, cry, relive their memories and be happy together forever in both worlds with new spirits, people and new adventures that will come in the future, meeting no face, Baba Yaga, and other old friends they had. For now, she has to survive school.... prison.... aheemmm... XD
When I was young, this movie was shown on TV. I did not know its name. For years I tried to find out its name, but with time I completely forgot about it. Ten years later, I had a math exam, I was worried and nervous about it, so I decided to search on TH-cam for relaxing music, and I found this song at the top of the list, it was an indescribable joy. I went for the test and did well. I came back from school and decided to watch the movie, that day was one of my best days in my life
I feel the same.. I Think There is something so *Special* About The *Songs* and the *Animation* Studio Ghibli is one of the Best'est Animation Producer's *I Promise you its worth watching the animation's they made..*
I think the train scene is an allegory to growing up and the loss of childhood, which is why the bittersweet melancholy of this music fits it so well. Chihiro finds herself all of a sudden with many responsibilities from family and friendship and she takes them on gladly, but you can’t help but feel it is the beginning of the end for the child inside Chihiro. She is surrounded by shadows of adults, each with their own silent story to tell as if a reminder of what is being lost in the quest to provide for and protect those you love. The scene bears resemblance to another train scene early from anther Ghibli masterpiece, Hotaru no Haka or Grave of the Fireflies
This was the film that changed my mind from regarding anime as a silly distraction to an art. This song made me cry, while I was steeped in the most depressed period of my life. I was just so very glad I didn't end myself, to hear this beautiful song.
When my niece died from cancer in the midst of the pandemic, I had not been able to see her for two years and this song became my comfort song. I miss you, Amanda, and I'll always be your aunt
This song reminds me of my first love when I said goodbye to him. As he mentioned in the song, even when I said goodbye to him, my heart was still in place with the same compassion.Even though he made me shed so many tears, I still can't hate him. Yes, I don't hate him, "not even close not even a little bit, not even at all."

Listening to this just feels like that one vivid memory you have when you were young and you were watching this on a television either the sub or dub. What a wonderful memory and feeling
For me, this song is about reincarnation and it says that even if you are separated from those you love in this life, feelings will always reunite you with them eventually, so that you are never alone. And when I saw it like that, I felt comfort.
When someone leaves you, they're not just always with you, they're always in your heart. When my cat died two years ago, she has always remained in me and my family's hearts. In fact; all of our previous pets are in our hearts. Even our fishes.
Every time I listen this song.. I feel regret why I haven't a pure heart like Chi-hiro.... U can't beat the power of love and U can't buy a pure big heart

I wanted to get into anime, and so I watched this, because indeed, I saw a lot of praise about it online. And after watching it the first time, I immediately rewatched a second time, and a third, and even a fourth. It immediately became my favority movie of all time.
my heart literally breaks when thinking about the fact that Chihiro forgets everything when leaving... Imagine you experienced this, made your friends and learned everything and then just foregt everything...
I've lost my mother to cancer last week. This reminds me of the day I was listening to this song while cooking for her. I miss you mum... I wish you were here ❤️
I remember watching this movie like 10 times with my dad on cable on demand as a small kid. We loved this movie together ❤ Some of the best of memories of my dad 😭
When she makes you feel important, talk with you, laugh with you, cry with you, share her experiences and be there for you, but I'd never expected to end like this, I was a fool, a selfish, a worse friend, now I've lost a friend. Even though I lost her, I'll still pray for her health and I hope we will see each other again.
As a child I made my dad watch this with me so many time I can’t count. We’d watch it, then rewind the VCR and watch it again. I decided then this is the song I would have him walk me down the aisle to. Sadly cancer took him from me a little over two years ago so I wasn’t able to make that happen. So now reading what the lyrics mean hit me. I don’t share my feelings much so I decided to do it on a TH-cam comment. 🤣💕 but what a beautiful song. 💕
I remember the first time I watched this I was 14. I was really amused by its story because I like discovering weird and beautiful things back then. I remember crying when the movie ends, it really made me felt sad finishing it. Afterwards I told my internet friend about it. Now, I am 17. I started rewatching Ghibli films and I am amazed by its visuals and story I always end up teared-eye or crying or stunned of how beauty the details are in these masterpieces. I just finished Spirited Away and I end up crying real hard in the end and I just admired this piece of art 😭💗 I told the same internet friend of mine back then about it. I just want to say these Ghibli films made me felt a lot of beauty in life. A really big thank you for the creators of these films. I know all of us are bad when it comes in finishing these films. I'll never forget this part of my life. Thank you. I hope we live our lives happy and free.
I have anxiety problems that affect my stomach because I get more nervous and anxious for fear that I will feel sick at some point. But this video helps me a lot, I swear, it makes me calm down and feel a lot better, as now, my anxiety and nervousness are gone, thank you so much! ❤
I grew up with studio ghibli, and as a child this song was my first experience of music that made me cry. I interpreted it as a loved one passing on to heaven at the end of their life. Perhaps it was personal because I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was two. Miyazaki was a genius!
This song is connecting to "my Chihiro". This was one of her favorite anime. She is far far away in her way. But She will be there forever in the deep down of my heart. Even I dunno why am I commenting this. 🖤
I wish i could live in a ghibli anime Wake up in the morning with the sound of nature ,walking through the totoro forest and working with chihiro ,playing with ponyo in the sea , watching sunset with the sound of seiji’s violin , watching planes in the sky 🌌, I believe someday in somewhere i will do these things but not in a ghibli anime it will be in my real life.
This song makes my lips smile, my heart hurt, and my eyes full of tears. This song just made me remember all things, and every person that had disappeared. 😭
Our lives are like a song or a movie that has a definite beginning and ending with no sequel as far as we know. In that sense every life ends in a tragedy if that's all there is to us. But maybe our souls go on. If that's true then our deaths are just our souls transitioning to the unknown. This song is a reminder to find joy in the right here and right now and wherever we find ourselves.
I walked down the ailse to a piano version of this song. This is my favorite movie since i was little. And this song about loving someone who is far away was comforting to me. (wheather it is distance or death or age or just simply growing apart) Love is such a powerful emotion. It can push you do to things you think are frightening for the good of yourself or friends or family. It can make youbfeel safe when you feel so alone and scared. Such a sweet movie. and such a wonderful song
Every time I listen to this song, I cry, thinking back on the times I spent with my friends and loved ones who are no longer with me in this world. I always thought that when my days on this Earth are done, I would reunite with them again in heaven. As I keep going with my life, I keep living in their memory so that they'll never be forgotten. I watched Spirited Away before, but I never spent enough time to analyze what it was all about. After watching it as an adult, I can see it now. This song is one of the most beautiful melodies I've ever listened to. Not only is it calming, but it also stirred long dormant emotions and memories I never thought I could feel or experience again.
I saw this movie when it first came out at a small indie movie theatre. I was 13. I'll never forget feeling so overwhelmed when Chihiro left the spirit world and this song came on. This movie and this beautiful song will always be very special for me!
When all fails, a help comes from underworld in form of a ghost, who is parts of yourself that has been denied and excluded. It comes back in a form of a friendly shadow to comfort you whenever you’re alone. It’s always with you, you never walk alone
My grandfather passed away a couple of days ago. As a child, when I lived with my grandparents, I often watched "spirited away" on a VHS. I associate this song with those happy days. I love you, Grandpa, you are always with me in my heart❤

Have you seen the movie?
Japanese ppl have a perfect way of reflecting feelings, very touching l truely admire their language and culture
I find that some of their dramas are so simplistic and absolutely touching in how the very simplicity is what portrays the depth of the feelings and relationships.
It’s because of a lot of efforts made by Japanese leaders to ask the population to be expressive with their art including but not limited to music

Bless my ears. This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
Beautiful comment, indeed.

This song most likely saved my life,
In 2021 I was on my lowest point. I was afraid of falling out of school, becouse of terrible grades. Like seriously! My depression got worse every week...
This 'emotion' of fullness brought me through that storm.
Hayio Miyazaki saved the love of my life, even before I was born, by making this masterwork in 2001...
When I first heard this song, I didn't understood but I always thought its a motivating song to gives you light admist of darkness. When I saw the lyrics in english, it really is. The hope is always with us inside.
Just played instrumental of this song on the clarinet at a friend's memorial January 9th. It was heart warming.
Somewhere, a voice calls, in the depths of my heart
May I always be dreaming, the dreams that move my heart
So many tears of sadness, uncountable through and through
I know on the other side of them I'll find you
Everytime we fall down to the ground we look up to the blue sky above
We wake to it's blueness, as for the first time
Though the road is long and lonely and the end far away, out of sight
I can with these two arms embrace the light
As I bid farewell my heart stops, in tenderness I feel
My silent empty body begins to listen to what is real
The wonder of living, the wonder of dying
The wind, town, and flowers, we all dance one unity
Somewhere a voice calls in the depths of my heart
keep dreaming your dreams, don't ever let them part
Why speak of all your sadness or of life's painfull woes
Instead let the same lips sing a gentle song for you
The whispering voice, we never want to forget,
in each passing memory always there to guide you
When a miror has been broken, shattered pieces scattered on the ground
Glimpses of new life, reflected all around
Window of beginning, stillness, new light of the dawn
Let my silent, empty body be filled and reborn
No need to search outside, nor sail across the sea
Cause here shining inside me, it's right here inside me
I've found a brightness, it's always with me
I'm crying
Too long
Thank you... For the trouble you took... Surely helped🖤
For now, she has to survive school.... prison.... aheemmm... XD

@@thawmawsoeaung9174 hi ,, same !
I am a Japanese so I like your nice comment.

Some of the best of memories of my dad 😭
No Face becoming friendly and helpful is the purest childhood thing ever. A child can imagine the worst possible person becoming good again.
I just finished Spirited Away and I end up crying real hard in the end and I just admired this piece of art 😭💗 I told the same internet friend of mine back then about it.

Hi. 2024

Here
This song should have been in the movie more. Not just the end. (So many people would just leave and miss out on this masterpiece)
My brother missed it:/ it rounds off the film so beautifly
This song was for aonther movie but it was canceled now reused for spirted away
