Man, waves 7 and 9 (and some of 8) are absolute masterpieces! Makes me all the more sad that the Playmates era of the Ultimates line is most likely over. I feel like they were really getting their second wind. I'm grateful we got all of my "must-have" characters from the original line, but I would have loved to see the others (especially Wyrm and Pizza Face) get this treatment, too.
We will see. The Rat King update was pretty encouraging. The $35 rehash of older figures with light accessories coming out at Target is probably going to help fund continuing this line.
@@Hilltopperpete I hope so, but it sounds like Super7 has two 2003 TMNT waves in a row planned, when it was originally supposed to alternate between '03 and Playmates. When asked recently if they'll get back to the Playmates figures, Brian Flynn said "hopefully". Sounds like things have changed even beyond the initial plan. It does make me wonder if they'll add TMNT figures to the new Deluxe line. I guess they'd all be ones I have already, but it could be interesting!
I like your video so far but you have to research a bit more on toy price points. It's a $55 figure with better plastic compared with what NECA uses. And also it's a different production number. And accessories
@@ToyShiz Hopefully they'll do a repaint/re-deco and turn Sgt. Bananas/Guerilla Gorilla into that weird albino monkey gangster from TMNT: The Next Mutation. Oh... who am I kidding? The Next Mutation wouldn't get action figures until Super 7 has done every random character from anything TMNT related they have access to. They'd make an action figure of "A Tree From The Park" or "A grey rock" or "Some Brown Unidentifiable Sewer Slime" before they'd so much as *LOOK* at The Next Mutation.
I think you'll find the communicator works better on his right arm. The dual strap design seems to be present to facilitate going around the spikes on the gauntlets. It's a much tighter fit as well. I'm actually a little disappointed in this one. I had high hopes, he was one of my favorites in the vintage line, so my expectations might be high. I'm just not getting enough articulation to warrant the price. The NECA Zog and the toon Triceratons all move pretty well for big, bulky, boys. It can be done, they just didn't do a great job integrating the articulation here and I really hate the knees. I want to have him posed like you had him with the vintage one in your video, but the knees are such an eyesore. I think this is definitely one where if you like how he looks in a vanilla pose then you'll be far more forgiving. I want a bit more though for the price.
Are you saying "asfix" (like asphyxiate) or "affix?" regardless, great video. I also love the pink triangles that were snuck into the design of old '80s toys. I think Zach the neutrino has one, as does cobra commander (belt buckle). It's like this secret gay mafia! 😂
If you look at the back you'll see why they did it. If the pin had been orange to match the skin, there would have been an orange stripe on the back of the legs where the pin is exposed. The "rip in the jeans" created a sculpt situation with no easy solution.
@@kapiteinfox3142True, but I’d rather have an orange stripe on the back of the leg where I’ll hardly ever see it as opposed to a green stripe in the front. Not many people will be displaying this guy with his back facing them.
He comes with a cpap mask 😎
he looks fantastic! Can't wait to get mine

I’m thinking of picking up when it goes on super sale
Damn, I think I’ve had this figure pre ordered for about 2 years 😂 glad it’s finally coming out.

😂 I mean…
With the breathing mask, chestplate, eye shadow and pistol he looking like immortal joe, some.
Dead rat gotta be a reference to Zog from Return to New York and his penchant for eating rats
Exactly!
Amazing 🤩
Have you seen Super 7’s segmented tails? The solid one was the way to go.
If you read the toy sgt bananas, his name tag said guerilla, and the bio on the blister card indicates they are both the same character
Right…but it’s not the same character. It’s 2 diff ones.

If the pins were orange they would show on the back of the leg and make it look like he's wearing shorts
Hope you didn't miss Wingnut. He's my favorite in the line.
🔥🔥🔥💯

Any news about S7 continue doing Playmates inspired characters?!!!
Will you be getting the Gorilla from this wave? I'm waiting till he goes on sale somewhere, one these days!🤣
Yes! I will tell you tho, they’re def making less of these now, so don’t wait too long. I fear I May have missed WINGNUT and SCREWLOOSE 😭
4:25 The DS goes on his right arm, not left.
It looks goofy no matter the arm.
Scared to ask how much will he set me back
The green knee joint is a huge swing and miss. Super7 QC has become so bad for 60 buck figures.
That’s not QC, that’s in the design aesthetic.
It’s not ideal, but def not as a bad as having loose joints or terrible paint.
