My daddy was like that Danny. Woman's Work was Woman's and men's Work was men's work. Because of that reason I taught my boys how to cook and clean. I taught my daughter how to change a tire, mower yard and both how to grow a garden.

My daddy made all of the girls learn to change a tire before we got our license.

I really enjoy your porch times, and all your and Miss Wanda's videos. Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and knowledge of homesteading. I've started the first garden I've had in over 15 years, at age 66 and while living with metastatic breast cancer. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone with God's help snd guidance!🌱

Danny, we have been told to not have fear and to trust in God. Wisdom and understanding takes knowledge. We are to live in faith. God gives us direction. Lean upon His understanding and not our own.

I found a few years ago that the Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday..
Thats when I started stepping out of the religion that I was taught and started doing my own research.. You're right, we all have our own way of doing thing's.. God bless🙏

SAME! My parents were pretty progressive in the 60's and 70's and did teach us to "cross train" so to speak. Changing tires, oil, running the lawnmower, building a shed was taught to all as well as cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc. and now in late 50's we are all thankful for that. One of those lessons to "think for yourself" is the example you just used.

Same here. As active as I was in the church growing up, I started to become confused about what they taught us as far as Sunday being the sabbath. Never taught us about fasting or how the Bible says not to eat pork (now I know about parasites & what they do to the body). I avoided open brain surgery with fasting, turmeric, & prayer in just 3 days. Matthew 17:21 on prayer and fasting is missing from the Bible I’ve used since confirmation. My faith in God has never been stronger but I question the church now more than ever.

That's right, the Sabbath starts Friday at sunset and ends Saturday at sunset, 24 hours.
The word "Sabbath" has been kept until today in different variations in over 50 languages of the world. For example:
      polish language "Sobota"
      German: "Samstag"
      Russian: " Subbota"
      Spanish" Sabado"
      French: "Samedi"
      Labanese: "Sabet"
      Arabic: "Al- sabt"
      Hebrew: " Sabbath "

I have a similar situation that stands out in my mind as the Angle of the Lord interveining in our lives... I was going to be in downtown NYC on 9/11/01 leaving Long Island traveling to VA to see a concert that a friend of ours had gotten us tickets to see a band for our Anniversary. The itinterary and child care was lined up and hotel rooms purchased a month ahead of schedule. Out of nowhere... my husband got a job offer, via employee referral, for a contract to permanent possition for 3 times his salary in our home town. We honestly thought it was a joke at first. We hemmed and hawed over what we might do and were thinking maybe we wouldn't move because we had only been on the island for a few months and my husband had JUST finished his training for his new job... we felt like it wasn't right. The oil furnace blew up in our rental... no one was hurt... but we were instantly homeless. Then... even though we had just had a catastophic event happen in our lives.. my husband's new job that we felt such loyalty to gave him a write up for not showing up to work that day. We were a little busy with the fire department and at the hospital making certain our babies were unaffected by the furnace and the smoke... but that didn't seem to matter to the employer. And suddenly the employer didn't matter to us, either. We talked to the recruiter, took the job, had a moving company show up that afternoon and pack up all the household goods and we moved that night. I was unpacking boxes at our new rental in our home state when my friend called and said..."get the kids away from the tv and turn on the news." As soon as I turned on the TV I watched the second plane hit the WTC tower. We were moved. We were absolutely devinely influenced to not be in NYC when that happened. I don't think I would have mentally recovered had I been there. I would have been the 2nd time in my life that I witnessed the result of planes taking out masses of civilians... the first time was in Ramstein Germany in 1987. The PTSD from that NATO event was still with me at that time in 2001. God interveined. I trust he will interviene again if that is His will. "I am a servant of the Lord and I will do as He commands" ~God's most favored.

Jeas4980, I have one that stands out in my mind too with my youngest son, many moons ago when he was walking down the road one day coming back from where he never should have been. He had fallen into the wrong crowd, and was totally blitzed at the time that this happened. He recounted the experience to me when he came home. At the time, I was just grateful it wasn't the cops again bringing him home (they actually used to do that back in the day).
He said, "I was just happily walking along, and I heard someone say, "Cross the road". No-one was there so I ignored the voice. Then again, much louder, "Cross-The-Road". No more did I get to the other side when a drunk driver came off the road and sped straight through where I would have been. I stood there in shock realizing that, stoned or not, the Holy Spirit had just spoke to me and spared my life ".
God is indeed very faithful, loving, and kind, and you are right... He absolutely does intervene in our lives.

@@kristycook6041 It means it was not his time to die, and Angels only intercede when it's Not time. I had the same experience when I took a ride w Ted Bundy when I was 19yrs. I heard in my left ear, "Get OUT of the car, now!" I near didn't believe it, then Again, Louder along with a physical Push on my left shoulder..."GET OUT OF THE CAR, NOW !!!" I grabbed my Harper Study Bible off his dash (yeah, can you believe the Bible in Ted's face) and the door handle at the same time and jumped out. He begged me to get back in. I stood on the curb and said to God, "Please, one day tell me what that was all about." Several years later, Ted's face was on the front page of the Rocky Mountain News saying he was being executed, and I gasped. Your son is here for a Reason, and so Am I.💗 AMEN !

Danny, I really appreciated this video so much. Thank you.
My very Italian husband "had his work, and I had mine" for our 50 years of marriage. Now, retired, going on 53 years, he has learned to take clothes out of the dryer and fold them!! lol. He can cook his eggs for breakfast, but nothing fancy, and hot dogs.
He tried to cook bacon, as I do in the oven: well I had to remedy it.
He doesn't try to make hamburgers anymore, because they look like big meatballs, ( and I won't eat them). He just can't cook, though I try to guide him. In that, well, he just doesn't want to be taught. Not part of his job. But he's obviously a good man, 53 years is a lifetime. So, his comfort zone, in some ways, are impenetrable. That's fine)
But this video certainly made me smile. Especially when waiting for your wife, Wanda, in the car and sounding the horn. That is Him. I got to the point that in getting 5 children up & running to go to Church, I just couldn't take the pressure any more- but my children were there, so God saw that. And my husband is a diabetic, so dinner had to be ready on time.
Your video really hit home for me)) Very detailed and enjoyable)
Thank you, again..will make sure my husband sees this on**

Thank you Danny and Wanda. I need some prayer. My son-in-law has a huge backyard. I asked my daughter if we could grow some vegetables. She said no that it was too much work. (Even if I took care of it. Every day.) Now there’s a comfort zone. 🤨🙏

  • @onedazinn998

We love you too Danny ;) I needed to hear this...I have to laugh because I tried to multitask and just let it play in the background; but the Holy Spirit took hold of me and said "pay attention". ;) So I stopped, hit rewind...and listened. I enjoy your stories which might seem like rambling to some...but you always use the illustration to teach just like our Lord did.
This is my first gardening season back after being so very ill from heart failure, lung collapse, medication reactions, two hospitalizations, slow recovery and now 10 pills a day that I'm trying to wean off of though the doc says...it's forever. >.< I'm on my feet, but I'm feeling the lack of confidence to return to a strong, homesteading lifestyle. It's only me working it for the most part & I wish I had more help. But I've stepped out of my comfort zone (physical & mental) and just went for it this year as I am the leader in this regard. I have to fight 3 years of overgrown acres (poison hemlock, thistle & poison ivy & other noxious weeds trying to take over with every other weed...) I have to: I pick my battles one day at a time & hope that my body keeps up with planting time. I bought some seed that might be ambitious for me to try like Armenian melons which I know nothing about growing...but I'm gonna listen to the Spirit urging me through your chat today. Step out of my comfort zone...just try.
Now is the time to actually grow food & stop talking about it for many of us. With my health and age at 64, I can choose to just throw up my hands and say "I can't", but I feel the Lord is telling me I can...and He saved me from death & brought me healing & blessing - I trust Him. I know in my gut, that I need to do this or we won't survive what is coming. So I move a step closer to my goal one day at a time right? I can plan, till, sow, weed, water, protect, - the Lord brings the harvest. It will be worth the struggle and the effort to break out of my comfort zone and just try. If I fail, I know there is a lesson in there for me from the Lord and it will be worth the effort. I needed this chat today brother...thank you :)

I remember on Thanksgiving I was working, and I was trying to close the shop early to meet up with my family in New Orleans. Everytime I tried to close a customer would pull in the driveway to buy stuff before I could leave. Finally about 10 minutes later I was able to lock up and leave. We was driving for about 30 minutes on highway 90 and there was an accidents that must have happened a few minutes earlier. There was no police there yet and you can see people ahead pulling over trying to help. After we passed it up, I can tell there were about 3-4 people dead. They was just hanging out the door or lying on the ground and no one was attending to them. I was thinking man if we would have left 10 minutes earlier that probably would have been us in that accident. A few days later I check the accident online and found out that 4 people passed and 2 was alive.

I remember when I was a child, my dad loved motorcycles. There was one specific motorcycle that dad wanted and my mom told him not to get it because one day he would not come home. He ended up getting that motorcycle, and 40 years ago yesterday, my dad did not come home. My inebriated friend insisted on driving his truck and I flat out Refused to go with him, he was mad. I sensed an accident. A few hours later, he flipped and totaled his truck. He was okay, but had I Not Listened, I surely would have broken a few bones. Thank You, Jesus !

This year I have added wind chimes, a bubbling water fountain, and now electroculture copper coils, and antennas to my garden. I can't say it's made a difference in my crops, because I'm not doing a controlled experiment it's everywhere in my Garden. What I can say is I feel like the birds are greeting me every morning when I come outside especially the Robin's. It's as if we're friends now. I've always put water out for the birds hoping that they drink the water instead of poking my ma'ters for a drink but I think they like the sound of the splashing sound too. We live in a rural subdivision and we are the only ones I guarantee you we live differently than all the houses here 😆 we actually have a joke in our house with mowers bc you are right about everyone mowing the same time and keeping up with the Jones😆😆. When one neighbor mows the house beside that one gets their mower out and mows and so on down the line 🙄 we let ours go for weeks 🤣 We have neighbors that mow every other day the grass don't even need it but we will go a month or longer🤣 Everyone up here has nothing in their yards except swimming pools and green landscape with no dandelions, our whole backyard doesn't need mowed bc every inch is a food forest lol. The front yard is about the same with very little mowing bc of pines, maples, persimmons, and chestnuts plus blueberry bushes around the front of the house 😆 when people step in our backyard for the first time, they think two things either were hoarders and have too much going on, or (most of them) are truly amazed at all the production of food we have going on, and want to do it too but never do bc they are too busy running to sports or vacations 😀 we live a very simple life with only one debt. Everyone else is trying to empress their neighbors with their electric car, new campers ,new boats, new jeep, new seado and fancy grass🤣🤣🤦‍♂️ It's gonna be interesting when things get real! I know God placed us here though to be a light to others who have abandoned their God and are too consumed on worldly things.

I had the privilege of participating in a program that I guess might be comparable to Outward Bound when I was in my 30's. We spent six days doing things like a zip line, rappelling down a cliff, running four miles (through mountainous terrain) . . . it gives you a tremendous sense of self-confidence - "If I can do THAT, I can do anything!" It entailed stepping way out of my comfort zone - and remaining there for nearly a week - and was one of the best experiences of my life.

Danny my nephew when he was about 3&1/2 - 4 years old who got ran over with a riding lawnmower. Our next door neighbors were going to go somewhere & they kept getting to do to this & that & just couldn't get going out of their house. He had experience and new what to do to slow the bleeding or he would have bled to death before the rescue squad could get him & get him to the hospital but God kept them at their house because of what was going to happen. My nephew had to learn to rewalk and live with his disability. God knows what is going to happen and until the thing happens we have no idea how he planned it. Hes now 52 and lives a good life.

Good morning deep south. We have had a good bit of rain some stuff is muddy.
That would be pretty interesting because maybe the fact that you have the nylon netting all the way around creates like that box . Then all the antennas in there are maybe pulling like the electricity down and of course you know it's maybe just ricocheting back-and-forth off of that nylon and basically the plants are getting instead of just you know the single dose through the antennas maybe it's bouncing off of it in some fashion back to the plant and they're getting hit with maybe double or triple kind of like an echo location wave works you know when it goes out it hit something and bounces back maybe that's how it's working is it's coming down through hits the antennas goes out like an echolocation bounces off and comes back I mean it theory course but😂.
Also if you used metal post that could be adding to the electro culture.?
I work 8 hours a day and go home to do my garden, goats and chickens. I would love to get away from the 7-3:30 job lifestyle and live a more free life style.

Howdy Danny and Wanda. You two are busy, busy with picking those beans.
Plus got lots of other good produce.
Finally warmed up here now in 80's so work outside in the morning and evenings when it's a bit cooler.
I do hear you on routines. I have been stepping out of my comfort zone a lot these days.
I have neighbors that look at me like I'm a dirt bag because I don't do what everyone else is doing.
I laugh to myself sometimes and think I need to put up a sign that I don't keep up with the Jones lol
I've worked for others at times but I prefer to work for myself and working hard to bring in an income.
I look forward to getting my ponds done and can sit by them if choose to.
No beach for me. It's just a lot of debauchery there.
The angel of the Lord watched over you and your family that day going to church.
He knows how to protect us and leads us.
Sadly many are going to fall for this scientific and be led astray.
I want to continue to know how to live on a daily basis rather than be in a rut.
That was a learning experience with those bees.
I very much appreciate what you've shared. I desire to step out in Him continually and He'll always be there
no matter the outcome. That's not in my hands but trusting him, living by faith and being bold for Him
has more benefits than silence and conforming.
Be blessed as you go forward and thanks again for sharing.

Having a routine drives me nuts. I am very sporatic. I am rebuilding a vintage camper to turn it into a concession trailer. I am glad that i looked at it in the evening when i couldnt see the extent of the damage because i might not have bought it. Now i have it and have to tackle it. It has been a challenge but i am getting there.

When I was about 7 years old I went exploring in the country with my brother and my cousin who were both a few years older than me. My cousin was the oldest and the leader and he pointed out some poison oak and warned us to stay away at all costs. At the time, I've heard of it and have had knew people who got it, so people get it some don't, but this was the first time I've seen it. I told him I didn't get poison oak and he laughed at me. Probably trying to act cool or be accepted or something(he might of dared me) but I grabbed one of the fan leaves of the plant and rubbed it all over my chest and my stomach all over my arms. We had our shirts off because it was hot so I rubbed everywhere. Sure enough that evening I couldn't stop itching and heard my brother laughing at me all night long. The next night I slept in a sheet with both my eyes swollen shut and ended up staying home from school for a week in the unwanted condition anyone could ever ask for. It was absolutely the worse but I had to find out for myself! Great video...I'm gonna go watch another one!🤙SHAKA

Like you, I've never seen the attraction of going to the beach - but I love the mountains! I have felt closer to God in the high country, where you can see across the mountain tops for miles, where a stream is actually clean enough to drink, the wildlife is thriving - I've enjoyed the beach, the few times I went, but just don't feel any attraction.
