I have known about Chris / daily refinement since he went by 10k on the bay ( 7 + years ago). 10k got in to it with another reseller i really respect. I am not going to name this reller but they were a founding member of a large reseller group and used to put out a fair amount of youtube content our back then. Because of life they had to take a step back. Not long after these guys got into into it 10k became daily refinement. I have kept an eye out on Chris from time to time and it has been a patern . Suspended from ebay for life , bad mystery boxes, whatnot etc . He reinvents himself gets into some mess because of bad business practices and then does it again. Its crazy how much folks defend the guy. They often say they owe they're success as a reseller to Chris. It reminds me of the old saying: you can hit a sharp lick with a crooked stick. The best scams generally have a lot of truth mixed in with the bs . Chris is very smooth / slick !
Apparently, he is not so slick if he gets repeatedly caught, changes his name, and re-invent himself with another scam. He always said that he wanted to be a millionaire... never explained the strategic "how."

I paid $150 for a box of 25 vintage band tees from Chris, only 5 of them were band tees and only 10 of them were vintage. I was so devastated I have never purchased an item on WhatNot again because it left such a sour taste in my mouth.
Aren't they supposed to show the contents of mystery boxes after the sale, so you can do something about it before it's shipped? If he didn't sell you what he promised, that would be a 1-star if it were me.
I gave him a try when they were selling mystery pants in certain sizes, I thought I will do this and see how well it goes, the pants were tan with burgundy triangle shapes all over, they were UGLY… I knew I might be buying a pig in a poke , and I spent around $15 so I paid to learn that lesson NEVER again 😮

This is the best podcast; it cracks me up every time I listen. Dave, I swear is my ADHD kindred spirit. I so relate to the squirrelling and randomness of all of his videos. Carey reminds me of my younger brothers, goofy. Lol. I have been selling on Ebay on and off since 1998, but after this past school year, quit my job teaching high school special education in an inner- city Title I school. So, I most relate to Kevin...we are around the same age (I think I have a year on him), both former teachers, and both remember waiting for cash and money orders for our Ebay sales. Leaving teaching was hard but necessary, when the stress starts to affect your physical health, it is time to walk away. I actually had a torn retina wall due to stress and had to have laser surgery to fix it. I was tired of the disrespect by students and continuing to drown in paperwork, teaching was definitely not the same after covid. So, Kevin you kind of gave me the courage to walk away. Thank you.

At 1:13:00, Dave clearly describes a tonsil stone. And yes, they smell awful...it's the bacteria that's growing on the food that's been lodged in a hole in your tonsil for days on end. Not at all reselling related, but a common problem many people experience and I'm not shocked at all that it was covered in this podcast. (I'm binge watching past episodes so I don't miss any comedy gold.)
1:15:12 I found 1100.00 in a book from Goodwill. It was in an envelope and I felt horrible that I could not find any information of who it belonged to. But I appreciated finding it!!!
I believe it is the same principle...if you find money in the community, you are to report to local police, and if no one claims it...then it is yours. Sometimes, the News present these humanistic stories...people doing random acts of kindness...turning found money, and the owner may reward with a few dollars In your case, I am not passing judgement....it was most likely GOD sending you a financial blessing. I once found about 100 naked pics (from the bushy 70’s) inside a cast iron kettle at a family run estate sale…. I didn’t realize it was family run till I gave the pics to the son and grandson of the very recently past ,as I was checking out( I wanted the kettle) . To be fair I was trying to be discreet but the shock caused an uproar amongst the children of the naked couple in attendance. I felt bad it was my most uncomfortable moment in my life . 😂

Whether they are legit or a scam, too many people are focused on what others are "allegedly " doing. Focus on yourself. Find what you are doing well and make it better. Focus on what you aren't doing well and learn from it. Grow and keep pushing forward. I personally think Daily Refinement is full of crap and very narcissistic, but I just don't watch his garbage anymore and watch things that I think benefit me, makes me feel good, and focus on growing. sometimes I leave good stuff on the table because the seller is too firm on the price and refuse to do some discount. Last time I try to haggle on 5 Vinyl records and the seller goes "why? Are you poor?"
I live in Colorado and ARC is good when they don’t steal the good stuff. The production crew and furniture crew at every ARC store steals the good stuff, no lie. They have resellers that they sell their stolen goods to. If you want to make money from ARC bring hundreds for the production crew. They are the ones who take the donations. I once found about 100 naked pics (from the bushy 70’s) inside a cast iron kettle at a family run estate sale…. I didn’t realize it was family run till I gave the pics to the son and grandson of the very recently past ,as I was checking out( I wanted the kettle) . To be fair I was trying to be discreet but the shock caused an uproar amongst the children of the naked couple in attendance. I felt bad it was my most uncomfortable moment in my life . 😂
Those pics were worth more than even a Griswold kettle.
I enjoyed last weeks episode, but it’s great Kevin is back.

I remembered when I was in high school I couldnt wait to be an adult and leave all the high school drama. As you all know drama doesn't end at graduation. Sometimes it
gets much worse. I try very hard to stay far away from the BS but apparently even being a literal house hermit I still find the drama.
As a parent my main goal is to make sure my daughters dont grow up to be a&$holes. We have way too many in the world already. Not pointing any fingers 🙄......I swear! 😅 Just be nice is all you need to do. Just not too nice (Cary), or people take advantage (Dave). 😜
@ADHDave , your throat nuggets are called tonsil stones. If your tonsillar crypts are enlarged, minerals such as calcium can become trapped, and calcify (harden) into stones. It's more common than you think. I get them occasionally and attribute it partially to my asthma and allergies but there are other causes too.

Seen so many unboxing of complete junk that will never sell when he claims they are full of 1 grand in profit. Idk. If he is scamming then he should be exposed. If he isnt doing it then good. Sorry you feel that way Margo. I try no to make it common practice to comment on things in which I don't know the full context or both sides of a story. People have done that to me and it is never a good feeling. Making a little superficial humor is one thing but not defenitive judgements of things that I simply don't know.

Whether they are legit or a scam, too many people are focused on what others are "allegedly " doing. Focus on yourself. Find what you are doing well and make it better. Focus on what you aren't doing well and learn from it. Grow and keep pushing forward. I personally think Daily Refinement is full of crap and very narcissistic, but I just don't watch his garbage anymore and watch things that I think benefit me, makes me feel good, and focus on growing. Love the podcast guys. I appreciate you. The one time a week I can just unwind and get some good laughs
100%, whatever is true is true and all of us are best to work on bettering ourselves and our own businesses rather than bringing down others. Any outward focus should be supportive not destructive.

Rockstar's last video said he was not going to be talking about this anymore, which possibly sounds like Chris's attorney may have sent Rockstar a "Cease and Desist" letter.

I live in Colorado and ARC is good when they don’t steal the good stuff. The production crew and furniture crew at every ARC store steals the good stuff, no lie. They have resellers that they sell their stolen goods to. If you want to make money from ARC bring hundreds for the production crew. They are the ones who take the donations.
