I was confused about the cornering capabilities of this. Obviously coming from RR310 i was not confident enough. But when you told how to take the corners in this himalayan. It made my day. Awesome bro

So, 50% extremely good, 50% extremely bad. After seeing each review the decision making process is getting harder and harder for me. I did test drive it and stalled on the first try. The throttle felt laggy and needed to play with the clutch a lot to get moving, my current RS200 seems much better with just 18.5Nm torque, and that's a low end sports bike and this is supposed to be ''truck' like with lots of low end torque. It's the SUV of bikes after all 🤔 But once it starts going it just goes. 3-6th gears are just amazing, twist the throttle and it keeps going all the way up. The weight is not that evident and is kind of easy to handle even in Trivandrum traffic. But like I said, for every positive it has a massive negative too. Typcal Indian brand's deal, gives tons of features and promises then messes up in the user experience department. Good bikes ruined by reliability issues. I really wanna buy it, but the fear of bad reliability of this brand and bad user experience keeps me from buying this. (My brothers Hunter 350 is in the service center 'AGAIN'' waiting for 2nd throttlebody replacement under warranty, meanwhile my 5 year old RS200 with zero service since 2019 still goes solid with out missing a beat.) So forced to go with the Triumph/Bajaj Scrambler 400x despite me hating its stupid instrument console, with analog speedometer and digital RPM gauge, whose freaking idea was that.😂 But that's the only fault on that bike I could find. Looks like I'll wait for the 2nd or 3rd gen of the Him450, hopefully by that time the issues will be sorted out.
Thanks for explaining. Yes, its a mixbag. If you like the positives, you're gonna be blindly in love with the motorcycle. But once you start noticing the negatives, there's no way you can ignore it. Lets wait for future batches.
Ingalu alu poliyanu ta. I always use earplugs, so the sound doesn't bother me. You will only hear the induction noise with the ear plugs on and that is enjoyable.
Im watching this review after 3months very detailed review keep it up i already booked himalayan. 1st my choice us gt 650 after test driving himalayan ill felt awesome soo i changed my decision and booked himalayan . My previous bike is intercepto 650 i loved that motorcycle but its not that quick soo im tought to upgrade to himalayan any ways i loved the bike❤
Any suggestions to set right the engine refinement ? I haven't really noticed the issues once you start revving this is a beast, considering its a single cylinder the vibes are expected. The issues I felt Heating in hot weather especially on hard offroad Lack of low end torque had to accelerate and half clutch to do spins and climb over small rocks This bike will appear more to niche if you have found a liking there you are gonna stick there for a long time No machine have given me this joy .
There isn't much that we can do to resolve the engine refinement issues. But adding an exhaust(or a cat delete) can go a long way in masking the refinement issues. Yes, the motorcycle heats up but it never came to a point where it made me uncomfortable. Adding a bigger rear sprocket(2 teeth up) does make the bike torquey low down, but will end up compromising the top end(which I am happy to sacrifice). There are other mods available in the market like a piggyback ECU, Air Filters etc. which will make the experience far more involving. One major issue that we noticed with the Himalayan media bikes is that every example had its own set of issues. There is no consistency on that! Even while knowing all these issues, I still miss the Himalayan I rode and makes me want to ride it even more. Thats the magic RE has up its sleeves😄
@@PilotOnWheels Very comprehensive review thanks man Which exhaust or cat del do you suggest any models in specific Also will there be warranty issues in changing sprocket or ECU
@@tonnie_j There aren't any specific brands but many two wheeler accessories shops now sell the decat pipe. You don't have to change the entire exhaust. Technically changing the sprocketing will void warranty. But if you have a good relationship with the dealership, it shouldn't be an issue
I clocked 2200km and Lots of small issues with this machine.. 1.cone set sound 2.False nuetral 3.Right side pulling 4.Engine clattering sound 5. Vibration at higher RPM( specially above 130) 6. brake pad sound due to metalic brake pad 7. useless map( you can go to place which maped in app but you cant navigate to a remote area or specific house or the location send by ur friend). Only advantage is good looking and suspension People who planning for this one..pls try to again test drive the triumph scrambler..it may helps from lot of time waste.😂😂 Lot of media hype trapped me😊
I agree with the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th issue you mentioned. But I didn't get any false neutral issues. Different Himalayans seems to have different set of issues. Royal Enfield needs to tighten their quality standards soon! Cone set sounds and one side pulling can be fixed in their dealerships. Brake pad sounds are frequent, but goes away after washing.
