On the Yukon map there are no explosives so then you can’t make horde beacons, which now limits you to megas and demo charges. This why this map is one of my favorite because you don’t have people framing horde beacons and running around with dragonfangs
I remember my first time playing Yukon I went to off limits and I saw a zombie inside one of the biomes, I thought this was a normal zombie from a distance but when I stabbed it in the back with a knife, it turned around and 2 shot me. Turns out it was a mega zombie😂
Raiding SHOULD take a while. It should be a lot more punishing. Instead of being able to soak up shots with a level 3 Kevlar vest, a helmet and combat fatigues, you should be dressed in warm civilian clothes with something like a 9mm pistol or a generic bolt action rifle. Shots would actually be punishing, and every bullet would count due to how hard it is to gather ammo on Yukon. People also wouldn't use RPGs willy nilly due to how rare they would be.
I want to help with the idea of unturned being a survival game by making a much more compelling hunger system in the workshop. The hunger system will be connected to the experience system (of which players will be capped) players will loose their levels as their player starves, and eventually will experience starving affliction affects, like not being able to craft things you should, moving slower then you should, ect. It will be complemented with rarer food
Even when there is pvp on Yukon it's so much better then normal pvp IMO. I'm not a big pvp player to begin with, but I'll never forget the experience of getting whacked in the head with a shovel, running for my snowtruck to escape, and ending up turning around and running the guy over. Limited materials make fights more tense and force you to be creative, and gives even shitty fighters like me a chance to solve problems our own way.
This. All of the guns available are low their so they make gunfights feel even. Most people have bolt action rifles, shotguns, bows, or crossbows. This is what I love about the game.
You literally can't obtain horde beacons on Yukon, there is no raw explosive spawn on the map. The 2 mega zombie spawns also do not drop raw explosives. This means you can't get a dragonfang to raid with, nor can you craft charges. Because of this, construction sites on this map are actually really valuable and require you to go there since charges and detonator spawn there instead of military spots. This way, raiding is not only more balanced, but every single location on the map is valuable, even construction sites. That is why Yukon is a very good map.
High quality video but i just see myself dying over and over again from the cold and walking around for three hours with very meh tier loot with no one to fight.
Strangely enough I feel like Yukon does a really good job of unintentionally inducing psychological horror. The desolateness of the map, the ambience, the lack of players in every server. It just messes with your head. "Am I being watched?" is a question I commonly ask myself while playing this map. Side note. Recently the PDW was entirely removed from Yukon mega zombie drops and was replaced by the infamously bad swissgewehr (I love the gun anyways). That means the only other automatics on the map are the cobra and the viper, coincidentally both snake names. The weaker automatic firearms makes pvp more suited towards longer ranges, or just removes pvp entirely because people lose confidence with a bad weapon.
i HOPE unturned 2 will be super survival oriented, where weapons are a rare find forcing players to craft them (especially guns) and the land is a harsh place to live in, forcing players to organize groups, and maybe gang wars (think of the last of us fireflies vs hunters)
The first release on this map was a nightmare, you we're bare naked and have to run for your life inside a structure or you die 20 seconds after spawning. Mind you, you have "no experience" added to your skills.
It felt like a completely different game when i played yukon for the first time. I was browsing the map list and i saw this yukon map and thought "weird, i have never seen this map on the brazilian servers section" So i hopped in and noticed that my character was getting cold, a thing that i had never seen before, that gave me a reason to make a camp fire for the first time. Then i was going around, from tree to tree so i wouldn't get cold immediately, that was when i found a animal (probably a wolf), that tried to kill me, but thankfully it was all alone, so i killed it with my axe, though my health got very low and i died from the cold. That was the first time i had ever seen anything like it in the entire game.
It’s such a damn shame that everyone only plays Washington and PEI for creative PvP. The best part about this game is the genuinely tough but still fun survival on the higher difficulties. Yukon is so much fun but there aren’t any good normal-hard survival servers with players.
After years of playing unturned I can confidently say that Yukon is my favorite map, mainly because of the snow, lack of military locations and weapons, and the sheer amount of difficulty to survive. The only thing i wish the map had more of is the content had in other maps such as npcs, quests, airdrops etc.
i never was a big unturned player but during the winter a few years ago i play yukon with a friend being my first unturned experience and later i could never really find the same experience anywhere else :)

This video makes me want to play multiplayer, never thought of that because of how all the other maps are just full of people with good guns and stuff that kill you in under a minute after you respawned
Yukon is really good. Very hard to play and it offers a challenge. When I need food I don't just go straight into town. I have to prepare get campfires. Instead of in washington just going into town saying hi to the zombies killing them with my military loot get food and done.

If someone was to set up a base In the dome zombies don't spawn in, they essentially become the god of the map. Get some rangefinders and an LMG from either a mega or a beacon, build some claim flags, an industrial generator and some drills and they can make an AFK defense system to protect the base when logged off. I used this on a PVP russia map and hid in one of the corners of the map. Lasted at least a month until I got bored and flew my plane over to the "Kings of the Servers'" base of which had no such defenses and placed a placecard on my plane telling them where my base was and that I tuned off my defenses. I eliminated competition in my area by claiming bases that popped up and I flew the "Kings of the Servers'" two military planes into water and blew up all their other vehicles a few weeks before I got bored lol. Essentially when I gave them my base, I gave them about 4 cars, a Tank, a Plane, a whole lot of food, and ammo, some weapons, medical supplies and clothes. I think it’s stupid how there’s 0 military locations. Or like a couple small little unnamed outposts in the wilderness that’s just like a couple tents and a medic station that has a couple military spawns. Something that gives you some military gear in small amounts.

Thats just my opinion thx for reading my comment ^-^ .
I am pretty sure there's a yeti in yukon
Playing a pure vanilla Yukon server rn and it’s great
will always love yukon, hope we get a improved one in unturned 2
i like how hard it was chance of death was high
The trolling incident
ive noticed that every item you get turns invisable
Yukon is like The Division’s survival mode, well sorta.
İf You play unturned Yukon in normal mode or Hard İts a really Good and makes map fun
three years after this video and there aren't more than 3 active servers. Yukon could be a very good map if Nelson expand it a little bit. Not adding military, since i hate raiding, but adding interesting locactions that can make the gameplay more dense.
also i once saw a creepy alone barb
Yukon is a place in Alaska im pretty sure idk why people call it artic area but Anartica populations do have lots of snow and sparse populations but it doesn’t have trees at all pretty much therefor my point I say it is based in Alaska and I actually think it’s a well populated place if you look at Alaska populations
It’s actually a territory within Canada.
A sub for you! (Very High Quality Video) :D
Thank you, your actually a smart man and i thank you for that
Lmao you really convinced me to play this map and now i like it
Thanks to you m8.
you can't do horde beacons on Yukon, because you can't find raw explosives
Raw explosives don't spawn on Yokon, so horde beacona can't be done.
Getting owned by a cow was shocking
my best maps :
1.PEI
2.Russia
3.Yukon
Mega can drog the deto the only thing that raid And u cant make Horde beacos bcuz No raw explosive So u cant rlly raid much If Its not 10x spawn chance:)
