  • In this video I compare the Copic Multiliner Brush-M, Faber-Castell Pitt B, Pentel Touch pen, Kuretake Zig Mangaka flexible M, Kuretake Zig Mangaka F, Pentel Brush Sign Pen, Tombow fudenosuke soft, Copic Multiliner SP BS, Sukura Pigma brush, Pentel Sign Pen Artist, Kuretake Zig Brush No.24 and the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. That was a lot of pens (12 in total). I see if they cope with a water-brush and also an alcohol marker. I check out the line widths you can get out of them. I marvel at some, I complain a little about others, the usual stuff. I should stop buying pens and start drawing with them again.

Thanks for the video, I'm about to buy some new art suplies and this gave me a good idea of what to expect. I'll be going with the Kuretake Mangaka Flexible since it's seems to be most suited to what I want.

Great video I’ve been trying to decide between the tombow soft and the mangaka fine for so long, and this video helped a ton!

would you be doing a d.i.y. lead pointer/sharpener tutorial?

I did make a half-hearted attempt at modifying a pencil sharpener into a lead pointer once. Sort of worked. But I gave up making any improvements to it when I realized that I have a mechanical pencil for those thin lines. But I might revisit it one day though

Can you refill the pentel sign artist brush ? I really need to refill it and what ink suit it best ? Thank you

Yes you can. The black plug on the end of the pen comes off really easy with a pair of pliers (Just tried it out ). I've only refilled the non-brush version (pentel sign pen) countless times. I like to put Sumi ink in it due to its better water resistance and light-fastness. Unlike the dye ink that comes with those pens. But I don't know how it would preform in the brush model. So if you're happy with the dye ink I'd go with any kind of fountain pen ink.

Oh man, im so happy to hear that. Thank you so much for the tips. I'll try it soon. I really like the tip of pentel sign artist brush, but its really hard to find the black one in my country. I will try to refill it with rotring ink, cause i've ruin my pentel pocket brush pen after refill it with parker ink.
