It's a great engine; I think it would be my choice if I was buying a non-raptor F-150. I would have loved it to be a little louder in this 2018 but I think that's part of the design leaning more toward comfort.

Thanks for the review. I'm actually going to test drive this same truck (but in black) this week. This video only got me more excited! It's also tough to find reviews on this set up with the bench seat and 18" wheels instead of the sport package. While I'd love to have the center console and sport package, I'm just going to remind myself of how much better this lower Lariat package is than a cloth interior XLT.
can't get this same truck via column shifter & painted bumpers correct? You'd have to get the Sport in order to get painted bumpers but in doing so you'd loose the column shifter correct?

You give an impeccable and direct idea of this truck and i agree with you: V8 remains the best engine, but the ecoboosts motors are very technological. I was curious about transmission, and with your test I have realised that it's good. Keet it up, approved.
Being a Chevy fan, you would probably expect me to blow this up as a bad truck. But it actually looks decent and I would actually look at one, ONLY because it's the best selling truck in america. I have heard many horror stories about plastic oil pans and stuff like that. Not heard as many thing about the Silverado. I have a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe with only 115,000 miles in excellent condition. Only has old car problems and a tranny rebuild happened a while ago (it's got the bad 4 speed in it). Maybe ford is worth a try, or I should stick with Chevy? Also heard bad things about my Grandfathers ford Aerostar that he had in the 80s up until he bought the tahoe (why he bought a chevy)

The 5.0L Coyote V8 is definitely my favorite engine. I have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 and it roars like a veracious beast.

Little-known fact: the 10-speed was designed for better towing, the 1 mpg improvement was just a bonus.

Ford recommends minimum 91 octane. Please do a 0-60 with 93 or with E85 (105-115 octane). Once im done breaking in my engine I might do the same

It probably is a loaner, that's what they give to the reviewers as testers.
