idk i always thought it was fair enough for jack to hallucinate the whole angel-devil-shoulder-shit as he had been in literal purgatory for an entirely unknown amount of time on top of an already questionable mental state
Shows his thinking and inner thoughts, his trial of thoughts and his goals/ambitions. That exact seen in the purgatory was because he wished he could be captain of the black pearl. He wishes he could have his life in order. The flying dutchmen cell scene was about him realising the last bit of his plan went a little sideways as others have finally caught onto his grand scheme, Or is it implied...
Fun fact: that Jack/Beckett scene DID have a bunch cut from it, which explained how before the Black Pearl was the Black Pearl, it was Jack's ship that was destroyed by the East India Trading company, because he'd rescued 100 slaves that Beckett told him to transport. "People aint cargo mate," as he says. Then Jack makes a deal with Jones to bring back his now scorched ship, which was I believe was previously named the Wicked Wench, and thus the 100 souls price of Jack's own soul. He saved 100 souls and thus must condemn it, cause Jones is an asshole. It also has some fun Jack-isms, as well as giving Beckett a little more relatability. Brings the scene up to about 5 ish minutes, which they coulda cut elsewhere.
I'm surprised that: a). no sin for five different people thinking they all needed to yell "fire" to fire cannons b). no love for that shot of Beckett going down the stairway while the ship is exploding around him. It's a beautiful shot and he went out like a boss.
Two ships, giant storm, shooting, and lots of people yelling, also the ocean is not silent, one person yelling fire would not be heard at all. The sin is that only 5 people yelled fire
*bitch. He went out like a bitch who couldnt react at all simply because his plan had met a moderate hitch and was too cowardly to respond in an actual battle situation.
He did point out that the flagship had canons on both sides. 3 stories of canons, a lot more than either the pearl or the Dutch man. He still had the upper hand so that scene doesn't make any sense. I admit it looked good but difficult to enjoy because of its ridiculousness. (incidentally the pearl and the Dutchman should have and would have attacked from the same side, this is a very basic naval tactic that even a rookie of the day would've known.)
9:48 The Black Pearl was once an EIT co. ship called the "Wicked Wench" which Cuttler Beckett used to trade slaves. Jack inherited the ship from the previous Captain, and then freed the slaves and took the ship for his own. It was the fastest ship ever created as to outrun the Spanish. The Interceptor from the first movie (the one Jack steals) was the second fastest ever created. It was modeled after the Wicked Wench/Pearl, but wasn't quite the same, and didn't quite get the same speed out of it that the Pearl did. The Wicked Wench was sunk by Beckett at which point Jack made a deal with Davy Jones. Davy Jones then raised the Wench from the dead and imbued it with his "ghostly magic" (the same magic that powers his own ship; The Flying Dutchman) to allow it to continue to sail even without proper sails (you'll notice that the sails in the first movie are all torn up.) and allow it to travel under the cover of fog. (Hence the fog whenever it was around in the first movie) Jack's original deal was to be Captain of the ship for 13 years, but was mutinied after 2 by the hands of Barbossa. So no.. In the 14 years since the Black Pearl was created, there hadn't been a ship built that was as fast as it. One came close, but wasn't able to beat it's speed. Not to mention it had the Davy Jones magic attached to it until it was destroyed again in the second movie.
Wow. You laid out the whole story of the Black Pearl. But you forgot one thing: the Pearl, after it was raised, received the ability to go even faster with the with the wind. That is how the Pearl caught up to the Interceptor in the first movie, 'cause, I am not sure if anyone noticed but the Pearl was gaining on it, but it took a moment. That is because the Interceptor was the fastest ship in the Caribbean, and the Black Pearl was a myth to many, except those who the Pearl attacked.
If I remember right, the Pearl has no enchantments, it was the ludicrous amount of sails it had for its size and yeah maybe it had Jones Magic but it still was fast and had the enchantment after the Kraken destroyed it in the second movie. In the fifth movie the ship was yellowish with white sails, but since the ship was burned, it was revived with charred wood and scorched sails, thus it was black
I will never understand people who complain about a movie being 'too long' when we live in a culture where many people will binge watch whole series in a few days while remaining almost entirely immobile. Those seem like contradictory things for me.
Right, but he calls anything over 90 minutes bloated quite an awful lot. I don't doubt that this is in fact more than a little bloated, but length shouldn't be the only factor in that.
+Juxtavarious Could you tell me which movies? Maybe they're just bad movies overall in his opinion. If that is the case, then any movie that is kind of long is too long.
Jip W I'd have to go back through his entire library to find which ones specifically. I mainly just recall this being the kind of thing he brings up frequently. Years of things.
+Juxtavarious I don't think that this movie is too long anyway, haha. But I think that's because it kept me interested throughout, whereas I was really bored during the Hobbit.
0:30 Beckett wanted them to sing. That's why he let him sing. The English don't do anything without orders as you can see in the scene where their 100cannon ship gets destroyed.
+Syahmi Rosli (“blackjanna”) Yeah I loved them all too. He should have taken like 10 sins out with the cannon scene at the end, where Becket takes down the stairs of his being-destroyed ship...
Yeah so I'm not the only one thinking that? Also am I the only one to wonder why the fact that Elizabeth hadn't aged at all in the end credit scene, which was 10 years later. I understand why Will didn't age, but Elizabeth should've been 10 years older
Actually, pirates DID have lords. There was a pirate council some time during the 18th century. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Brethren Court per se, but yeah.
@Ethan Baker No I'm not salty at all...even Jeremy the guy who makes this videos admits that their not to be taken seriously and he even admits that he is an asshole himself.
Actually they were the Brethren of the Coast which only had a loose set of pirate bosses. And the rules these movies based themselves, were actually the "articles" plus the East India Company had no presence at all within the Caribbean
10:15 I know this video is three years old, but the one thing that they did cut from this scene would have been the biggest character development of Cpt. Jack Sparrow "People aren't cargo mate"
EXACTLY!! That's so infuriating, considering there's so much more footage that couldn've been deleted from the movie instead and the plot wouldn't have suffered for it in the slightest. Why this scene...?
The scene was deleted because it removes any lingering doubt of Jack's self-serving nature. It was important for the narrative that Jack could cross anyone at any time and serve himself. While the reason why he became a pirate is very cool, it screws up the rest of the film because it becomes clear that he's a good, self-sacrificing soul. It would've made his character too cemented in the moral sense, which wouldn't work for the movie -- he needed to be kept in the line of being a chaotic neutral hero.
@@gweno3287 You're right...i always get them confoosdeded since they are so rarely called by name either. I think only once in the first three movies did Barbosa ever use their names.
the point you're trying to prove is proven wrong by the existence of blue da ba de da ba dai avatar. it held the box office record until endgame came out, but it's not good enough entertainment wise nor in any way popular enough to be memorable to anyone (possibly literally).
he didn't want them to discuss it on screen, he just wanted it to be evident that they talked about it, so that it happened "between" the films and now it's evident because of their behavior.
The sins are for talking about bs exposition and not talking about stuff which would actually be important to the characters if there wasn't an audience.
I am a fan of this movie, I don't really give a crap about what anyone says, I was entertained by both this and Dead Man's Chest. They just had an epic feel to me, and I was riveted by them.
I think dead mans chest was the best one I had the most fun watching that film but I wasn’t a big fan of this one the action scenes were entertaining but the exposition was a bit boring
@@mr.mischiefiknowyourpasswo8224 yes irl the Pirates of Tortuga had rules and systems, all be it strange rules and systems but rules and systems none the less.
16:40 That's not a sin: Calypso does not simply "turn into a billion crabs", this is the moment when she becomes a goddess again. She controls the sea, that's not so strange that she is able to change the weather conditions to create a storm
...are you kidding? The final battle was my LEAST favorite part of the whole movie (and I hated the movie)... the battle makes no sense, the characters are randomly thrown from one side to the other depending on random deals that have no weight or significance and they undercut so much of the tension of the scene with that bullshit with the pirate lords beforehand, especially ending with that stupid squeaky voice joke... the insane physics, the slapstick nature of the action, the fact NONE of the other ships in the massive armada did anything the whole time, the fact that we really have no reason to care about anything but the safety of a couple main characters and based on the rest of the movie that's not much motivation (everyone important either gets resurrected or has some ridiculous turn of events keep them out of harm's way), the random wedding thrown in the middle, the fact that the reveal that Will needs to captain the Dutchman is super overly foreshadowed and not surprising... that battle is a climax for a half dozen under developed story lines to get wrapped up all at once in (at least for me) a thoroughly unsatisfying and rushed manner... the 2nd and 3rd pirates movies made the same mistake as the matrix sequels... trying WAYYYYYYYY too hard to "out do" themselves and add sone new gimmick every time, instead of following the story's natural progression...
For everyone (including myself) who actually likes this movie and somehow still watched this video mocking the film: chill, that's just a guy doing his job as someone pointing out cinematic errors in a comidic style for a living,he's overreacting for comidic effect.
Definitely for “comedic value” as he states at 3:30. I distinctly remember a majority of the theater laughing out loud at the little guy getting blasted backward buy his hand cannon, so WHY is that a sin? Lol!
Brynjar Reynisson Yes he did die. That's why Jack had to hold Will's arm to stab Davey's heart, which made him into a thrall of the Dutchman. Being dead, he could not do this on his own, obviously.
YES i love him. he was 100% supportive of her relationship with will even after she accepted his marriage proposal,, and after having his life ruined pretty much because of her, he still completely changed his loyalties to make her happy. she honestly didn’t deserve him.
Very refreshing that even the "villains" were people too. Norrington was the perfect example of preferring to see her happy with someone else than miserable with him.
He wasn't noble and he wasn't a good man. He gave the heart to Beckett knowing it would lead to tyranny and death, all to redeem his own fallen state that he caused through his own ineptitude.
@@Eggy79 how would he know it would lead to tyranny and death beckett is also pushing order and this might just be why norrington wants to side with him davy jones was uncontrollably destroying ships so how doesnt it make sense
16:41 Calypso is the goddess of the sea. Since she is now released and is part of the sea, she has the ability to do such things 16:57 the Dutchman is closer to the center of the whirlpool 19:03 Beckett didn’t give the order to fire because he was just too shocked at how everything wasn’t going the way he intended 19:10 The Dutchman is unsinkable and is capable of destroying the armada. Seeing the Dutchman turn on them and sinking their flagship instantly demoralized the British armada
+Skylynxify Reborn "We can make you now! We don't need you!" *20 minutes earlier* "I based him off of Optimus Prime, why does he keep looking like Megatron?!"
MrBeaux I agree with you on that. Like I said I can't explain why I love the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie I just do. Which is pretty hypocritical of me, because all other movies which I feel are too messy are movies I hate.
Will can’t set foot on land except once every 10 years. But what stops him from anchoring off shore and letting Elizabeth and his son row out to the ship every couple months to say hi? Or letting William “Bootstrap” Turner Sr. Go see his grandson in Will’s stead?
Obviously late, but Will and the Dutchman would be on a different plane of existence, helping ferry the dead-at-sea to the afterlife. He would not be able to come back, except once every ten years (to step on land). As for Bootstrap, he is bound to the ship (even refusing Will's offer of freedom), so he would most likely not be able to go.
The length also helps the movie a lot. The parts explaining the leadup to who and what calypso is helps develop the battlefield where they fought in a storm over the maelstrom, and which of course cinemasins cuts out the moment when one of becketts men says to Davy that he’s mad for sailing into the maelstrom, meaning there was reason as to why the entire armada didn’t come to attack. And then when they battled endeavor, the rest of the boats didn’t move an inch because they saw two ships of immortality coming their way, which was explained throughout the film. Even though this is a long ass movie, it was made expertly and perfectly, to show every aspect of this reality.
I'm gonna be that guy and say that this movie was actually great. Sure, the plot was overlengthy and convoluted to hell, but that just makes it excellent to rewatch, the acting is top notch (obviously, same cast) and CGI is really good. And frankly, I don't think it lacks the mindless swashbuckling fun of the first movie, it's just coupled to some more somber themes. Also, I think POTC actually needed the background mythology, it's just one of those universes I never get tired of living in and needed more of. So there it is. I loved this movie to shreds, now you can shoot me. That is, unless you've got wet powder...
...I have no problem with a complex story... if it makes sense... one (somewhat obvious when you think about it) thing that completely fucks up the entire mythology about the pirate lords... Barbossa was Jack's first mate and then led a mutiny to take over the black pearl... Jack spends years trying to get the ship back... so at no time are they both captains of different ships and crews... so why on earth would they both be pirate lords? And if each pirate lord only has one of the pieces of eight then how do they have 2 between them? I could have bought that either of them was a pirate lord, but both is impossible based on the story thus far... but they crammed it in anyway so the other characters would have a reason to "need" both of them there for the climax... complicated is ok for plots... just so long as there is SOME level of internal consistency
Actually, a novel published in 2011 (The price of freedom) gives a backstory to Barbossa and Jack and explains how the former got his piece of eight from the previous pirate lord of the Caspian. And when he was handed the piece of eight, cpt Teague told him it would be really important to have later, without further explanation. Hector Barbossa came to be Sparrow's mate later, but before that he was indeed captain of his own ship, the Cobra. It's a long story (go see POTC wikia which explains the thing in the tiniest detail).
no I won't shoot ..I agree...as far as this so called review....it is one thing to take a fantasy, heavily romanticized pirate movie as literal....it is still another to make an entire video about it...stupidity in action...only online do you find an extremely imaginative movie being questioned by someone with no imagination what so ever...
+ThatTechGuy Jeremy has already said that he will not sin Comedy movies. Reason being that comedy stretches reality, and it would be a moot point to sin a movie whose sins are far-fetched and already stupid by the layman viewer. Remember: Cinema Sins does their best to find the original sins, not make light of things everyone else noticed. How fun would it be to sin a movie which basically sins itself?
Captain Orvok It's an Action/Adventure more than it is comedy. "Comedy" doesn't mean "any movie with something in it that makes you laugh" because then pretty much every movie would "be comedies."
10:15 there actually is some extended and alternate dialogue for this scene and it is GOLD. it touches on Jack and Beckett's history with each other which is told in more detail in the book The Price of Freedom, but in short Jack used to work for the EITC as captain of the Wicked Wench (now called the Black Pearl) but when Beckett gave him a cargo of slaves, Jack set them free. Beckett responded by burning the Wicked Wench which sent it and Jack to Davy Jones (this is where Jack's debt comes from). the extended scene doesn't tell this whole story mind you, but there are some really fantastic lines referencing it. the most iconic is when Beckett says, "I contracted you to deliver cargo on my behalf; you chose to liberate it," to which Jack replies, "people aren't cargo, mate." my personal favorite is Jack's response to Beckett's line, "your good deed cost me, Jack": "and you have spared me any possibility of ending up as anything other than what I am, and for that I truly thank you." for all the complaints people have about the pirates movies being too long, there are so many deleted scenes that completely change the perspective of plot points or characters, or just add layers that personally I can't get enough of, like the map symbolism in the alternate ending of Dead Man's Chest or the "no truth at all" scene from Curse of the Black Pearl
Damn right. He was consistently portrayed as very brave and honorable and whilst not a great match for Liz he still loved her and cared about her. And Will too somewhat. The second movie had broke him a bit but he was still very brave and skilled and the sad part was how poorly he was doing rather than him become evil or something. That's what made his sellout hit home because he had given up alot of his morals to regain his stature. And his sacrifice had him betraying his powerful prestigious office to do the right thing and honor Elizabeths freedom and happiness and accept he wasnt meant to end up with her or even with his righteous station but he could still die with dignity. And he had by far and away the best one-liner to counter Jones (aka death). I can stall your death Stab.
@@barrylyndon5552 these characters changed sides so many times in this mess of a plot that I completely lost interest in this poorly written character Norrington. I guess you were supposed to care when he died?
This movie is my guilty pleasure. I unironically love Pirates 1-3. Yeaaah 2 and especially 3 have a lot of issues, but they have such an insanely deep atmosphere. Davy Jones' arc is just... I love his character so much.
3:18, at that distance with muskets, you're right for the wrong reason. The swords have the win. A musket is hilariously inaccurate and slow to reload compared with modern firearms, and bayonets aren't much use in that cramped an area. So the answer is, swords should be winning hands down after the first 30 seconds.
Devin Gendron muskets weren't as inaccurate as you might think, they were still not very accurate, but the lack of effectiveness is mostly because people didn't want to shoot to kill other people. From the distance of between 5-20 feet (2-5 meters) a musket should be able to hit a 2 foot target (pretty good approximation for area that would be aimed for on a person's chest) with decent consistency.
@MightyCaesar37 Imagine thinking morality in the old days was present enough for humans not to be bloodthirsty. Buddy with all the colonizing and slavery of those days absolutely majority wouldn't mind shooting and killing others. They simply sucked at doing it.
+Guardian OMG I loved this movie, and I don't know why some people hate it. But I hate the fact that Will and Elizabeth are not in other movies. They were my favorite characters...after Jack. I watched 1st 2nd and 3rd movie but when my sister told thoose two are not in other movies I just gave up
+Guardian Yeah a lot of the "sins" in this is extremely nitpicky. It's almost as if cinemasins is trying too hard to find sins now because they're running out of content to make fun of.
+A Sandwich (IGN) To be honest, he pretty much bitches on about some explainable things and adds unnecessary sins to make the length longer. The short sin videos involve a lot of "Fast-Facts" like sins which aren't as long and enjoyable, but have great content from the time to content ratio.
4:55 actually, considering the position of the tentacles on Davy's face, the tentacles are more of a replacement for facial hair, therefore he is playing the organ with his beard.
“I heard that none of this movie got on the cutting room floor. They used everything they shot” or smth like that. Worlds end has so much cut scenes that would’ve been so much better inside the movie. Like the scene where it shows a bit of jack and Beckett’s history with each other
I'm not gonna lie, I goddamn love the pirates series, including this one, and even the fourth one, though not quite as much. they're just fun and full of fun performances
@@hafro03 I enjoyed the fifth, the plot and cinematic shots were good, wasn't a fan of drunk Jack and some other aspects, really cool scene when the ocean split though.
That's what I also thought. Surely him killing random men, not even monster men but normal men just to leave a trail would be pretty damn dark for a Disney film. But that kinda creates an extra plot hole in that why weren't the dead bodies tossed into the sea after the battle. Why keep them onboard? Ah well :P
To release calypso, she has to have all 9 of the pieces returned to her. In order for her strength to be returned, her soul has to be completely intact, kind of similar to the whole Harry Potter thing where Voldemort was split into 8 pieces. But in this franchise, there’s a second step, which is to release her. Davy Jones used his love to break her, so someone who loves her has to release her. Ragetti is in love with the Goddess Calypso.
I actually like the whole series. But I understand the criticism they get. They can be unnecessarily long. And personally, I liked the 4th one the best, which I'm pretty sure is the one people didn't like the most but maybe that's just me
This movie makes me wonder why they though the 4th was bad. It was the movie that brought back the CLASSIC pirate plot! Pirates try to get to some legendary treasure, race against other pirates or the royal navi, we have mermaids, fountain of youth, Character go from A to B, pass on C on their way back...And its just pirate lore! Mermaids, Fountain of Youth, Blackbeard, voodoo...what is to complain about the 4th movie is beyond my understanding. perhaps Jack was a little too over-the-top, but i think they were compensating for the lack of Will and Elizabeth taking mot scenes we would rather have jack in the previous 2 movies. And by the way, at 7:16. before skipping, you should have sinned (or un-sinned) barbosa for finaly pulling the classic pirate's "Arrr"
therandomer8 for some reason, its the one I most remember xD The begging, with Jack as a judge was comedy gold, the relationship of Jack and the daughter of Blackbeard was actualy interesting, barbosa got a really new character deloptment, going from the proud, chest-puffing pirate captain to a crippled, wounded men trying what it takes to survive, again, the plot was closer to the ACTUAL pirate lore with mermaids, blackbeard, etc. Maybe it was forgettale in comparison to how the second and third movie were so over-the-top.
MrKlausbaudelaire Well for one they got rid of the ENTIRE crew that was always there for the first 3, leaving only Jack, Barbossa and Gibbs. I personally didn't like that, but I can understand why if most of the cast didn't want to come back for the 4th. I think they butchered Blackbeard. He could have been so much better. I didn't like the zombie pirates either.
The ship can’t make port because it has to ferry the dead. We don’t see Davy Jones do it because he gave up on that job after the first 10 years when Calypso didn’t show up to meet him
2:02 The whole Pirate Lord thing was based off of a real thing. REAL pirates back then actually had a court of 9 pirates who were a council that made decisions for the rest of the pirates.
I can't help but notice that, as a general observation, these videos diverted massively from the original sins videos, which were shorter and actually pointed out the flaws that made you go "what the hell?" while now, it's repeated jokes (gonna take of a sin for this and that, "skip!") and while some points are on the money, others are just there to inflate the length of the video with some cringe-worthy nitpicks. I wish there would be a return to form sometime, that was actually about pointing out the shit that was illogical enough to not work even within the context of the movie.
Alon Shechter Meh, some of the repeated sins remain funny. You can see the evolution in the Harry Potter videos particularly and the last few are still pretty funny.
+Chrispy Kreme well, I'm pretty sure I remember a deleted scene or something like that where you actually see Davy Jones smoking his pipe underwater, sooo... supernatural? Man, you must be quite a smoker to do that :D
honestly i love this movie, one of my favorites of all time, i just think they tried to go in too many directions all at once and convoluted the story to an extreme point with this one
"When a woman explodes into crabs that's probably a sign the infection has gone too far." Probably should be so funny but I was laughing for a clear 10 minutes and tears streaming down my face. OMG. Comedy genius.
You should’ve sinned the fact that Jack doesn’t even get to keep the Black Pearl at the end. We go through one whole movie watching him trying to get it back, and this movie totally undermines that by giving it back to Barbossa.
The story of Davy Jones had way more power without this 3rd movie... If his part in this franchise ended with the last shot of Dead's Men Chest, it would've been perfect!
+Ereptile POTC 1 and 2 would have been crap if they would have end the franchice on the second film cause if was nothing more than a bad ending cause Jack Sparrow dies and i never seen in my life that any Disney movie ended like this also the film end with the crew looking for Jack on Davy Jones locker so also part 1 and 2 would have been crap cause the franchice wasn't complete in the second film whether you like it or not you know nothing about movies and you just talk bullshits
***** I said that Davy Jones' story would have been better if it ended in the 2nd movie. Not that there should only be 2 movies. Learn to read before you start insulting people, because now you're basically making an ass out of yourself kid.
2:08 actually pirates did abide by a specific code of conduct called articles. They varied from ship to ship like how laws vary from state to state but the rules generally remained the same. What's more pirate also had a semi-functioning democracy where the captains and their first mates were (usually) elected.

I'd sin the fact that when the Endeavor is being lit up on both sides, the captain strolls through the carnage in dramatic fashion, completely unharmed as every square centimeter of the ship explodes around, aside and underneath him.
the rest of the armada gave up because it lost its flagship, the flying dutchman, and the endeavor was also blown to fuck. so now they have 2 ships that are literally living legends and you've lost your only decent ship. yeah retreat seems like a good option
Pearl's only "legendary" quality was its speed. Remember, ONE ship had been prepared to engage it the first movie. And even that had been way before everybody learned of the curse and that it was lifted, so the fleur of mystery and terror should've dissipated long ago. Dutchman - sure, but it's still just one ship. Scaring away several ships - that's fine, but scaring away a whole effing navy - that's some high quality bullshit right there. And loosing a ship, even a flagship, is a possibility in any naval combat. There should be procedures and standing orders for this, like who takes the charge next and so on.
+Alknix Both the Flying Dutchman and the Black Pearl were alluded to be legendary/mythical ships in that they had unearthly qualities. The Pearl was a ship that could literally sail against the tide and winds (It was mentioned in one of the earlier movies). The Flying Dutchman could travel beneath the sea/through some otherworldly nature across oceans.
Kenny Tan *Sigh* Yes, so? They had one very speedy ship, and one very shooty ship, both battered from a fight. While the enemy had "fifty plus ships. Not just normal ships, but those big ass destroyers that are like 80% cannons and armoring. Enough firepower to level a continent." as aptly put above. We're not saying "Dutchman" wouldn't kick ass and cause heavy damage - we're saying it's ridiculous that such a huge fleet would run away from them.
I actually really liked this movie, somehow even more than the first, the first i could guess almost everything that was going to happen, but the third one kept me guessing, and that's what i really liked about it
@@leob4403 i mean, that's fair. But the first one lost what it had when it first came out. Everything the Curse of the Black Pearl did has now been parodied and overdone to death. Which, since I watched it quite a bit after it came out, had done a lot to form my opinion. I like it when a movie does something new that I haven't seen before. And I've seen dozens of cursed undead pirates in media. But nothing quite like the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

"has noone even tried to make a ship that rivaled the Black Pearl in speed" correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it was a ship magically given to jack or whatever by Davey Jones because he asked for the fastest ship in the world so regardless you can't make a faster ship therefore making wills backstabbing correct
Nah the pearl was jacks old ship when he was working with beckett then beckett burns it after jack betrays him and Jack asked Davy Jones to raise it and rechristened it the pearl

Oddball Skull Well they do this joke A LOT, it's just their way of saying "hey I wonder if that movie got it's idea from this one" and everyone thinks they're so smart for correcting something that they totally misinterpreted. It's such obvious trolling that I really should laugh more at the people who fall for it.
The locker is basically hell. Jack's hell is not being the one and only Jack sparrow (why there are so many) and losing the sea. he loves the swa, that is why he was beached there with a bunch of himself. He was allowed to wander around because they only get stuck there at sunset or something of that sort. Pieces of eight were real coins, there were probably nine because there would not be ties in votes. Good videos anyway though.
+AgentKFox -- exactly. The song they are singing is supposed to be a mystical one that activates the call to all pirates to assemble, a call which they can evidently hear through the pieces of eight. That is why when the officer told Beckett that the pirates were singing, he said, "Finally!" How or when he found out about the magic that activates the call, idk--that is one of those off-scene adventures that would be cool to see, but they would have had to split this movie into 2 parts. But the long and short of it is that he wanted the pirates to assemble into one big group in one place so he could take them all out at once.
ooooooh.. that makes little sense but it's better than nothing. thank you kind human for explaining. I've watched this movie countless times and never thought of that.
idk i always thought it was fair enough for jack to hallucinate the whole angel-devil-shoulder-shit as he had been in literal purgatory for an entirely unknown amount of time on top of an already questionable mental state
i got that too
Shows his thinking and inner thoughts, his trial of thoughts and his goals/ambitions. That exact seen in the purgatory was because he wished he could be captain of the black pearl. He wishes he could have his life in order. The flying dutchmen cell scene was about him realising the last bit of his plan went a little sideways as others have finally caught onto his grand scheme, Or is it implied...
Well IT IS fair but the guy who made this video is just a stupid Potc hater so he hates every single things about every single characters
plus he was still in the locker
Jack was still holding on pretty good for someone who was completly alone for God knows how long
Fun fact: that Jack/Beckett scene DID have a bunch cut from it, which explained how before the Black Pearl was the Black Pearl, it was Jack's ship that was destroyed by the East India Trading company, because he'd rescued 100 slaves that Beckett told him to transport.
A lot of the things they cut were so much better than what they left in...
interesting. thanks for sharing :)
THANK you.
I'm surprised that:
a). no sin for five different people thinking they all needed to yell "fire" to fire cannons
b). no love for that shot of Beckett going down the stairway while the ship is exploding around him.
Agree, especially with point #2/b. Was probably one of the best parts of the series as a whole. It’s just good business.
He also went out as an idiot
(Hence the fog whenever it was around in the first movie)
Jack's original deal was to be Captain of the ship for 13 years, but was mutinied after 2 by the hands of Barbossa.
So no.. In the 14 years since the Black Pearl was created, there hadn't been a ship built that was as fast as it. One came close, but wasn't able to beat it's speed. Not to mention it had the Davy Jones magic attached to it until it was destroyed again in the second movie.
Nice story
HOLY FUCKING SHIT, I HAVE BEEN FAN OF POTC FOR LAST 12 YEARS AND I DIDNT KNEW LORE THAT MUCH. Thanks G
I will never understand people who complain about a movie being 'too long' when we live in a culture where many people will binge watch whole series in a few days while remaining almost entirely immobile. Those seem like contradictory things for me.
+Juxtavarious Long movies aren't necessarily bad, it's just that this movie contains many scenes and shots that it could do without.
Jip W
I'd have to go back through his entire library to find which ones specifically. I mainly just recall this being the kind of thing he brings up frequently. Years of things.
+Juxtavarious I don't think that this movie is too long anyway, haha. But I think that's because it kept me interested throughout, whereas I was really bored during the Hobbit.

That......is........FASCINATING!!!
10:15 I know this video is three years old, but the one thing that they did cut from this scene would have been the biggest character development of Cpt. Jack Sparrow
"People aren't cargo mate"
EXACTLY!! That's so infuriating, considering there's so much more footage that couldn've been deleted from the movie instead and the plot wouldn't have suffered for it in the slightest. Why this scene...?
Yeah
The scene was deleted because it removes any lingering doubt of Jack's self-serving nature. It was important for the narrative that Jack could cross anyone at any time and serve himself. While the reason why he became a pirate is very cool, it screws up the rest of the film because it becomes clear that he's a good, self-sacrificing soul. It would've made his character too cemented in the moral sense, which wouldn't work for the movie -- he needed to be kept in the line of being a chaotic neutral hero.

Can we all agree on one thing? The final battle was amazing. It was totally worth the price of admission. Imagine if it was in IMAX.
...are you kidding?
I couldn't agree more, that final fight was awesome!

@@GalvakzaMusic why though
Same...
These are perfect guilty pleasure films.
Yeah I agree I loved this movie
You're forgetting that the books don't matter. +1 sin to you.

+ThatTechGuy well isn't that video the whole movie with Jeremy sinning every damn scene? If so, then, yay free movie!!!
Halorix Crin Then why did he sin this one? PotC is a comedy, y'know?

I can stall your death
Stab.
It would have been totally epic if Norrington actually took up Davey Jones’s offer and gained Dutchman ocean powers
@@barrylyndon5552 these characters changed sides so many times in this mess of a plot that I completely lost interest in this poorly written character Norrington. I guess you were supposed to care when he died?

That's basically all of these videos, along with random comments that aren't even sins
The sins in these videos are never actually sins

Wino Forever no hes not, the sins aren’t his opinion they are for the sake of humor

Gotta admit, the part where Will tells Jones "And after which betrayal did you cut out your heart? I wonder" was awesome.
I loved that deal making scene and how the the happenings of the two ships perfectly intercut with eachother
This movie is my guilty pleasure.
I unironically love Pirates 1-3. Yeaaah 2 and especially 3 have a lot of issues, but they have such an insanely deep atmosphere. Davy Jones' arc is just... I love his character so much.

finally someone picked up on this
3:18, at that distance with muskets, you're right for the wrong reason. The swords have the win. A musket is hilariously inaccurate and slow to reload compared with modern firearms, and bayonets aren't much use in that cramped an area. So the answer is, swords should be winning hands down after the first 30 seconds.
Devin Gendron yes they noy at that distance...its like 2 meters mate
Devin Gendron muskets weren't as inaccurate as you might think, they were still not very accurate, but the lack of effectiveness is mostly because people didn't want to shoot to kill other people. From the distance of between 5-20 feet (2-5 meters) a musket should be able to hit a 2 foot target (pretty good approximation for area that would be aimed for on a person's chest) with decent consistency.
In a world with ghosts, curses, and squid monsters, I think anything goes and this movie doesn’t need to have a single ounce of realism
@MightyCaesar37 Imagine thinking morality in the old days was present enough for humans not to be bloodthirsty. Buddy with all the colonizing and slavery of those days absolutely majority wouldn't mind shooting and killing others. They simply sucked at doing it.
I actually thought this film was really entertaining

+Team Super im pretty sure will is confirmed to come back in the 5th movie

Now this proves that each of these in the trilogy are equally loved and amazing
“I heard that none of this movie got on the cutting room floor. They used everything they shot” or smth like that. Worlds end has so much cut scenes that would’ve been so much better inside the movie. Like the scene where it shows a bit of jack and Beckett’s history with each other

Wait.....nobody move!!!!......I've dropped me brain.
He wasn't killing people to leave a trail it's the dead bodies from the battle before
I'm pretty sure .-.
That's what I also thought. Surely him killing random men, not even monster men but normal men just to leave a trail would be pretty damn dark for a Disney film.
But that kinda creates an extra plot hole in that why weren't the dead bodies tossed into the sea after the battle. Why keep them onboard?
Ah well :P
Hard to just find a port to trade for long pork in the middle of the ocean, sometimes you have to make your own.
What?!! The dwarf being launched back is hilarious. I found it more funny as a kid but it still gives me a chuckle here and there.
Ragetti is in love with the Goddess Calypso.
am i the only one here who liked this movie ;(
willcam i liked it
I liked it, great action and soundtrack
willcam Nope, I liked all of them. I really hope the new one will be good!
+Evan Buchanan I licked them too they were easy to swallow in comparison to other movie.
Its not tht i did t like the 4th movie, but it was really forgettable, like, i actually forgot about it until recently
therandomer8
for some reason, its the one I most remember xD The begging, with Jack as a judge was comedy gold, the relationship of Jack and the daughter of Blackbeard was actualy interesting, barbosa got a really new character deloptment, going from the proud, chest-puffing pirate captain to a crippled, wounded men trying what it takes to survive, again, the plot was closer to the ACTUAL pirate lore with mermaids, blackbeard, etc.
I agree completely. I thought the fourth one was great compared to the third one at least.
That movie had a Royal Navi?
Hey! Listen!
Wait a second I get the whole "Will can't come on land thing" but why can't Keira Kightley go out sea to see Will.
I think he's on the other side, ferrying the dead like Davy was supposed to be doing!
The ship stays under water unless "called" or something right?
There's no place for her on the Dutchman
The ship can’t make port because it has to ferry the dead. We don’t see Davy Jones do it because he gave up on that job after the first 10 years when Calypso didn’t show up to meet him
THANK YOU FINALLY SOMEONE!!!
2:02 The whole Pirate Lord thing was based off of a real thing. REAL pirates back then actually had a court of 9 pirates who were a council that made decisions for the rest of the pirates.
And 9 lords mean no ties
Alon Shechter I do miss the editing errors that got pointed out back when, though maybe the movies he's doing now just don't have as many.
Yeah, I've noticed a lot more new shticks like taking off sins have been happening lately.
So if we're talking about wet powder in this movie explain the Dutchmen's cannons being able to work after being submerged under water. Ding?

honestly i love this movie, one of my favorites of all time, i just think they tried to go in too many directions all at once and convoluted the story to an extreme point with this one
7:47 has anyone noticed that even though Elizabeth's father is 20 feet away from the ship, she can still hear his inside-voice?
"When a woman explodes into crabs that's probably a sign the infection has gone too far."
Probably should be so funny but I was laughing for a clear 10 minutes and tears streaming down my face.

2:08 actually pirates did abide by a specific code of conduct called articles. They varied from ship to ship like how laws vary from state to state but the rules generally remained the same. What's more pirate also had a semi-functioning democracy where the captains and their first mates were (usually) elected.
14:19 - "The King and his men stole the Queen from her bed and bound her in her bones." The pirate king abducted her and the Brethren Court bound her.
Michael Vino the king was Captain Jones
God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell.

This movie kicks ass
Loved this movie o.o
I'd sin the fact that when the Endeavor is being lit up on both sides, the captain strolls through the carnage in dramatic fashion, completely unharmed as every square centimeter of the ship explodes around, aside and underneath him.
the rest of the armada gave up because it lost its flagship, the flying dutchman, and the endeavor was also blown to fuck. so now they have 2 ships that are literally living legends and you've lost your only decent ship. yeah retreat seems like a good option
+Miguel Sosa ONLY decent ship? You kidding. You kidding, right?
+Alknix they're only regular ships. the pearl and the dutchman are legendary against that any other ship is just a ship
Kenny Tan
*Sigh* Yes, so? They had one very speedy ship, and one very shooty ship, both battered from a fight. While the enemy had "fifty plus ships. Not just normal ships, but those big ass destroyers that are like 80% cannons and armoring. Enough firepower to level a continent." as aptly put above. We're not saying "Dutchman" wouldn't kick ass and cause heavy damage - we're saying it's ridiculous that such a huge fleet would run away from them.
I actually really liked this movie, somehow even more than the first, the first i could guess almost everything that was going to happen, but the third one kept me guessing, and that's what i really liked about it
I literally think the same as you!
The third one kept me so bored with its convoluted drawn out plot, that's the worst part about it
@@leob4403 i mean, that's fair.

10:15 Not true; they cut a bit that revealed that Jack Sparrow became a pirate after freeing slaves he was supposed to deliver.
The locker is basically hell. Jack's hell is not being the one and only Jack sparrow (why there are so many) and losing the sea. he loves the swa, that is why he was beached there with a bunch of himself. He was allowed to wander around because they only get stuck there at sunset or something of that sort. @@lukaviwifalc1119 It's called using your brain to figure out context
Beckett wanted them to sing...
+AgentKFox after that, it truly was a Disney movie.
