The GOAT of teambuilding posts another banger. These guides have helped me in not just OU but Nat Dex, Monotype, and even some OMs like AAA. They're clear and concise and I couldn't ask for better.
- Weavile lacks immediate, high offensive pressure + "Gliscor is scary" - Latios is too SLOW and frail (it flies faster than fighter jets) - my steel-type without levitate is my only other defense VS earthquake At the risk of sounding like a broken record: if you told this to players in like 2012 they would probably fall into a coma On a more serious note getting to see the teambuilding process again from the ground up + the reasoning is massive. I'm the type of player who has a hard time getting a grasp on concepts that mostly go unspoken and are second nature to more experienced players; specifically: - Don't build defensively, build offensively and focus on being able to break as many different opponents as possible (unless you're going stall) - Avoid adding sets until you have (mostly) finalized all 6 members of the team - On team preview, think long-term as in "who needs to be healthy, who checks who, what is the easiest way for my opponent to wincon me" Stuff like that is the kind of stuff that wouldn't click playing through the game normally, so it's a massive boost to see this. Finally, I was going to joke about how weak this team is to Knock Off due to a lack of Headlong Tusk and Rapid Treads... but looking at it again, only Sinistcha and Volc are vulnerable. Pickpocket Weavile is also utterly hilarious for that lol

I think it would be really cool if you delved into playstyles more, as whenever I try to introduce folks to competitive Pokemon, playstyles and team archetypes is the thing that usually eludes folks the most. Even just going over examples of what defines archetypes, like differentiating Offense and Hyper Offense, or what makes a team Balance as opposed to Hazards Defense or Stall, would be very great That being said, this video does a great overview on general teambuilding :]
I do have another video on playstyles (although I might remake it given how old and poor quality it is). Going over how to build balance, HO, stall, etc. will be coming in the future!
I knew I wanted to run Hstack with Sinistcha, and I wanted it to be an HO. There's only one pokemon that's good at setting SR and Spikes for HO in one slot, and that is Ting-Lu. As for the speed, it takes practice. In this particular video, the building is staged. In reality, it probably took me about twice as long, then I recorded and re-explained the process.

It's called showdex, a very helpful PS application. It does automatic calcs when you're in a game! Your sets are automatically used, and your opponents sets are guessed (but you can adjust EVs)

@NorbertnahumPlatzer Kingambit is good at all Elo. What people might mean by it not being as good, is that it doesn't SWEEP as much in high ladder. This is true. Most people in high ladder are better prepared for Kingambit. That being said, it still is incredible as a wall, sweeper-stopper, and looming threat at a top level.

Yes, it can! To build great teams, you ideally shouldn't use shitmons, but if you do decide to build around something awful the process will be EXACTLY the same as if you're building around something good.

There is no solid line between balance, bulky offense, bulky balance, etc. so I just add what I think fits the team and if it tends toward the more offensive / balance direction, I let it.
Tera, and the fact that Weavile can't switch into Gliscor. Just because you have a pokemon that can kill something, doesn't mean that thing isn't a threat to your team. If it matches up well against the rest of your team, and especially if it can't be easily switched into, it can be a major threat.
Yes, I did do one test game beforehand! The building recording was somewhat faked, the actual process behind building the team took a lot of silently staring at the tier and thinking... things that don't make for a very engaging video. The recorded building was very similar to the actual building, just sped up and with less hesitation.
The video would get very long if I did too many test games, but perhaps I'll create a separate channel for live recordings in the future and upload my ladder/testing sessions there!
I haven’t watched the vid to the end, but you should do a list and framework of which X Pokémon pairs the best with Y (others). Maybe combine it with an AI software.

It seems that a solid OU team will have about 3 Shiest OU Pokémon (see Blunders tierlist) and 3 A or B tiers
Hitting 1 ruination (90%) + 1 earthquake through ironhead flinch (30%) is a 0.9*0.7*0.7= 44.1% event.

Axel is a contact move and I don't like how unreliable it is-- personal preference though, Axel is certainly viable here.

The building recording was somewhat faked, the actual process behind building the team took a lot of silently staring at the tier and thinking... things that don't make for a very engaging video. The recorded building was very similar to the actual building, just sped up and with less hesitation.

I haven’t watched the vid to the end, but you should do a list and framework of which X Pokémon pairs the best with Y (others). Maybe combine it with an AI software.
