A VERY ENGAGING AND METICULOUS PERFORMANCE. I OFTEN WATCH HER VIDEO OF RACHMANINOFF'S FIRST PIANO CONCERTO. I FIRST DISCOVERED THIS "LIVING LEGEND" MANY YEARS AGO THROUGH HER RECORDING OF THE GRIEG PIANO CONCERTO, WHICH I HEARD ON MY CAR RADIO ONE NIGHT IN DALLAS, TEXAS, WHERE I WAS BORN AND RAISED. (FROM A 78 YEAR OLD ADMIRER, NOW RESIDING IN LAS, VEGAS, NEVADA.😊) 💎🎶💎🎶💎🎶💎
An interpretation which is technically precise and professional but which, to my taste, lacks emotions and depth of understanding. The lack of understanding culminated in the last moment which is not only played much faster as intended by Rachmaninov (therefore, the character "maestoso" lacks terribly) but it is also played without any detailed sense of phrasing, real contrasts in colors or just any feeling that the performer is trying to have a spiritual experience rather than mere technical display. Here, I just heard an etude in the worst sense of the word. A big disappointment.
Only a hare-brained,jerkweed troll would write such a an utterly awful critique as this. There is not a shadow of a hint of a scintilla of truth or reason in this cruel diatribe.😬🙈😫🥶🙉😖
@@miltonmoore8369- that is not what he is saying. I am not a lisitsa fan, but I prefer her recording of these works if only because she is more present with them, and more obviously in love. Silberstein's is a much colder and patrician reading of these works. That is the wrong approach, to my taste.

Piano Queen!
It has been many decades since my discovery of Ms Zilberstein. She remains a magnificent pianist.
Great artist Zilberstein, and totally professional. Her Rachmaninov is always deep. I love her Liszt too!
Beautiful Moments Musicaux - Lilya & Sergej are one!

To aver that this highly esteemed pianist has no depth of understanding of this work is first class unadulterated stupidity.👎
