5 Ways To Earn Investments Income

- The goal is to make enough money, so you no longer have to trade your time for money, and if you want to, you no longer have to keep working. The less you want and the less you need, the faster you can get their. I’ll share an example in the next 90 seconds, but here is something I want to know.

1. Interest
- This is money you get by lending out your money to someone
- Always remember, your money is your capital, and your capital cost you time
- Time you can never get back, so you want to be very careful with who you give your capital too, and the goal is not be make double your money in one year with the risk of losing it all, but the goal is to make an appropriate amount with a high probability of getting your money back
Options:
- You can use a Bank
- You buy CDs
- You Buy Bonds
- You can Lend money to people
- The higher the risk the money you can make, but also the higher the risk that you’ll lose your capital
2. Dividend Income
- This is money you can make by giving your capital to a business
- And they business then gives you a portion of the profits
- While still growing your initial capital as the company potentially increases in value
For example:
- I invested $10,000 into the S&P 500 index fund
- The investment has a dividend yield of 1.29%
- And they payout each quarter which is every 4 months ( or 3 times a year )
- So I make 10,000*1.29%= $129 a year or $43 each quarter
- Before you say that’s nothing, wait for number 3 because they work together
Now:
- There are investments that pay a higher yield, which is great but you have to weigh the risk also
3. Capital gains
- This Is the increase in value of your investment over time and you realize these gains when you sell the investment
- Until you sell, the gains are as they say in the finance world, only on paper
For example:
- You buy a stock for $100 and the value goes up to $120 and you sell, you have $20 in capital gain
- You buy a house for $10 next to trash boulevard and it goes up $1M because it became trendy, you just made 999,990 dollar in capital gain if you sell
Options:
- Real estate on average goes up by 5%
- The Overall market aka S&P 500 with the measure I like most goes up by 10%
- This by how much you can expect your capital to go up by each year
Strategy:
- If my investment can make 10% and I can take 5% each year to live on
- Over time, I make more money and I can take more out too
- My goal is to be able to make $24,000 a year by taking 5%
- If you want to know how much you need, just multiply your goal by 20, and boom you get the number, I need 480k ( a lot more work to do )
4. Rents
- This is the only investment that I don’t have on this list
- I came close but got Luckey and sold the property to break even
- That’s another story for another day
- But this money you make by buying property and then renting out to a tenant
- The exchange is simple, you buy property, you allow this person to use it, and get paid for the exchange
I can't provide personal details from myself, but I have a friend who is a Pro at doing this
- He has 5 doors
- 3 of which are in a multi-family house
- And 2 which are in a house in another state
- He makes enough to cover the mortgage and pocket some cash
5. Royalties

I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards early retirement and financial freedom, but since covid outbreak, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform, do I keep contributing to my 401k or look at alternative sectors to meet my goals?
keep contributing! remember you are in for the long haul, but at this point I'd suggest you consider financial advisory
