Me too man!! This song really meant a lot to me and my brother. Especially the part where James talks before the bridge. I was trying to hold back the tears on this one. Such a masterpiece that does more than talk to you. Makes you feel and understand.
I was there! this was definitely the best concert I've been to by a long shot. the flames when they played fuel, ending with master of puppets, playing some GREAT tracks, it was a great night.
Beautiful suicide prevention message by James. As someone struggling with mental health, THANK-YOU Metallica and thank you for sharing Fade To Black Live in Chicago 🤘
It was very cool that James stopped the song to talk about the issue (and also how involved the band is with prevention). Sending positive vibes and best wishes your way for your mental health!
Still got it. I've been a Metallica fan since 1987. I was 15 then. Now I'm 51 years old. Might I add I'm a mad Metallica fan from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺. Been lucky enough to see them 5 times in the times they have Toured Australia.... I'm hanging out like many Aussie fans and our kiwi brothers are too. For them to come back and do the Australian/ new Zealand leg of the world tour they were on before this one. We missed out we were next , James went into Rehab.. since he got out and they started touring again . They haven't came to Australia or New Zealand at all.
When the opening A chord to the chorus hit, everyones smart watches alerted that danger was near by based on the volume lol. I've seen MetallicA about 40 times, I've never heard the live sound hit so hard. I know it's all digital amp modelers and signal processing offstage, but holy shit.... 123db in an open air old school venue is crazy! I thought my ribs were going to break every time they hit that first A.
I think they didnt because of the rain delay possible. Two nights without it was a bummer but they brought all the energy reguardless! First time seeing them live!
I've seen Metallica in the 80s, 90s the aughts and last Friday. They were just as good, if not better, on Friday than they ever were. (Probably due to sobriety.)
@@TimBowmanMedia Same. I have seen them on 3 other occasions and this one by far was the best. I felt the sound from the PA was possibly one of the best I have ever heard live... at least from the location I was sitting in for most of the night. I have been to a lot of shows over the past 25 years and I can't recall leaving many shows being so impressed with the overall performance. I almost am afraid to see another concert again because it will not be as good as this one lol.
They did two shows in Chicago, Friday and Sunday as a no repeat weekend. So they didn’t play the same songs on Sunday as they did on Friday. They also had two opening bands on Friday and two different opening bands on Sunday. Not sure if Boston was the same set up, which could be why you didn’t hear the song when you went.
Can I ask why Metallica didn’t play fade to black in Foxboro? Seems like it was the same set list otherwise? Fade is one of my all time fave ‘tallica tunes !
I was lucky enuff to see them twice the last one was death magnetic tour they blew the roof of the dump went old school my throat was sore for three days and it took me 2 days to recover it was kick ass display of jamming

This song goes right through you. Makes your hairs stand up. Such an amazing piece. I was fortunate enough to see this live 🤘
Yeah. When I saw them play it in Copenhagen in June, I was also blown away.
See them this weekend in Minnesota both nights.
This song is a masterpiece. Hetfield wrote this when he was 20 years old. Stunning really.
Saw them ro times at San Diego, at the 90's, with all old songs like disponsable heroes.

The dark thoughts that James talked about is what drew us to Metallica's music in the first place back then, and helped keep us going.
In all my 41 years, no other concert compares to a Metallica concert. Just incredible to see the guys still at it, still as incredible as ever.
I was there! this was definitely the best concert I've been to by a long shot. the flames when they played fuel, ending with master of puppets, playing some GREAT tracks, it was a great night.
I was there for BOTH nights! What a weekend! Bucket list!
My brother and I were there with a friend both nights, we had so much fun.
I was there. What an experience it was! Thanks for the upload.
Thanks for checking out the video! It definitely was a great time
Me 2🤘🤘
i was there in Chicago that's my favorite song and they played it made my day
My son and I were there, kickass show! 🤘🤘🤘
Such an amazing show. And glad I went to this night. Seemed like it had the best set list.
The set for night 1 was so awesome! A lot more of their heavier songs.

Fun fact, thats cliff playing the beginning part in the intro.
Rest in power forever Cliff

Hopefully you get to see them again soon at some point in Australia/New Zealand! They're sounding awesome live. Cheers!
A little birdie told me they are playing Perth Optus stadium and Melbourne Marvel Stadium 2 nights each in November 2025. Enjoy
i was there!
This was awesome! 🔥 amazing!!
I was right at the stage edge, where Hetfield played the acoustic guitar.
Awesome! That's an amazing spot for the show.

I was actually surprised at just how good they sounded the whole night.

I was there at the front where you’re recording at I almost caught a pick from James it bounced off the palm of my hand
They brought back fade to black! ❤ they didn’t play it in Boston!
Hoping they play it in Edmonton 🖤

Unironically I think that was me who yelled fade to black hahah I have the pov on my phone I cried for sure
I was there.
Awesome 👌
Dosen't look like anyone else was. Judging by the crowd size. Perhaps they were at a Harris rally.
Me too it was magical
@@BridgesDontFlyit’s was near sold out. I was there

Same.
