I disagree. Jerry is the problem. Mike and Dak aren't the issue, atleast not the main ones. He's improved Dak's gameplay and implemented a successful offense that utilizes multiple weapons. Clock management and playcalling issues aside, he's one of the best coaches we've had. I agree on the penalties though, that ruins too many games for us. Now hear me out on Quinn, I'm not and have not been convinced with him ever since he left Atlanta. Send him on his way. In a perfect world, Mccarthy would have been fired, one year left or not, and Belichik would have beem hired instantly.

I'd argue they should of never hired a regular season coach that chokes in the playoffs for a regular season franchise that chokes in the playoffs but giving Mccarthy one more year without extending Dak beyond 2024 makes sense. I think financially, it would make sense in the long run. You cannot extend Prescott, although I think they probably will. He’s going to be 31 years old and he’s 2-5 in the playoffs in his career. I disagree. Jerry is the problem. Mike and Dak aren't the issue, atleast not the main ones. He's improved Dak's gameplay and implemented a successful offense that utilizes multiple weapons. Clock management and playcalling issues aside, he's one of the best coaches we've had. I agree on the penalties though, that ruins too many games for us.
Now hear me out on Quinn, I'm not and have not been convinced with him ever since he left Atlanta. Send him on his way. In a perfect world, Mccarthy would have been fired, one year left or not, and Belichik would have beem hired instantly.

Bingo! Dak's guaranteed money has Jerry between a rock and a hard place. 60 million going against the cap and he's strapped by it. The only way to free up cap space is to extend him. If Dak will be here, makes no sense for McCarthy to leave. And for Dak to say "If McCarthy leaves than I leave too" is a power move bc Dak has leverage. It's a FKN mess!
Also Jerry can let him play out his remaining year, but 60M is still his and against the cap, but do you think Dak is going to ball out since he know he's not getting an extension? If we don't, no money to pay for contracts that are due up on other players. Also Dak may not ball out like you may think. If Dak doesn't get the extension,, that lets him know they DO NOT plan to signing him long term period. That's like saying, I'm only going to give you one year and you're through. Look at Tony Pollard and see how he played this year. Dak knows he holds the keys to signing other players. That's the only reason to extend Dak. We're not getting any better Dak just bc of his motivation to sign another contract.

Micah and CD deserve to be paid... CD more then Micah. But extending Dak to do that shouldn't be the way. That's rewarding Dak for not performing in the post season... again. If Dak really was a "team player" he'd restructure his last year to be team friendly by deferring $40M over 3-4 years so they can pay CD, Micah and get some other weapons. He doesn't need the money, he helps the team, and he gets to play for a new deal, with a new team... or if he does get Dallas into the post season (past the 1st game?) he can get a new deal with Dallas or move on and command top money. Win-win.

Dak was right. If they were going to fire Mccarthy they should fire him. I'd argue they should of never hired a regular season coach that chokes in the playoffs for a regular season franchise that chokes in the playoffs but giving Mccarthy one more year without extending Dak beyond 2024 makes sense. They should have one more shot then they MUST get rid of Dak and Mccarthy together. They can't win anything with Dak anyway no matter who the coach is, might as well let them sink together...
I think financially, it would make sense in the long run. You cannot extend Prescott, although I think they probably will. He’s going to be 31 years old and he’s 2-5 in the playoffs in his career. You can’t pay a guy like that, if you want to build a team. Especially when he needs a lot of help in order to succeed.

Mccarthy has had 3 seasons with 12 wins. That's almost unheard of. This team is on the cusp. They'll be fine under Mccarthy.
