We need to abandon the completely illusory nature of the beings that we think we are and get back again to the beings that we really are, which includes all this outside world, no longer left outside.
We come into the world from the universe, and we are fed the illusion that to succeed we must take, but if you take you can never take it all, so if you decide to give is a better method, there is only two things you cannot give. Never give up and never give in.
The Q Mind Alan Watts just told you everything, that for self reality to exist theoretically it had to allow its first belief of destroying its real belief of other self(ego) because infinite self reality must be forced to recreate(replay, repeat) its first belief of destroying its real belief of other self infinitely. Eternal recurrence of first belief of and as real existence.
@@metamorphosis_77 True, but rational thought is irrational thought just as irrational thought is rational thought because you can only first believe irrational thought isn't rational thought and first believe that rational thought isn't irrational thought. It's quite strange that I'm repeating this moment infinitely while still first believing that I (self) and repeat are two separate concepts as illusion when in fact I am repeat and repeat is I infinitely, but the majority of believers are irrational as self history just as some believers are rational as the minority as self history.
@@JeremyKilroy every person is a product of their environment. Every individual experiences life differently and those experiences shape our minds. Its near impossible to erase a lifetime of experiences that mold each of us into who we are. The best we can do is make ourselves aware of negative characteristics and focus on more positive things.
Ego death doesn't necessarily mean that the ego completely disappears or ceases to exist; rather, it means letting go of attachment to the ego and developing an expanded awareness of interconnectedness and the true nature of reality
I think your comment contains a miseading statement, The ego never dies, it's the limited ego-mind association that dies... the ego then auto-transfers itself into the state of infinite individuality, the ME that contains all limited ego "me" minds, there is only One real ego, one real existence. So, its all about you. BTW Watts was a sensitive very well-read intellectual but over-rated in spiritual terms. He needed alcohol to relax to give talks - openly admitted it. He had a little knowledge but most of his words are from others' writings, eg Krishnamurti / Ramana etc
I'm going to parse terms here and say that what you're referring to is a stage of ego death. I prefer to label this stage dissolution. The experience of the complete cessation of the ego does happen for some of us. It is wholly possible to "achieve" a state of complete egolessness. Albeit a temporary experience for most it is nonetheless felt as an actual death at the time.
The ego is the voice in your head that keeps telling you different little stories about everything. The story of who you are and who other people are. All the time, the ego is evaluating and judging itself and everyone else. And the ego reacts strongly to everything that is not the way the ego wants it to be. The ego reacts strongly if a negative uncomfortable feeling arises in the body. The ego will do anything to immediately experience pleasant feelings again, so the ego activates itself with something or puts something in the mouth for short-term satisfaction. The ego maniacally seeks validation from others so that the ego can feel that the ego is good enough. The ego gets its value through others' approval of the ego. The ego is a false self-image (a brand) that the ego polishes all the time and shows off to others how good the ego is. The ego stands for inner insecurity, lack of trust, envy, jealousy. separation, fears, conflicts and drama. The ego constantly lives in a fear of not being good enough.
“How shall we escape the heat?”-meaning, of course, the heat of suffering. He answered, “Go right into the middle of the fire.” “But how, then, shall we escape the scorching flame?” “No further pain will trouble you!”
I too had one from an NDE, everyone thinks I'm insane now bc of my thought pattern but I've learned I'm a small speck in a big painting and my desires are just that. True happiness comes from within not status or luxury items.
The Dilemma: - The statement highlights the impossible task of dismantling the ego with the ego itself. It's like trying to extinguish a fire with gasoline - the very tool you're using fuels the very thing you want to eliminate. Why it's tricky: - The ego's nature: The ego is inherently self-protective. It strives for survival and validation, making it resistant to its own demise. Using it as a weapon against itself creates a conflict. - The illusion of control: The statement implies a conscious effort to "get rid" of the ego, which reinforces the ego's illusion of being a separate entity. True transformation might require a different approach. Possible solutions: - Surrender and observation: Instead of forceful dismantling, try observing the ego's nature and actions without judgment. This detached awareness can weaken its grip. - Transcendence through experience: Engaging in practices like meditation, mindfulness, or other spiritual activities can create experiences that transcend the ego boundaries, offering glimpses of a larger reality. - Shifting focus: Focus on cultivating qualities like compassion, humility, and connection with others. These can naturally diminish the ego's inflated sense of self-importance. Remember: - Ego dissolution is a gradual process, not a one-time event. Be patient and kind to yourself. - The goal isn't to completely eradicate the ego, but to understand its limitations and move beyond its control. - Seek guidance from teachers, communities, or practices that resonate with your beliefs and can support your journey. I hope this helps :) @sunn_boss537

I've been searching for something like this that only confirms my beliefs for most of my life. I got brainwashed by the system and the outside world in general when I was growing up but deep down inside, I felt empty, it had no real sense of purpose or meaning. Everything I learned didn't fit and so I began the search for my true self, something that resonated with my soul. Through finding that, I found true happiness, fulfillment and connection to the world.
I experienced what I believe to be ‘Ego Death’ last night. The second time I have experienced this feeling of detaching my conscious from my physical being. I have suffered for the past 10+ years with feeling lost, depressed, not knowing what my life is or what is, is. Today I feel cured, I feel I can make a choice to be better, to love, to do good. I have always felt conflicted with Alan Watts, for it is difficult for one to truly live such a philosophy of life to its very end. Although I may feel a deep connection with the world in the times I most abandon myself, I also recognize the importance of the self-regulation that the ego performs within me. Perhaps it is the fear of completely letting go that holds me back? All in all, this video has given me so much, and I thank you once more for this great gift my friend.
@@metamorphosis_77 Its a nice idea that ego, as our conscious awareness of external reality, can address its internal, bio-energetic wellsprings. And is the individual nature of self-regulation the great challenge of the 21st-century, in our need to stop so-called history repeating itself? And is the hard to digest (non-poetic) language of neuroscience taking humanity closer to understanding what modern day psychology actually means by the term "unconscious or subconscious?" Consider: The term "unconscious" (German: Unbewusste) was coined by the 18th-century German Romantic philosopher Friedrich Schelling (in his System of Transcendental Idealism, ch. 6, § 3) and later introduced into English by the poet and essayist Samuel Taylor Coleridge (in his Biographia Literaria). While more recently the nature of self-regulation within our subconscious self has been articulated as need to regulate the stimulus-response system of innate (inborn) affects, we are born with? Alan N Schore puts it this way: ‘The attempt to regulate affect - to minimize unpleasant feelings and to maximize pleasant ones - is the driving force in human motivation,’ Affect Regulation & the Origins of the Self. While our wise ancestors simply said; Know Thyself & Socrates suggested that "there is true knowledge in knowing that you know nothing?" While Orsan Scott Card said: “This is how humans are: We question all our beliefs, except for the ones that we really believe in, and those we never think to question," Speaker for the Dead All of which seems to beg a 21st-century question, does language & higher education make us nay more conscious than our ancestors? Are we still unwittingly trapped inside Plato's Cave? Why does an ancient riddle me this proverb suggest that existential "wisdom is most excellent for those who see the Sun?" Its great to see youtube channels like this one raising the issue of what it really means to be human, keep up the great work.
What an excellent notion! Also like the other comments as well. I believe the way is also to accept the ego as a useful tool in human social world as Alan said, but also not get too dragged away from the "now" as Alan described the experiencing self. The one that sees and hears etc. Fascinating subject indeed :)

but wasn’t what you wanted part of the ego? Like attention, accomplishments, status, wealth etc. How do you differentiate things, I feel like it is not possible to kill the ego. Because i can’t even imagine what that is really, no sense of self?
Its because the whole universe experiencing itself thing a lie. You ARE an individual with individual thoughts, beliefs, actions. We are not all jeffrey dahmer. The only truth that makes sense is Christ and a judgement after death.
How so depression is what it's like to live when you feel dead you feel like no matter what you do the only thing you want is to be non existent you could have everything exististance has to offer yet you still seek happiness you speak more you see everything for what it is instead of being in a bliss blind nature of living i'd rather go to sleep fuck being woke I'd rather live blind and happy than awake in pain
@@tyleranubis4221 i think it's because you realise that things once mattered, no longer do. Status, prestige, accomplishments etc are a funny game to play, but if you take it seriously and forget it's a game you start to suffer. So the question comes why do anything? Another thing is that you realise that no one can understand you because no one can look at the world from your point of view, and what others were doing and you was just being tolerant, non judging.
When the ego dies, you realize you are one with the Earth. Then, you realize the Earth is one with the Universe. Then, you become one with the Universe.
Understanding the neurochemical basis of ego death is essential as we enter the so-called psychedelics renaissance. It is important to distinguish between the ego and the psychological I. The disappearance of the psychological I is dangerous, it is called psychosis. As long as we are in the human body, we need the psychological I to cope with everyday life. The ego, on the other hand, is an artificial, infantile entity, filled with fear, the desire for importance, for being right. It is this ego, which must die. Some spiritual teachers forget to explain this important difference, which may cause psychic desease.
Being well adjusted to a psychotic society is not healthy. Yes, we need to larp so we don't scare the other larpers but we don't need to be fooled into thinking that society is the measure of all sanity and morality. Society has become a cult of conformity, claiming to monopolise sanity while mass ending babies! Being classified as mad by such people is a badge of honour. 😅
Not true. We need nothing more than what we are. We can create identities even ever changing to be helpful in creating whatever experience we prefer but we should not identify with these they should be seen more simply as a character or sim. Not actually us. The mind is not us so any 'i' that would reside within it is also not us. The mind is only a tool. As would an identity be. But to know that we are noone, no name, color, what we call personality or charactorists, none of that is actually us. To know that is good
I've slowly been killing my ego for the last 20 years or so. I read a lot of Alan's writings back in the '60s. He really made an impression on me and not too many people do. I think I communicate with just about everything I'm capable of. I talk to trees (when they sway in the wind that is their exercise) and the grass and the bushes and even rocks. Rocks are difficult because their atoms are moving so slowly. But fish, animals, humans and everything else have feelings and emotions. Just watch, "My Octopus Teacher" to see an example of that. Animals are even capable of altruism when they help people or other animals to escape from traps. Everything gets born and dies, even universes. They collapse over time I believe. Then a new one pops into existence from where we don't know. Also, new inventions help us to overcome our ego. When we first saw the world through a microscope people were astounded. It changes our whole outlook on life micro or macro. There will be new inventions in the future that will allow us to see even more of what is really happening. Seems to be part of our evolutionary process. Watts predicts people will turn to telepathy as the primary means of communications in the future. He was a wise man.

The ego is an essential part of who you are, it's a satellite of the self. A sub-system, and your persona. It's necessary if you wish to function as a fully integrated being. You just don't let it rule the roost and convince you that that's all you are. Delete the ego entirely and you're on the path to a miserable journey if you're not truly ready for it. True happiness is not found in world but in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Biblical explanation of the Gospel: God doesn’t want anybody in hell, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23) The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Since we have all sinned, we all deserve hell. Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. Yes, even if you have lied once in your life, you are sentenced to hell - that's how high God's standards are of moral perfection because God is holy and righteous, there is not one sin in Him. For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ - for He lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day. None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it and we don't want to be damned. No good works will ever save you. You can't earn salvation by good works, because God will judge us for our sin. Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life and He died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16) We aren’t saved by our good works, but only by the grace of God through faith in Christ. ''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven only IF we repent and trust in Him. This is how you can get saved from sin and hell - repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Get to know Him by reading God's Word. So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13) ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin. While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6) (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. ''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17) ''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10) You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ. As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and get to know Jesus Christ personally today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32) Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

The last 3 weeks have been absolutely awful.A week or so before that I did my first brainspotting session,I went in kinda worked up but I did it and it was really intense.I left feeling like I smoked a bowl, better. The first thing to happen was I had the single most messed up dream I’ve ever had so I called the office and asked my therapist about it.She said it’s different for everyone but when you start, the result can manifest in dreams. The brain processes the session 4-6 weeks after the fact. Then things were fine,I was in a “hypomanic” episode or so I thought.Last Saturday I had a “psychotic” episode AND an existential crisis, which I’ve never had happen before.Today has been rough but I just woke up and I saw a post on fb about ego death and it suddenly made sense.Im undergoing ego death through brainspotting.Ill have a smoke now.

@@JeremyKilroy every person is a product of their environment. Every individual experiences life differently and those experiences shape our minds.
Gen-z really needs to hear Alan's words today. Ego is the fear of death
Mmmm…

@@-WiseGuy- so what do you say instead of “I” ? What do you replace it with ?
"If you try to give up your ego with your ego, then it will take you to the end of time". AMAZING
The Dilemma:
- The statement highlights the impossible task of dismantling the ego with the ego itself. It's like trying to extinguish a fire with gasoline - the very tool you're using fuels the very thing you want to eliminate.
Why it's tricky:
- The ego's nature: The ego is inherently self-protective.
Possible solutions:
- Surrender and observation: Instead of forceful dismantling, try observing the ego's nature and actions without judgment.
Remember:
- Ego dissolution is a gradual process, not a one-time event. Be patient and kind to yourself.
- The goal isn't to completely eradicate the ego, but to understand its limitations and move beyond its control.
- Seek guidance from teachers, communities, or practices that resonate with your beliefs and can support your journey.
I hope this helps :)

An ego used for self-regulation is a healthy ego. When the ego takes over is when the detachment from the self begins.
@@metamorphosis_77 Its a nice idea that ego, as our conscious awareness of external reality, can address its internal, bio-energetic wellsprings. And is the individual nature of self-regulation the great challenge of the 21st-century, in our need to stop so-called history repeating itself? And is the hard to digest (non-poetic) language of neuroscience taking humanity closer to understanding what modern day psychology actually means by the term "unconscious or subconscious?" Consider:
The term "unconscious" (German: Unbewusste) was coined by the 18th-century German Romantic philosopher Friedrich Schelling (in his System of Transcendental Idealism, ch.
While our wise ancestors simply said; Know Thyself & Socrates suggested that "there is true knowledge in knowing that you know nothing?" While Orsan Scott Card said: “This is how humans are: We question all our beliefs, except for the ones that we really believe in, and those we never think to question," Speaker for the Dead
All of which seems to beg a 21st-century question, does language & higher education make us nay more conscious than our ancestors? Are we still unwittingly trapped inside Plato's Cave? Why does an ancient riddle me this proverb suggest that existential "wisdom is most excellent for those who see the Sun?"
Its great to see youtube channels like this one raising the issue of what it really means to be human, keep up the great work.
What an excellent notion! Also like the other comments as well. I believe the way is also to accept the ego as a useful tool in human social world as Alan said, but also not get too dragged away from the "now" as Alan described the experiencing self.
The ego, on the other hand, is an artificial, infantile entity, filled with fear, the desire for importance, for being right. This.
To know that is good
For those who have experienced death, life has a renewed vigor those who have not experienced it will never know until the end
You can't experience death
That makes alot of sense, technology and mindfulness can work together fantastically.

"I was born lost and take no pleasure in being found."--John Steinbeck
True happiness is not found in world but in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Biblical explanation of the Gospel:
God doesn’t want anybody in hell, but you must understand why
we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go
there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but
rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam
sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23)
The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23). Since we have all sinned, we all deserve hell.
Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will go to hell. Yes, even if you have lied once in your life, you are sentenced to hell - that's how
high God's standards are of moral perfection because God is holy and righteous, there is not one sin in Him.
For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ
- for He lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day.
None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all
have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10). Our carnal mind is hostile to God; it does not submit
to God's moral law and it never will (Romans 8:7). We hate the thought of God for the same reason a criminal
hates a policeman - we know we have sinned against God and are guilty of it and we don't want to be damned.
No good works will ever save you. You can't earn salvation by good works, because God will judge us for our sin.
Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life and He died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16)
We aren’t saved by our good works, but only by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven only IF we repent and trust in Him.
This is how you can get saved from sin and hell - repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Get to know Him
by reading God's Word.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13)
''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15)
''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19)
Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8).
Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6)
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually.
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)
''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7)
If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousnes -
to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God.
You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace
revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son.
''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17)
''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10)
You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ.
As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so.
In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.''
''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19)
''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41)
''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body,
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21)
''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4)
''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God,
who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12)
Please get right with God and get to know Jesus Christ personally today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32)
Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!
Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''
@@jesusisking3814 sounds like slavery with extra steps, and for such a holy guy who doesn’t sin he sure does cause a lot of suffering. Look into Gnosticism I think you’ll find better answers there and you might even be able to free yourself from the chains of a man made system of control
@@Demomandan We're are all in bondage with sin but Christ can break the chains and release you. True freedom is found in Christ not in worldly wisdom. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
@@jesusisking3814 sure man believe whatever makes you feel good but don’t be a “the world is ending you need to be saved by Christ” guy cause all that does is push people away from your message. And anyways Christianity is not the end all be all of life it’s a man made religion just like every other religion a form of control. “Turn the other cheek” just another way to say don’t fight the oppression just go with it and maybe god will have a special place for you in heaven if you follow all the rules and bend the knee to your king.
@@Demomandan All Scriptures in Bible are inspired by God not men. It's an instruction book for us. Christianity is not just a blind faith, religion and collection of good deeds so maybe one day God will let you into Kingdom. No, it is about receiving the Holy Spirit, letting Him transform you from the inside out, having a intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ because He is a Spirit and He can live inside your heart. If we are sealed with His Spirit, we have a promise from God that we are saved and will inherit the Kingdom of God. And all that is because of God's grace not by my good works. Praise God for He is graceful.
I think at the point of "dying," the "enlightened soul" in a sense casts-off the body like a snake shedding skin or Conch tossing a shell in search for a new one. Unlike the conch though an enlightened soul doesn't go searching for a new "shell," has no need for one anymore, we can bare our vulnerabilities because we have none.

Such insightful words. Ego death is amazing to experience
Hey I’m just wanna know is it worth having that experience of ego death I never had go thur it but I’m just curious about the experience and what does for you or how it’s changes you ?
4:55 Interesting choice of imagery, right when Alan Watts talks from the perspective of people who say how "it's difficult to give up the ego". Two circling spirals symbolizing hypnotic gaze. Sharp, pointy teeth. Like a predator, or a demon, or some sort of an ill-wisher.
I almost cried! Really powerful! He thought of this in the late 60s early 70s...? I wonder what he would think or say about today.
He did.
Beautifully animated video, it really helped illustrate what he was saying.
Your video editing skills are great. I love your graphics. They fit the message well. BTW the problem of ego is that it is reinforced by habit(s). To save the world we need to change our habit(s) even if they go against our ego. Even habit(s) of thinking.
It is reinforced when various social agents provoke us to use it so that we oppose their narrative actually. It is quite a complicated issue and I will analyze it in depth in a different video.
@@metamorphosis_77 it's quite complicated to attain ego death when we are constantly around people that are noway near this mindset or even have the acknowledgement that egos are just a big show :) they keep calling "us" by our names, they keep interact with us as egos and we're always having social interactions and responsibilities. This is even harder in today's time where we have profiles on social media that contain memories as egos, our names are everywhere, and we text as egos... its almost impossible. I say the ideal state would be being enlightened while able to play the social game. Now THAT would be a lot of fun 🤩.
Sorry if my message isn't well structured but i hope u got my point.
@@mompsvybrathor1961 Alan talks about playing the social game in another talk. He says we are meant to during adulthood and in our older years we return back to nature to rid ourselves of the ego. We are here to play and then reflect before our time .

Being versus Doing. Alan placed all his bets on Being, I think he made a wise choice.
The ego can never completely be washed away, not while icing in this experience

Thhis was so profound to me. Thank you for this video.
That is the person that is the blueprint I just saw one sees oneself and others this is how he sees his world and how can we change that in an instant by understanding how we should think once that's mastered
The man Alan watts could be the smartest man on earth. Who else do you know that’s ever been this intelligent, nor holding the ability to understand life in such a highly, simplified manner, Alan Watts
One of the most impactful speeches of Watts's I've come across so far in that short of a time span, thank you, very well edited and much needed :)
"We don't really know how to stop." Wow.

My first and only ego death experience through psychedelics broke the barrier of my-self and any other-self. We are all just different configurations of stardust stretching back far before the earth was even a thought. If we could dissolve the ego into a collective superego benefiting humanity as one whole organism, we could set the miracle of our existence on such a beautiful trajectory.
I agree. It is impossible to experience ego death without a spiritual experience.
Late reply, haha
I'm trying to make this happen and dedicating my life to this goal. I will exhaust all of my energy into forming some kind of school, place of deep thought, whatever you want to label it. I hope to spread it across the globe on the grandest scale imaginable and teach these tools for thought to every human being on the face of the Earth so that we may all live our lives in peace. A very tall and daunting task lies ahead of me and those that want to help me along this journey, but I do not plan to give up. I will do it or die trying. This is of paramount importance for all of us struggling through life. Why not make it easier?...
If you still exist on TH-cam, whoever you may be, and you still find truth in your own comment, I would love to hear your deep philosophical perspective in greater detail if you are so willing to share it.

Great Video, such quality content. May i ask you, if you have any experience with psychedelics? I just had my first dmt trip a week ago and the oneness with life i feel is so intense that it almost brings me to tears every day. I would like to know if you were aware of this substance.
Cannot disclose such information online but I appreciate the impact of psychedelics on one's life (based on research) and I am sure one cannot experience ego death without a spiritual experience.
Psychedelics has to be done with good shamans to guide you.. I’ve never done, but interesting way to wake up ha??
Yes! Thx Alan!
I love Alan Watts. I have been reading him my entire adult life and I have used his wisdom in my practice for the last 20 years. While I was listening tonight I had a several wonderful laughs when he said things in such a way that some of my little light bulbs went off and I laughed again when I remembered that he wrote "The only thing to do then is have a good laugh"-Nature, Man and Woman.
Love the editing 🙏
I never seen a video for this guy actually saying what he says, and yet, it is just as how I imagined him saying it.
