The comments are much too negative. I especially like Florez and Fisichella. I think all of these guys know what they are doing and had or have amazing vocal technique. Remember studio recordings do not reflect the realities of live performance.
Bravo, amazing selection of arias, however, a bit surprised Semiramide and Idreno's "La Speranza Piu Soave" was missing. And yeah, the modern scenography on old operas makes my gut twist and turn. Saw Guillaume Tell in Milano (April 2024) and it was horrible, the ballet parts were booed beyond belief.
I was wondering the same thing and I started thinking about maybe he wasn't around when this was done because this was the worst quality recording I have ever heard on TH-cam

Why only three composers? Most of bel canto was considerably BEFORE the time of Rossini.
Most of singing here meanwhile died We are listening on cemetery of belcanto. Why not? Not bad, in contrary, very interesting
