      I think that it didn't have the same box art because it wasn't a remake of an old set like the lion Knights Castle or the Eldorado fortress but in not 💯% sure 👌

    Unpopular opinion but it lacks some character compared with the Medieval Blacksmith. That set was on another level.

    • @jacobelmslie3862
      @jacobelmslie3862 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      yes.... another level is a good way to put it, just out of scale with the castle and this, which allows for so many more designs, yet, raises the cost exponentially. Imagine the Castle done to that scale! 1000 set easily... I still might have found a way to buy it, but then this all takes up way too much room as is.

      I've seen lots of comments saying it looks like an esthetic downgrade from the original medieval market, too.

    • @lifestar333
      @lifestar333 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agreed. It's a nice set, particularly with the hinged elements, but compared to, for example, the Funwhole Medieval Market (which is half the price and includes a full light kit), it looks kind of basic.
      The Medieval Blacksmith set looked and felt like a premium product and it would have been nice if they'd continued the aesthetic.

    • @SO-ym3zs
      @SO-ym3zs 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Doubtful it would happen, but it would be great if he were to review some of the Funwhole and BlueBrixx medieval sets. Most of them make this Lego set look pretty weak and uninspired.@@lifestar333

      I am not too much for the blacksmith as a standard as it really is too big, but great for people who like moc scale buildings. The early medieval market was done exceptionally well for the price point. this does feel a little lack, but what is there is pretty good. PRices though... terrible for bits of plastic. but we pay... so who can blame them. @@lifestar333

    1:40 This may be the only time I actually prefer a sticker on a set. Having the option to flip it upside down, to hang the tapestry, or even change which block it gets put on is something I quite like. It allows for use in Mocks, which a printed element may not.

      I bought the castle it is worth that I think, but very special. I think its overall the best set LEGO ever produced in terms of scale, beauty, fun for all ages and sexes, mini selection, build quality, merge of classic and modern, etc... This is almost there except for the stickers that diminish the value. At the end of the day its still just a plastic toy and 250 after tax (for some) is not the easiest thing to justify when there are a lot of good uses for that type of expenditure. The DnD set looks massively over priced to me... I do not think LEGO really considers the piece count but more the market viability. Yet people do pay top dollar for creations I just do not understand to want to buy in LEGO. I really do like this set though and will find a way to get it, but wait for the GWP that makes sense. did you get the mountain castle by chance? that is one I really wished I could have saved for and a work of brick art for sure. @@bz6046

    Lion Knight's is indeed a "magical" build, which is to be expected for $400. This set is a great parts pack for 2x builders like myself. I already have the Ideas Treehouse converted to Forestmen, on a 4 baseplate MILS, and for my town, 4 goats & herders, cows, ho9rses, carts, a 2x version of the 2009 set (my only vintage purchase, riddled with brittle brown), and a 2x Blacksmith shop. I also built an expanded Majisto Workshop with 2 of the GWP. I took 3 of the Creator Castle and built the blue roof Black Falcon Knight's castle by Made With Brix. Now I'm making it even bigger by building a rocky island/ruined castle underneath. This is a glorious age for dedicated castle builders even like me who missed everything before Blacksmith.

A bit miffed about so few animals and no leg print for the wolfpack guy - but these are minor complaints. This being said, the builds themselves are great and I can't wait to get my hands on it. The piece count / price is great as well (would have paid 10 extra for prints though).
    I didn't quite get why you said the inn/guard tower was better separated. I find all 5 buildings oddly connected - I mean, it's clear that the inn shouldn't give into the painters and the cheesemaker into the woodworker and so on ) but at least in the 3 cottages you can argue it's a family of peasants working together. The inn needs at least a staircase to get to the upper floor xD ? Or what am I missing here/

    I'm soo getting this! but that's to be expected as I also have the castle, the two GWP sets and a few CMF that fit the theme. it's almost a must lol. no joke I do actually like it.
    Might "enhance" it a bit with some more minifigs and animals, or some details, and possibly also split the inn and workshop, to two seperate buildings, but taht I have to see when I get it.

    I think one of the requirements for any Lego set to be considered great is if a non-builder is able to tell, without knowing anything else about it, when it is done. Many Lego sets have this quality but many do not, and look like just an unwieldy hodgepodge (that Lego charges a lot for). This is one of those sets. Not saying parts of it aren’t nice but it definitely does not look “done”. No thank you.

    I know that they have gone for realism in their colour scheme for this set, but I honestly think they should have tried to recreate the colour scheme of the old set this is based on instead. People should recognise Lego as trying to be like Lego, rather than Lego trying to be like reality.

    personally, I'm dissapointed by Market Square. I feel like creators put too many ideas into too small set to fit them all. The "three hinged buildings" look like forcefully sticked together, Inn lack any interior and barely fit two chairs, the cheesemaker hut... seriously, does anyone even asked for such thing? And this one got the most room to breathe, ffs.
    I much more prefered the original Market Street. It wasn't so packed, but at the same time both the Inn and the blacksmith had just enough space to look natural, even after closing the buildings (stable and blacksmith are ok together). The new one, on the other hand... well, there isn't even a wall separating the guards house from the Inn's guest room :/
