I took my young son to see this movie, and the opening credits came on, and I watch him glued to the screen as this theme came on. I saw his focused eyes and his total absorb in the movie. This was in 1981. To this day I hear this song and it brings back the cherished moment of him and me at the movies.
That was me too, I begged to be able to go see it with my parents, aunties, and uncles on a Christmas vacation. I was allowed, 7 years old. Total suspension of disbelief. And will always remember this song, it has a strong transporting effect back to childhood and the water-colored memories of the early 1980s. Her flawless voice and fine-featured beauty were an overload to the senses for a 7 year old boy.
I agree. Some of my faves were Private Eyes, Angel of the Centerfield (or something to that effect) , Gloria, quite a few of Rick Springfield's - Jesse's Girl for one, just to name a few. Going down memory lane sure is nice sometimes.

This woman was, and still is, such an amazing singer, artist and performer. In my estimation, she was so under rated in the 80s. The record labels did not market Sheena Easton enough. The record company did not give her enough exposure to the public. This is why she was so under rated. Another example of this is the Norwegian band A-ha!. . . Anyway, what a great talent. Sheena Easton is one of the many examples why the 80s was such a great decade rich with talent.
She never got the exposure she deserved. I feel like that some of her songs were better suited to the country music stations over the pop market. She would've been a fine country singer in the US with the right producers.
Sheena Easton is an outstanding singer, actress, dancer, entertainer, performer and person! This song truly belongs only to Sheena Easton! Sheena Easton is one of the very best!

This is how this Song should be heard, Live and with a really good Singer. Pure talent. For Your Eyes Only was one of the best Bond movies ever, and this song sung at the beginning is one of the reasons why.
