    genetic testing via dor yesharim is the first thing i check when i look into someone! i have heard too many stories of ppl breaking things off bcz they checked later on. check AT THE BEGINNING! this can save everyone a lot of unneeded heartache and pain. i actually didnt know about j screen. gonna look into it. thanks for opening up this important conversation! you too are so cute and i am so happy to hear you have a baby! thank you tzipora for another amazing interview!

      Yes, please look into jscreen. And keep in mind that dor yesharim might have you listed as “compatible,” but they do NOT have an extensive testing panel. Jscreen’s is far superior (some would say they still don’t cover enough).
      Hope this is helpful.

      @@artbya613 I don’t know as I’m not affiliated with them, but I would assume they do as it’s a saliva test you do at home and then send it into them. I’m sure there are other genetic tests/screens that a genetic counselor or ob/gyn can recommend.

      True! Genetic testing is important and guides us on our discussions. But here is a case that it could have destroyed this awesome couple from taking the next steps and living happily ever after.

    It is a stressful and miserable life finding out you are not genetically compatible after the fact.....
    Ppl.
    Even as to how you conceive...
    PLEASE everyone do not take this as a sign of heroism... Please y'all get yourselves tested before.
    This couple is super committed and super brave to continue forward in their relationship.
    Which is awesome for THEM.
    I do believe that the hostess needed to greatly stress the caveat of this.

The interview would be so much better if it were led with emotional intelligence, allowing the guests to speak from the heart without being cut off.

    • @ydubin
      @ydubin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Dor yesharim does NOT do extensive testing, and you do not get informed of your results. Better to meet with a genetic counselor and do a proper screen, or at the very least do Jscreen which trumps dor yesharim in every way.

      @@ydubinDor Yesharim does test for the genetic diseases that are deadly to children. Stop knocking them. Find out more about them. There are drawbacks to over testing, including preventing many marriages, and psychological affecting people. There’s a lot of promotion of the new testing for everything, that is now leading to people having to make difficult decisions like this couple.

    • @ydubin
      @ydubin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@melanie18whitehow much are they paying you to say that? Do you have personal experience with this matter, because I do. They DO NOT have extensive testing and there are conditions and diseases that severely impact a child’s life that could easily be prevented if one actually tests.
      Whether two individuals want to marry at that point should be up to them. They could choose IVF or abortions if they so choose.

    SORRY ......but isn't the genetic organization the very FIRST order of things BEFORE The dating process? Isn't that the whole intent purpose is to check before meeting?

    • @ydubin
      @ydubin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They did genetic testing before they met and decided to go through with marriage and taking the necessary (and difficult) precautions to ensure a viable and healthy pregnancy. You don’t need an organization to tell you whether you’re compatible. You just need your results and can make an adult decision as these two did.

      @@JJ-kf4kcI merely pointed out that they had already undergone testing. They had their results, shared them, and decided to go through with the relationship. They could have just as easily terminated it. I’m not sure what you think I said. Your statement applies to dor yesharim. Not to literally any and every other genetic testing system. So far, here's what we know from all the stories
    It's always the guy meeding to make a certain change in order to fit into the girls' box, which is the opposite of what they all call for in being open-minded
    It's never a more modern girl saying who cares what hat he wears or what color shirt . it's all about his midos and personality. It's always the guy making a drastic move out of desperation
