Man 0:43 got me in tears, it's like even the people who want to be with you get hurt for something you don't have control over.
What about 1:09, the look the hedgehog gave? He was so hopeful in a gift and found an "empty" box, must've thought it was a very mean prank to make his hopes go up just to fool him that way..

I show this video every year to my kindergarten classes about being kind to others and every time I look at it with them I tear up myself! It is a wonderful message to the world and I am so glad that it was shared with me from a fellow teacher. Great job on passing on the message of kindness.

In the summer of 2023, I discovered a colouring book at my local Walmart called... K is for Kindness. It goes through the alphabet with animals, having rhyming short sentences of encouragement / teamwork each. Ah ha! I thought! I bought enough for all the neighbourhood children and any grandchildren that would be visiting (total 11) AND... Crayola has a line of 24 crayons in a box called... Colors of Kindness. They ALSO have "Colors of the World" for those children with different skin colours! So, I bought 11 colouring books and the applicable crayons... to save for later. Then just before Christmas, I went to my local dollar store and bought 11 small tins with Christmas or winter themes (for non-Christmas children) on them and each tin held their new crayons box within it. Each of course to deter any arguing lol. So just before Christmas / the Holidays, I delivered to the different families. They were a HUGE hit! Kids happy, parents happy as kids distracted lol. BIG savings IF you buy during Back-to-School time. Books, crayons AND tins... about $50 and 11 kiddies very happy. I was happy too, having planted the seed of Kindness WITH animals (who very much need our help / protection these days). So... just a thought.
I've watched this video at least 50x since its release, and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes. I'll sit and watch it 2-3x in a row, and cry all over again. Not sure why lol but I do. Its so darn cute.

I am disabled, and in a wheelchair - and when people show you their way around your flaws (which cause self loathing at times), and how they choose to embrace them and work with you to make them almost disappear, it is the ultimate gift you can receive.

Amrutha, PLEASE don't correct a disabled person about the word they choose to use in reference to their own circumstances. I know your intentions are good (I wouldn't even bother replying otherwise), but it's like if a black guy calls himself black and you say "NO, you are OF COLOR" or gay guys calling themselves "queer" as a term of endearment, it's not up to you to decide what's acceptable for members of marginalized groups to call themselves. It's just patronizing.

You can't save all the world, and correcting someone certainly doesn't help either.
You sure are assuming an awful lot. How do you know the OP doesn't have a problem with it? You don't always get notifications every time there's a new reply on a comment. Anyway, it is a person's right to narrate their own story, and honestly, I have only ever heard able-bodied people use that phrase, never heard anyone with a disability refer to himself/herself as "differently abled."
It's got its problems, as a concept, because it assumes that someone's disability is really not a hindrance of any kind, and it also assumes that "disabled" is something to be ashamed of, plus it just isn't accurate. The OP is in a wheelchair. A "different ability" would mean you could fly or levitate or tell fortunes. Not having use of your legs is, and must be recognized as a disability and accommodated for.
For those 3 reasons, I don't think it should be used. I am fine with being corrected on that, and if the OP corrects me on it, I'll use that phrase henceforth in reference to the OP. Pending said correction, I will caution against *correcting the individual with the disability* about what to call their disability.
Save the whole world? Are you kidding? I can't even save myself FROM the world. This is just basic social stuff, and I'm warning against something I have good reason to believe that people with physical disabilities do NOT appreciate. That can help to the extent that it is listened to and heeded.
The feeling when you desperately try your very best to fit in with everyone and not mess things up, but things just keep ending up bad for you, you're hurt, you're left out alone. Uhh man, I'm not able to find the accurate choice of words...it always moves me to tears no matter how many times I watch it.
The part that always gets to me is when the hedgehog glances up at the squirrel, unsure if the giftwrapped box is only a gag. (1:03)

Some people think that gay people are also "contagious" like you've said. And their families who don't accept it, say it's "a disease" and will do everything to "cure" it. They may even succeed. But they will destroy a will inside of this person in the process because you never change who you are - you just suppress it.

I love how the kids aren’t just stereotypical bullies(though to be fair, they probably wouldn’t want to mess with him and his spikes.) they’re just nervous cause they, reasonably, don’t want to get pricked. When they find a way to bypass this they finally open themselves up to him. I know that’s the point of the ad but it’s refreshing to see the characters actively try to be friendly. I love the animation, the snow looks good and the whole short has this Christmas warm ness to it. I love the character models, they have a charm to them I can’t describe. They’re kinda like plushies and kinda like normal humanized animals.

In some ways it sucks that it's "just an ad" but if a company's funding allows artists to create meaningful art, it's better than some vapid trash. Really beautiful animation.

Yk looking back at these 3 days Ive realized that Ive been the villain along, I met up with the hedgehog and he shared to me how he held out hope of the light that was deep inside the darkness that was my heart, 3 times to small now turned 3 times just right. Id like to thank everyone who was a part of my journey and Id like to say that I turned a new leaf. This was indeed a nice ad and the ad really took course though 3 years a bit late. Im once again whole and see the light coursing within me...Thank you hedgehog...THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!

The porcupine's eyes are so human like - they say the eyes are the windows to one's soul. His little heart is so pure and sweet. I suppose that's why it's so troubling to see him rejected over and over again.

I've related so hard to the sweet lil hedgehog... Growing up, wanted to make friends, but autism and introversion made it challenging. People I got too close to ended up abandoning our friendship or I somehow accidentally hurt them, causing a rift between us...
Then I switched to homeschool, and made 4 new, PERMANENT besties. Unlike the rest, they didn't ditch me at the first sign of trouble. They listened. They cried with me. They walked through my troubles with me, and still do, even though we are STATES apart.
Watching this now still makes me cry, bc even though I have the best besties in the world, I still struggle w/ abandonment issues and feeling like I don't deserve their friendship--

This story of the little hedgehog shows that no matter how different you are, there will always be a place in the heart of the one you love, and your friends and family will always find a way to be able to stay with you, being dangerous or not and having thorns or not.
