[If the the only monsters on the field are "this card you control" and "4 forbidden one normal monsters"....] "You control" is only specified on "this card" so it seems like the 4 forbidden ones can be on either side of the field.

Exxod, Master of the Guard, I believe, is supposed to be the twin brother of Exodia. That's why it looks similar, and it having 4K defense, since it was supposed to be a reversal, since Exodia is supposed to be the ultimate offense.
I believe in the anime exodia was called the guard of Egypt. I think this version should have represented this aspect
I think it Exxod is supposed to represent the original form of the monster spirit before they became the iconic monster monster card, much like

So Exxod might be the the chief guard for the royal family before becoming so powerful that it must be sealed away either because it is too dangerous or to keeps its power for times of great stress such as when Zarc returns

Exodia Necross didn't have the same effect as the anime. The anime version was a beast. But the real life card was a joke. I remember all the jokes about how Necross could die to a man eater bug. It really needs a retrain. Like a ritual version of Necross.

Actually Solomon didn’t use Exodia The Legendary Defender in Duel Monsters it was used by Yami Yugi during the 2019 world championships
He's referring to the Duel Monsters anime. Exodia the Legendary Defender's win con is based on when Solomon summoned Exodia in ancient Egypt to battle Zorc Necrophades, which would make sense why it has to destroy a dark fiend
The uploader fucked up the wording, but Exodia the Legendary Defender is based off of the battle between Exodia and Zorc. the fact its ATK is the result of its tributes is a reference to Solomon's life energy being its source. and the win condition is directly tied to it saving Egypt had it beaten Zorc.

In the final season, soloman’s ancient counterpart summoned exodia. Since it wasnt an auto-win condition, he means to say that the exodia summoned was meant to be this guy instead

I actually didn't know about exodia as a non Yu-Gi-Oh fan. It's always blue eyes white dragon or dark magician. Those seem to be very "poster child" for Yu-Gi-Oh
they are due to the fact they were the singular ace monsters of key characters in the first anime most people saw. Exodia may have had many side apperances, but even I think the odds of people remembering exodia who haven't played is very slim.
Exodia had a lot of presence in the early days of the IP, but ended up fading from both proper use and marketing over time. To put it into perspective, the literal last time Exodia has ever been relevant for anything(that I remember) was in GX Season 3, which I am fairly sure was like 20 years ago?
Blue Eyes, the Magicians and other more popular monsters and themes have just stuck around over the years.
