Hello Austin, I'd like to know what mouthpiece you were using at that moment, if you please. And reed.
Keilwerths are work horses
Holy Reeds..man that was some grooving tenor man...dang?
Austin here! Thank you 🙏
It's a black nickel with gold keys tenor saxophone.
The SX90R Black nickel and gold is a brass saxophone with nickel plating and gold laquered keys. The SX90R Shadow is a nickel silver body with nickel plating and silver plated keys.
We have a video of the Shadow as well if you are interested in seeing! th-cam.com/video/I4iiR2p2V0M/w-d-xo.html
Saxophone by James Carter
Can you demo this one and the Shadow side by side for comparison?
Great review! Thank you for doing it. I'm a bit confused about the saxophone material and finishing, I always thought current SX90Rs were made of brass with clean or black lacquer finishing and only the Shadow model was made of silver nickel and black nickel finishing. Could you clarify this. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards!
This model is black nickel plating. The sx90r series is a brass core and the shadow series is a nickel silver core. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the views and comments!
Good
4:13 👍 good
How a "sax sounds" i 'm pretty sure has more to do with the desgin of the neck/mouthpiece chosen/reed.....at most some sax's have bigger "bells" and possibly some might swound "warmer" or "brighter (silver plated)"....
Interesting though....lot s of great pop, jazz and rock players chose Keilwerth :) Like AYamaha Custom 82z/857z, Selmer ref 36/SBA, CONN, KINg....again keeping in mind it's the player followed by the "neck,mouthpiece...."....and a little the actual sex itself imho...
It’s definitely all that! It’s a combo along with the player of course. I got a chance to play 3 mark vi’s back to back recently and it’s WILD not only how different the same horn can feel but also sound totally.
Tx for that great demo - I just love it an want it to buy 🎷
One of my favorite horns to this day 💪 thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! I would have liked to have heard some overtone work but appreciate what you did here. I can't wait to take mine to a rock gig and menace the crowd
You’re welcome! I’ll try out some overtones on the next one. I love getting feedback on what people want to hear so thanks for the input!
I Will dream its horn! Some Day jll bay it! May be soon!
I have one is the best
Well designed and manufactured. Powerful sounding.
Lindo sonido y color
It's a real beaut
Sounds great. What mouthpiece are you using here? All the best for 2023.
Yes, what size, make, and model of mouthpiece were you using?
Great review! Your tone is amazing.
Austin here, Thank you 🙏
@@JazzLicksHi. Great video. Please, Can you tell me which mouthpiece you used in this video?
Thanks!
This is what finish?
Black nickel plating. The sx90r series is a brass core and the shadow series is a nickel silver core. Sorry for the confusion. My mouth gets ahead of my brain sometimes when I’m reviewing. 😅 thanks for the views and comments!
Nice instrument and very nice player !
Any silver neck for this? How much does it cost? I'm digging Yani TWO32
No second neck unfortunately! It’s got a ton of punch & brightness despite not having a silver neck.
Right now they are going for around $7300 but that changes somewhat regularly so I don’t list prices in my reviews (sorry I know that’s slightly inconvenient!) I just find the videos stay fresh for longer if I just stick to specs and playability.
