No, you can fire the guns directly from the drivers position. Depending on how you have your keyboard bindings set up, it’s not too much trouble to drive and shoot simultaneously.
Certainly most of the small containers/boxes would. Transporting packages, eg Delivery missions.. would be easy to store in the back. The bigger sizes, probably not so much.
