    Thanks for the assembly video. I still have this model; had found a piece which I could not figure out where to place since I did not have the manual any longer. Instead of trying to find the manual online, I decided to do a quick TH-cam search and found your video. Much appreciate it. God bless.

    Hello, I’d like to request that at the end of February for the conclusion video of this vacuum that you remove the post motor filter and check for dust in the ducts to that filter to see if the ‘Cinetic Science’ works and removes all dust, it’d be rather interesting to see. You would require a screw driver though.

    • @madabouthoovers9767
      @madabouthoovers9767 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roger could find that it invalidates his warranty if he dismantles the machine to check the post motor filters, as they are not a user serviceable part, and Dyson could deem that he contravened the user instructions by dismantling the machine. Manufacturers are getting very strict on warranty claims now, and many are looking for excuses, however trivial, to void a warranty.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dyson have fitted regular crosshead screws to the sides of the ball to access the post motor filters, so I may take a look at them at the end of the month. I'm not bothered about the warranty anyway, as after February I won't be using the Big Ball much.

    Dyson’s were not my favourite in years gone by , but, been using a DC40 and the DC35 cordless digital slim, I must say I’ve been quite impressed by both machines, I like the idea of Cinetic Dyson machine no filters but I’d fear dust getting into the motor cause premature failure, I Know Dyson’s separate dust very well indeed.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer to have a pre motor filter myself. If the motor fails within the 5 year guarantee period, I'm sure Dyson would repair/replace it.

    This will be interesting. It's supposed to be the top of the line in Dyson's but some have complained that the tiny cyclones get clogged with lots of use. Also I've read that it doesn't have as much suction as the ball animal 2. Let's see whether it's worth the extra money.

    • @medeirosm90
      @medeirosm90 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      pugso59 Wilson you’re better off with the animal ball 2 I bought one for my best friend and I has almost 300 air watts of suction power whereas the kinetic has 180 air watts

    As I mentioned in another video I do like my "full size" cordless but definitely don't think it's appropriate as an only machine in the household. I use it daily and it helps tremendously but I still need to use my bagged canister to finish the job. I have only solid floors and area rugs so it's not as critical being that I mop and wash rugs periodically. I love the crosswave for washing the floors but do still do the old fashioned hands and knees method for a deep cleaning as the machine doesn't get baseboards and the very edge. And 1000 times yes to the vac that vacuums last "wins". That was a heck of a lot of dust though I was kind of surprised actually but proves what we already all knew that a plug in model is stronger.

    That is a nice bin capacity, especially for a Dyson. Usually they are pathetically small on their more modern machines. Judging from the sound it seems to agitate the carpet quite well, but I've seen thunderstorms that are quieter than this thing. :D

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow - Roger, thats quite eye opening isnt it? All those homes where people are using a Shark cordless as their only vacuum on carpets are going to have so much deep down dirt and grit building up that its going to wear their carpets out much quicker. I expect the carpet manufacturers are hoping that every home only uses a cordless soon, as they will be selling a lot more carpet - and they'll be giving Shark a great big pat on the back for enabling this state of affairs. Looking clean is a lot different from being 100% actual clean. So many nasties can lurk deep down in your carpet, even flea eggs, and vacuuming with a mains powered vacuum is still a necessity if you have mainly carpets. I reckon the V8 used on Max would have deep cleaned better than the Shark would, as the Dyson has 115 Airwatts on MAX, which is much more than the Shark Ion Flex. I wish you'd have vacuumed the whole room on this video - the results would have been even more dramatic. I also think the Shark wouldnt have been picking up well due to its filter being clogged, as you showed us it was really dirty in your last video, and this must have been affecting the low amount of suction it had before the filters got clogged, making it even weaker suction. This is a great video for proving that Cordless is not ready yet to replace a powerful corded vacuum, and this Big Ball is 1300W if I'm not mistaken?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes the big ball is 1300 watts and 87db, so it is breaking the law under current EU rules. You're right, cordless technology can't replace a corded vacuum yet, but I think that will happen in the next five years or so. This cleaner feels similar to using the DC15 to me, but I prefer the Light Ball especially as it's a lot quieter.

    I am amazed after all the cleaning you do on your carpets, just how filthy they still are.
    Kind of question's the effectiveness of past vacuum cleaners you have tested / rated.
    Build quality is not that great on this Dyson, at least that aspect of Dyson stays consistent.
    Complaints about the handle twisting in use, Dyson keen to say its plastic is the same / similar as that used to make riot shields, people want to vacuum, not riot or twist and shout which you will do a lot of as its loud!
    A lot of people find it tiring to use for any period of time, heavy and quite a few find it also runs hot whilst being harsh on the electric bill.
    The air value on the back of the bin can be a bit premature when it comes to kicking in killing suction performance. People also don't like the fact they cant get inside the bin to clean it out. Everything in life blocks, nothing is immune.
    100% suction 100% of the time as is filters that never need cleaning is is a load of rubbish. The clue is in the name, filter. If something is being filtered, the filter is capturing and holding. Where does what the filter capture go?
    Overpriced and sold on hype.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I explained in the video, for the past month I have been using a Shark cordless vacuum which explains why the Dyson pulled out so much dirt from a small area. Please direct any concerns you have with Dyson with them, because I don't have any connection with Dyson or any vacuum cleaner manufacturer/retailer.

    • @SamM-oh2cx
      @SamM-oh2cx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ibaisaic no need to direct my concerns to Dyson, spent years dealing with them.
      I used to work for a major department store and every time we sold a Dyson big ball, we would all give a wink to each other because we pretty much knew it would be returned and as sure as night follows day, I’d say 80% come back with some of the reasons I posted above to name but a few as the reasons for the return.
      That’s why you’ll find in a lot of stores now, Dyson put their own sales people in to push their stuff! It’s then down to the Dyson rep to sell the vac, we just used to smile and take the money and say see you soon and we did!

    • @MrWolfSnack
      @MrWolfSnack 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      His carpets are so dirty because when he does these videos he dumps the contents of the bins directly onto the carpet, so some dirt gets into the carpet over time and works itself in. That's why when I do my vacuum videos, I have a big enough roll of "test carpet" (weighs like 30-40 lbs) I use for demo videos that I got from a carpet supply depot, rather than actively ruining my own carpeting. Not even the strongest vacuum would be able to "grab" it and get stuck, so it works well. Cheaper than those Hoover or Kirby branded store rugs you see in vacuum shops.

    Check out Performance Review's site. He is a vacuum technician who services various vacuums and talks about the pros and cons of how they are made. He was saying that the cinetic design lets too much dust pass through to the motor and they get clogged. One has to have another vacuum to clean the Dyson.

      vacuum nut you have to remember also, he's a vacuum shop, the machines that are brought to him are usually heavily abused, dyson claims in normal use, it should last 10 years, im no Dyson fan, but I don't think they would mass market a machine if the technology didn't work

    • @jackdehavilland7125
      @jackdehavilland7125 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Riccar Rad, I agree but there’s also the ‘built in obsolescence’ factor. The technology does work but will ultimately lead to at best, the repair of, and at worst the failure of the machine. Dyson are masters of marketing - I heard someone saying that they were great for someone with extreme asthma and dust sensitivity and indeed some models are marketed as such... In use perhaps they are, but HEPA or any other filtration is pretty meaningless when you empty a Dyson (or any bagless cleaner) bin as it is impossible to avoid dust being released into the air.

    I have written to Dyson about my new vacuum on how much I hate it.. the handle (rod) is narrower now and why did they put that little bar in the center of it halfway down? Everything catches on it and then the suction diminishes. And trying to get anything stuck out of it is almost impossible. The brush that I use most often has changed also. Not enough bristles. I could go on and on. This will be my last Dyson.... I hate my vacuum.

      I saw an interview on TV last year shot at Dyson's headquarters that mentioned noise levels of vacuum cleaners and apparently American buyers tend to like loud vacuums because they equate loud to powerful, whereas Japanese customers want a much quieter machine. Dyson is capable of reducing the noise levels of their machines if they want to and now have to thanks to new EU regulations.

I'm not sure I quite understand the a$$hole mentality of being online, there's nothing wrong with disagreeing or not liking something but there's a civil way to get that point across.
