I was on the Resilient a week after your greek glow cruise. Insane how much we both agree and I also have to add that this cruise was literally the best vacation my friends have had.
Ah, really enjoyed this! I boarded Resilient Lady in Athens at the end of July for the Adriatic route to Croatia and Montenegro, and found the whole thing to be absolutely wonderful. Resilient Lady seems to be offering SUCH a strong product at the moment!

Wow!! ❤ Hi Gun $300 for upgrade? I bid the lowest which was $55 and we got upgraded to the central terrace today. Sailing in 2 weeks.
Enjoyed a cruise on Resilient Lady earlier this year out of Sydney. 10/10 experience absolutely loved everything about it from the food, cabin, crew, decor, shows, activities. Can’t wait to go again. 😍
SAME here. I'll be honest, doing what I do- there are very few travel experiences out there which I'd be willing to pay full rack rate for... another cruise on Virgin is certainly one of them.
Battleship-grey works for this former naval officer - and the ship's lines are attractive enough to dodge a lazy comparison with a live sheep-carrier. (Ignore the Rule of the Road; pass upwind!) Still not a cruiser but I'll concede that Virgin has nailed this concept stuff. Rhodes: my favourite Greek island. Comprehensive review, which I'll watch in chunks.
That was a fantastic review! My husband and I are going to be on the Valiant Lady in the Caribbean next January and I am soaking up every little bit of ship info I can prior to our sailing. Thank you for your time and attention to detail, especially to the FOOD! Posting the menus was highly appreciated.
I resently responded to you survey and one of my selections was adding Cruise Ship reviews. And here you are reviewing a Virgin Voyage on the Resilient Lady which i sailed on in Australia earlier this year. Your review was very spot on and i wish it was available when i went. I had a very hard time understanding the CONCEPT, but I did enjoy the accomidating & friendly crew members, but did miss that they do not display their country of origin or their departments on their name badges. They consider themselves all equals and us as SAILORS, which i thought was a little extra VIRGIN over the top. Probably because i served as a proud member in the the US NAVY. The Pool & the Stateroom Bathroomjs are a joke, also finding a public restroom onboard is another hasle, if you can locate on it was usually occupued, one seater unisex, not worth waiting for when you really had to go, most times i headed back to my stateroom since i too had a central balconey on the Deck 11 - AHOY
Absolutely enjoyed every second of this extensive review! Loved the way you scored all the food and the final grade of 21/20 is amazing especially knowing how knowledgeable and experienced you are regarding that important part of the cruise. Thank you so much for these nearly 50 minutes of high quality content, love the way how diverse your channel has become 💫🥂🍾💪🏼🙏🏼
Hi, Kevin! I really love the style of introducing food you presented in this episode - a short introduction on the food you had in your journey with a clear headshot of the food. I think it's a better way for the audience to get a better idea of dining experience in your journey than a quick look at the menu. I encourage you to introduce that way of presenting your food experience in your journey to your future episodes. Enjoy your trip! :)
I appreciate your honesty. Your comment about single travelers was very much appreciated. I think my biggest concern would be the seat designs. Just about everywhere just don’t look comfortable-especially the restaurants.
I was on this sailing. It was my first Virgin cruise. I’ve already booked my next one. I’ve been on other cruises before but I really loved how quick the boarding process was. The only restaurant I did not get to try was Extra Virgin. My favorite restaurant was Pink Agave. The dock house was my favorite place to hang out in my free time. The bathroom was super small, but it was manageable for me. I agree with your thoughts on Santorini, it was a rough day at the cable car.
If I was into cruising, this would be my first choice to book , but I’m not so I wouldn’t 😅. I can’t imagine the madness of 4-5 ships docking at a small island(or any port for that matter) at the same time and the impact is has on the locals. Nice video as always 😊
Yeah, normally in ports like that, I just stay on board and enjoy the day. The only reason I went onto Santorini was to get a video clip of the ship from above. 2.5 hours for an 8 second clip haha
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing the menus. I’m vegan & cruising March 25. I like that there are vegan options, even though it appears meals were low on protein & heavy in carbs.
I'm not sure exactly which restaurants have it, but I'd ask specifically about meat substitues they may have. I saw it on a couple menus and have to imagine it would be available in some form all over the ship.
I feel like I've actually just been on this ship now - what a wonderful review! Beautiful ship and the decor is superb, love the variety of style and themes. Never been on a cruise, the thought of the nightlly entertainment and crowded pool is quite intimidating 😅 I will just stick to ferry trips 😊
Always great review videos, Kevin you have re sparked my interest to go to Bali. Slicing the beef seems to an on trend thing. They are doing it all over the place in Brisbane.
Really enjoyed this one. It will be totally different (and longer) I guess but hope you’ll make a trip report in the future on a Royal Caribbean cruise 😊
@@tfft bigger ships (talking about the mega classes) comes with more facilities, entertainment areas, hospitality services etc. I mean just like Virgin you want to capture almost everything, then it will be a 1h30m video. Don’t you think?
This was excellent. I've never been on a cruise but I'm thinking about it. I'm pretty sure it'll be with Virgin. I'd be traveling alone so it seems like Virgin would be a good fit for a solo traveler.
Very good and accurate. I'm doing two Virgin cruises in the next 3 weeks; from Portsmouth. These will make it 4 total. You didn't mention the distinction between various Rockstar cabins; or the changed inclusions; since they no longer top-up the bar every morning. Just one set-up to start. I think you did fine about the minimalist (too small) basic cabins and bathrooms. The Rockstar suites are considerably more expansive in both regards. Also embarcation and departure easier; since not 6000 aboard (I just experienced that on MSC but thankfully was in The Yacht Club). I'm a fan of Virgin while agreeing that much of the seating isn't as comfy as others; and definitely more limited entertainment options and yes, small casino. At least it's not total bling nor water rides. Great review..enjoyed it!
@@tfft I totally understand ... although I think if you told them you were doing a review maybe they'd let you video the suites when empty such as debarkation. Anyway great review!
Sweet Video!! Which cruise line did u status match from and how did u do it? I just matched my Hilton Diamond status to MSC cruise line....whats my next move?
This is one of the best reviews of seen on Virgin Voyages Greek Island Glow 👍🏻 Can you please answer a couple of questions for me as I’m booked on the Resilient Lady in 2025. Firstly, if you want to leave the ship for each of the day stops in port, what time does the disembarkation start and what time do you need to be back on the ship by / what’s the last time the boats leave port to return to the ship. I ask so I can work out times to book the restaurants. And because of that, what time are last orders in the restaurants - are they the same? Thanks in advance - 😊
Another excellent review. I really like your eye to detail. The food options are fantastic. But … I find the entertainment a little challenging. I was booked to go on Virgin but my cruise was cancelled. You don’t need a buffet with so many dining options!
This is 3rd or 4th time Virgin is featured on your channel... Although you made a really good review of this cruise ship there are much better cruise ships out there. Main problem with this or similar cruises is that they are often overcrowded and common areas are too small, like the pool you showed. I find it hard to believe that you enjoy this cruise so much after you visited all amazing hotels you showed us on your channel. I think you’re confusing me with another channel. I’ve been on one Virgin cruise and made this video plus a 10 min guide. As for enjoying it, well I suppose you can believe what you’d like 😂. As I’ve said many times, I absolutely love cruising- on any large ship- and this Virgin cruise in many ways was the best I’ve been on. A cruise is not a hotel just like a train is not a plane. I prefer to compare apples to apples.
@@tfft It was in your 100k subs special also. I would definitely recommend you Explora journey if you're thinking about some new cruise, you would very much enjoy it.
Epic video, Kevin though even you still can't convince me about cruises. Now i'm someone who plans for a living and admittedly i do run a spreadhseet for family holidays, but i'm not sure i want to be booking restaurants 45 days in advance or planning all my activities at T-minus-1. Then again, i don't score food to 1 decimal place....
No need to book dining 45 days ahead, only 30% opens then. Another 60% opens day of sailing, and 10% left for walkins. Only entertainment you book ahead is the dinner show and fitness classes. Super chill vibe, and many crew available to assist when you board. We were not "cruisers", but booked a VV cruise out of curiosty of what Richard Branson's twist would be. We are scheduled for our 4th sailing in 2 weeks!
Thanks for all the info and tips! I have heard the fitness classes fill up as fast as the restaurant bookings, so wondering when you can see the class schedule and when can you book them - 45 days out or not until you are connected to the ship's WiFi?
What makes Kevin soooo good in making these videos, is presentation. Virgin is HARD no for me. But Kevin changed it to...maybe. Thank you....I think. 🤔
They'd be smart to do really reasonable 3 night turns out of Florida. Maybe offer 30% of their cruise fare back as a future cruise credit, just to ensure the 3-nighters don't turn into spring break party boats. A great way to introduce those on the fence to the experience.
@@tfft that sounds like a good idea. Part of my lack of interest in cruises is that they don't really cater to solo travellers. Though I did hear about Norwegian's solo cabin. Viking looks interesting.
Interesting.. this is the first review of the food that seems to give a low score to what others seem to give a high score.. I’m definitely looking forward to trying out Virgin
@@tfft yes they were.. it was just funny that some of the things in general people liked you didn’t and vice versa. I actually feel like I would agree with you more. lol!
Amazing video as always. I’ve never been on a cruise. I’m more of a laid back, subdued, non-party person. But seeing those crowds gave me agita and confirmed that cruises are not for me. Maybe Silver Seas.
To be honest, your words describe me precisely. If it wasn't for filming, I probably wouldn't have gone to a single show or group event. So, there is a spot for us as well.
Damn. Thats a long wait. Ill gladly climb up the switchbacks though. I climbed up Capri in Italy and it was worth the views. Granted not for everyone. Great video though! I've never been on a cruise but this could be a great add on to a larger trip for sure!
I had commented on your earlier vlog, about the cruise that we took on the Resilient Lady in March 2024. Our restaurant food was quite a bit lower quality than you what you have displayed here. Ten evenings of room temp food, is why we won't sail with Virgin again. Reviews on other websites are more similar to our experiences. Virgin ships are sailing mostly at capacity, with crew shortages causing major service issues. I suggest you sail them again, as a cruise that you took a year ago, isn't what the experience is right now.
I just read a couple days ago that the government is stepping in bc despite an insane number of cruise ships, the island itself is FAR under capacity (hotels and such) bc people are avoiding it due to over crowding. Up to 18,000 cruise pax per day. That’s more than double the day I was there.
Yah, I checked online before writing the script (bc I forgot if it was 45 days or 60 days) and everything I read online was still talking about the same policies. Even on VV’s website it’s really vague. Can’t win ‘em all.
We did Santorini for our honeymoon with an absolutely FANTASTIC Air B&B cave house. It was a nightmare when the cruise ships docked...the sleepy streets of Oia were suddenly packed and cacaphonous. NOT a good cruise destination!
I was expecting a better finish and a bit touch of luxury with Virgin Voyages Ships, they lack of a beautiful Atrium , the only one is very disappointing a the passage ways of the Cabins (corridors) are so plain , and while they have very cool things in Decor is also plain the eating places looks like a cafeteria and the Cabins,OMG the chairs of metal in the summer turning into Grills ,you can grilled a steak on them the cabin bathrooms are small and i had seen better ones in some hospitals , hope this can be changed for better , ships ,all of them needs a beautiful atrium as Grand entrance,it’s the first experience you are going to have when boarding a ship and first experience is all the best experience , hope you don’t get angry Mr Richard Branson , i 💕 love all the things you do , i ‘ m a big fan of your Airline and see your ships passing by my apt in South Point in Miami Beach. ,i will love to be there soon ,from now i’ll give a 7:3 to your ships , hope you can go up to 9.0 ( 10.0 will be for ultra lux)points soon
Wonderful video. However...the pizza, and other food items, are not "free". They are "included". There is a vast difference between the two. It is not free if you paid for it in advance. Again, this is a wonderful overview of Virgin Voyages, my fav cruise line. Thank you.
Ok, well then we might as well delete the word free from English since absolutely nothing is free in that lens lol. Of course everything came from somewhere and was paid for somehow 😅
Cruise videos take me as long as 3-4 flight/hotel videos to make, so it’s simply finding a slot in my editing a schedule to actually have time to do it. That said, there’s nothing that has near significantly changed since my cruise.
Haha no worries, to each their own. I'm actually 108% an introvert as well though- and I'd just say, I can guarantee you 70% of cruise lines are introvert friendly, in my experience it's MUCH more about the crowd on board (where they're from...) than anything else. But yeah, the reason I loved VV so much is bc I expected it to NOT be introvert friendly, but it totally was.
@@tfft I've been considering VV for a while as a solo traveller but have been unsure due to me being very introverted too! I like being around people, but not that keen on interacting with them (I have a very mild form of autism). My impression of Virgin was that you'd sort of be dragged into partying, whether you wanted to or not. So you'd say that's not the case? Also when I dine by myself I really dislike when people at neighbouring tables feel compelled to strike up a conversation, uninvited. Did you find that happened much on the ship? Great video btw.
@ballyhigh11 to me there are simply ways to avoid it. For your entertainment concern, just don’t sit in the very front. I did for Lola’s Library and was involved ever so slightly. Was sharing a table and did strike up small talk but was not the awkward kind of situation like when eating. In The Manor, I’d suggest sitting on the balcony. There are plenty of private little nooks to sit with great views (like I did for Another Rose). When VV first launched there was talk that they encouraged people NOT to sit up there bc they wanted everyone involved. They have realized though, it’s not one size fits all and people that want to be up there aren’t there for involvement. As for dinner, no I never had interactions like that. I always dine early so there are less people for filming but that also helps on the solo cruiser front as well. When I said in the video that VV has seemed to learn how to deal with all types of solo cruisers, what I specifically meant is they understand someone coming to dinner at 18:00 for a table of 1 is not there for a social experiment and they do their best to accommodate and rarely sit tables directly next to each other unless necessary. The only exception to this was at Pink Agave bc of the awkward layout of some of the banquette seating. But had I requested specifically to sit on the perimeter I’m sure they would have accommodated. The crowd on board has a lot to do with it too. This was mostly Americans in their 30s-50s. A progressive group that knows well to respect others’ boundaries. Other cruise lines with, shall we say, larger generational differences are when I get a lot of those awkward random conversations.
Also… you might really enjoy some of the Italian or German lines. On those for the most part cruising is NOT about meeting people, it’s about family vacation and everyone only stays within their own group.
Just to Highlights, never ever use that glass in the cabins, I can guarantee you in about 85% most of that glass is not clean. Better ask bottle of water. Peace out.
I live in Germany and in Restaurants or at concerts we get 0.5 litre for maximum (and that is stretched) 5 €. Good beer and not 39 ct beers from a store.
@@tfftI actually scored some random free drinks from the crew just for being. me & I thought that was very nice. Also discount for beers by the bucket
We need more cruises on this channel! Amazing work Kevin

Uhhh… my comments about the food were overwhelmingly positive lol
@@tfft yes they were.. it was just funny that some of the things in general people liked you didn’t and vice versa. I actually feel like I would agree with you more. lol!
I've seen others say food was "okay-to good but not great"
Every time you say that the airline, hotel or cruise line doesn’t know you. I picture Norm walking into Cheers “Hey Kevin!” 😂
Ah! That line is disappearing after 3 more videos... I don't want to take away your twice weekly Cheers moment! lol
@@tfft 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, I was going to the top just to get a video clip of the ship and was in no way prepared for those switchbacks haha.
I’m not a cruiser, but rushing to make dining reservations sounded stressful.
Not any more stressful than any other reservation lol
Love your trip❤
Thanks for watching 🩴
Kevin used to lived around 5 kbbq restaurants? California, NY or the DMV? Lol
No, no and… DMVs have Korean BBQ? Lol
Thanks for sharing ✈️
There just isn't anything to fault and everything to like.
Agreed!
Sounds like Santorini is an 'avoid at all costs' port of call.
I just read a couple days ago that the government is stepping in bc despite an insane number of cruise ships, the island itself is FAR under capacity (hotels and such) bc people are avoiding it due to over crowding. Up to 18,000 cruise pax per day. That’s more than double the day I was there.
When did you sail? Entertainment isn't bookable anymore (unless it's associated with an upcharge, like Another Rose).
Yah, I checked online before writing the script (bc I forgot if it was 45 days or 60 days) and everything I read online was still talking about the same policies. Even on VV’s website it’s really vague. Can’t win ‘em all.
Is it necessary to tip on cruises?
All tips are included on Virgin. Each cruise line is different but most charge you a flat required daily fee on top of the cruise fare for tips.
Santorini sounds like a tourism nightmare.
Quite close to it, yeah.

Amazing video 🎉 hope you'll do more cruises in tue future
If I could learn how to do them in a much easier way, perhaps haha.
@@tfft Then it wasn't "free", as you said. That is my point.
What’s the point of seating that’s not comfortable. The colors are to loud. A table cloth here and there would have been nice. A nice route though.
This is definitly the anti-table cloth cruise line lol.
who do they loyalty match with?
All cruise lines.
An update: included shows/entertainment are now first come first serve.
Oh, I’m surprised. I checked online before writing it too (didn’t remember how many days). I guess all info isn’t updated yet.
@@tfft- Yeah, I was surprised too when I got on board.
I"m from Wisconsin and $9 for a beer or $11 for a mixer is an outrage!
Yes, but this cruise isn’t in Wisconsin lol.
@@tfft 😆
@@tfft how am I supposed to get appropriately shit-faced?!😆
At the 2 hour free flowing sail away. I not only got shit faced but also a extra huge hangover the next day.@@leneeanderson4848
VIRGIN anything are always for people that values form over function.
Virgin Records?
@@tfft Sold to UMG in 2012 and targeting the same vain people
You're just a spring time breeze aren't ya?
@@tfftNever heard of that expression so no idea what it means
must be nice to do adults only cruise.......still waiting ugh
You'll survive lol
I take it you didn’t go to Bodrum
I did, it was just neither the best or the worst lol
It looks as if this cruise was a year ago? Why have you waited a year to upload?
Cruise videos take me as long as 3-4 flight/hotel videos to make, so it’s simply finding a slot in my editing a schedule to actually have time to do it.
That said, there’s nothing that has near significantly changed since my cruise.
As an asian introvert - cruise ships are not for me. They are interesting, but nope. However thanks for sharing this with us.
@@tfft Hey thanks for your very detailed reply! (I LOVE detail!) I think you've convinced me to go ahead and book a VV cruise :)
Just to Highlights, never ever use that glass in the cabins, I can guarantee you in about 85% most of that glass is not clean. Better ask bottle of water. Peace out.
Yes, living in a bubble will always be safer lol
So glad I watched this virgin voyages looks soooo tacky and cheap looking cabins are appalling
To each their own.
Worst cruise I’ve ever been on and will never go on one again with virgin.
Thoughtful
Awful. Not for me. Aussie Bob
To each their own lol
"Drinks are reasonably priced as well"
"Beer are 7-9 $"
That's not reasonable at all. Except they give you at least a litre of beer.
Lol I don’t know where you drink but $7-9 including tax and tip is a steal compared to the vast majority of the west (and other cruise lines).
