    Danny... I've watched 8-10 different pros on TH-cam to straighten out my swing for Driver and Irons/Fairway. I always come back to yours. Everyone learns things differently depending on how it's presented to them. It' just depends on how we're wired. You've helped fix my driver problems (still working on distance but, that's ok). Now, I'm working on Irons. I've been golfing for 35 years and doing thing wrong. When you're young is easier to compensate but, now I'm 72 and don't have the strength or flexibility I used to have and unless I correct decades of 'wrong', I just won't be able to break 90 consistently. I'm working on my inconsistent iron striking and your videos like this one is getting me back on plane. Thank you.

    I’m 80 years old and decided last year to return to golf for the physical activity. I last played golf in the mid ‘80s. Seems as if I’ve forgotten everything pertaining to a golf swing. I started watching numerous instructors on specific actions of the golf swing. Some were excellent, some weren't as effective. Watching you where you break down each aspect of the issue you are presenting allows me to grasp exactly what you intend for me to get. Thanks. Started last year with teetering breaking 100. Ended the year with 11.6 handicap. Can’t golf in the winter, so I make slow swings in my basement sing the instructions you have been providing. Can’t wait until the temperature gets to at least 60 deg F. Expect to be single digit handicap within a month. Thanks again.

    I love learning about the golf swing from you Danny. You explain how to swing correctly in an easy to understand way. My handicap has improved 4 strokes over the past two years since I began to watch, learn, and practice what you teach. It used to be that when I swung the club I really didn't know where the ball would go. Now I am very confident that the ball will go where I aim. This is a very big deal for me and makes playing more enjoyable and consistent. I have many fewer days when I score 5 or more stokes higher than my handicap. I continue to recommend you to all of my golfing buddies. I see your viewership is growing so a lot of others must be doing the same thing! I cannot thank you enough.

    I really enjoy how you break each lesson or tip down, making it so easy to understand what your saying. I never thought I would break 90. After watching your videos and practicing, I am now playing rounds in the mid to upper 80's and getting better. My new goal is to break 80, my lowest round so far is 84, without my handicap. :)

    Danny emphasises the importance of more weight on the lead foot, and this one instruction is probably worth more than the many offered by others, combined.
    I felt perhaps the reason for moving the ball further forward in the stance for longer clubs might benefit from explaining the reason for doing so.
    It always seems to me to be rather illogical - if one widens ones stance for longer clubs, would not the fulcrum or low point of the swing be further back, relative to one's lead foot? And so, why does the ball go forward rather than back? And, if you do not widen your stance, why would the fulcrum and ball position change? I must be misunderstanding the dynamics somewhere!
    It is an inspiring video, like so many by Danny. I share in extending thanks and appreciation for his efforts to get us enjoying golf more.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Adrian, thanks so much for the feedback and it’s a good question. My goals have never been to grow a channel simply to help golfers get better. With regards course vlogs I’m looking for a format that I think will work.
      The channel is solely here to help you and I didn’t think watching me play golf was very relatable for the average golfer. However, this year I have some plans to produce some course vlogs with some special guests…watch this space.
      With regards equipment reviews. I appreciate it could grow the channel but I’m not a fan of professional golfers reviewing equipment. It would be far better for a group of amateurs of mixed ages and abilities to review golf equipment than us professionals. You are after all the people that are buying these products. Far better to get advice from people just like you testing the product.
      It would give you a much more real and honest review. 😁👌

    That 'choppyness' or swinging down hard on the ball leads to 30yd slicers - I sure can attest!
    All these tips are amazing, thanks again Danny!
    1 more tip to get on the arc or swing plane = flexibility and a bit of strength
    I am 36 battling injuries and a torn rotator and almost all but 2 or 3 guys in the local mens club are NOT flexible nor do ANY strength training.

    great videos danny. the props you have to visualise the arc are really useful -- one thing that occurs to me that wasn't mentioned is that the longer the club shaft, the less curved those arcs are going to be, which (like moving the ball forward in the stance) also gives you less clearance to the ground before the low point. I don't know how significant this is but it was just a thought.

    Thank you for making it so simple. I have been finding that if I get the ball in the right position of my stance, I hit a really nice shot. Keep the same swing. Move the ball.

    Great content Danny! I felt like there needed to be more time given to the fairway wood. It seemed like a quick tag at the very end of the video.

    Life long golfer here, 62 years old, and a plus handicap. The biggest mistake I see among golfers is getting too much weight on the back foot at the top of the backswing, shallowing the arc of the swing, and making the golfer either hit behind the ball, or catching it thin on the upswing. You need to start with the finish ,and work backwards from there. At the finish of the swing you should have the majority of the weight on the left side, and the belly of the golfer facing the target.The iron swing and driver swing are two separate swings completely. The other big mistake, is the reverse weight shift, where the weight shifts from the forward foot to the back foot during the downswing. I am known as a pretty good iron player, and when I practice, I like to feel like i am more over my left foot during the entire swing with my irons. A good drill , is to step through your shots like Gary Player was known for.

  • @NCKDM

    Possibly a stupid question here, but why is it again that the ball position needs to move forward in the stance?
    You mention the margin of error increasing as you push it forward with longer clubs, which makes total sense given where the arc bottoms out, but what are the primary reasons for moving that position forward at all? Is it just giving time to close the clubface, or something else?
    Thanks again for another great year of videos!

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly Nick, as the club gets longer and the loft of it gets less it needs more time to square up

    Wish this video could have come out 50 years ago or at least taught. Great vision to keep in mind as you are about to hit the ball of creating an inside arc of the backswing arc and moving arc forward so club head bottoms out in front of ball.
