    I’ll take Kane Cornes’s assessment, a premiership winning GUT RUNNING defensive mid role player who gave 100% every time he ran out above Sam McClure’s view that it’s ok to be human after a game. You’re at work, you’ve dished up RUBBISH. Get the f@ck off the ground so the people that help pay your wages every week don’t see you laughing before they get on the train with 30,000 others who feel as nauseously sick as they do.

    I can't stand McClure, I respect his opinion. However, seeing players laugh after a game while displaying horrible effort doesn't look good after the game with fans who are paying moeny and wasting their time supporting your team. They are at work, and smiling, cracking jokes whatever it seems, it doesn't look good.
    This is coming from a Carlton Support btw, so I feel for Bomber fans.

      I’m a Eagles fan… and I hate losing so much😂. It hurts a little more when one supports a historically successful team and watching embarrassing footy (west coast win a flag every 9 years, and make a grand final every 5 years according to stats…)
      My club has existed for around 36 years… 4 flags, 7 grand finals… so it sucks going through this period right now… but I got to stay positive. Every team has to endure these lumps over the years… but god I hate losing 😅

    Has McCluer ever played sport? (I'm too old to play not but) When I lost a game, I shook hands with the opposition and stormed off, absolutely furious... after EVERY loss. I was always outraged by losing. Have friends from other clubs, fine, but smaile and chat away from the ground, during off-season. I'm a Bombers fan and this vision makes me wonder why I care. They obviously don't.

    • @mindzeye123123
      @mindzeye123123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      If you play sport for a living and you let every loss affect you this much then you are probably going to end up with awful mental health and burned out very early in your career. Losing is a part of all competition, I'm not saying relish in it or be comfortable with it, but you have to have some way to turn it off after the game. Micheal Jordan went out and partied with opposing teams players(Barkley, Oakley etc) after a loss, drinking and gambling until early hours of the morning and he's still seen as one of the most fierce competitors and best winners of all time.

    Sadly, this is and has been the culture at our club for some time now. It's why ''nice guy, nonchalant'' Heppell is the captain, it's why Truck gets the coaching gig without interviewing. Merrett was never going to leave because he knows if he played for a contender, he'd have to work a lot harder, especially on the defensive end and like Kane highlights here with Parish, our guys aren't engaged nor prepared to work hard, unless we have the ball. Now imagine being a young player coming into a club whereby these are your senior guys; the guys you're suppose to be learning from.

    I'm with Cornes on this one. We have the same issue at our Bowling club. My message to the players is that if we lose, after the game, shake hands, say well done, pack up and head to the social club. Don't stand around chatting on the greens. It's a terrible look. Im at the point that shiel is our worst midfield im loving our young kids because yeah there is footage of parish pretty much starting to walk but i love our young kids that hunt. But I believe with merrit out some of our mids have forgotten there role and our defenders are just getting smashed because of it. also 2m peter pretty much did nothing not many times there was a 1 on 1 and his leads were just a tad early to the ball every time.

      I agree with kane but what annoys me is if this game was a goal in it or two i think they would show more hurt over that instead that get smashed like this and not really show much hurt to this type of lose

    • @dansharp2860
      @dansharp2860 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bromax8939 Yep, by the time the siren blows they have already accepted that they were going to lose and had to process that mentally. They can chat and smile because the game was really over a while ago and they have already moved on by the end. That might be a healthy response but it's not hurting like Heppell suggests. Close losses hurt more because of the lack of process time. It hurts if you were still in it.
      The Bombers need to loose some of this attitude real quick. All losses should really hurt and smiling and chatting with the other team, even if they are mates, after getting smashed needs to stop. Catch up with your mates later, not on the ground. Walk off like every game means something and they might actually start to believe it and do the little things good teams do to win.

    Sam McClure, how many games of AFL football did you ever play? How can you possibly question Kane Cornes' assessment of the body language of the Essendon players after the match? He played over 200 games of AFL football. I think that he would be a good judge of whether players appear to be hurting or not.

    an umpire can make a horrific call and dictate a game on such calls, but the players are supposed to "accept it and move on".
