Criticism and feedback is something that everyone should listen to. No one is perfect, and you can always learn to improve. Sounds like he listened to the feedback on his book and took that advice and is using it to make the best book he possibly can it's a very mature approach, and I'm excited to see how it turns out.

They use their powers to help people in their community, but one day they end up pissing off the devil, who takes one of the brothers down to hell as revenge. The remaining brothers make a deal with the devil to do him a favor which leads them on a wild goose chase after demons, the most difficult ones to face being those inside their own hearts. I say it’s Charmed meets Desperado, but I’ve had an editor say it’s also a Latinx Supernatural.
Just finished reading the first book and YES. It really picks up at the second chapter and certainly deprived me of an hour of sleep. The ending is beautifully written and strong and I cannot wait for the next book! My friends are getting a new book recommendation

Adapt!! Its always good for everyone. However, I do feel there is a difference in adapting and keeping a gut feeling or desire. At the end of day, its your work and you want it to represent YOUR vision. As long as adapting doesn't change how you feel about your work when its done, its worth it!

just grabbed Breach of Peace so I'll be diving into that soon. That being said, I think it is absolutely imperative that an author adapts to their story. Discovery Writing is valid and in my opinion the preferred way to write. Staying rigidly to a plan can make you blind to the development and advancements that your characters and world are making. The real world doesn't act according to a plan too. People shape the world in unpredictable ways. Stories should act this way as well.
So looking forward to the next book - and I love that cover! Really enjoyed the first one and I really liked the novella format. I thought the ending was a real stunner! Having said that, a longer book in which to explore your world (complete with the excellent steampunk sensibility!) will be fantastic :D
It is crazy how plans can change as a story progresses. I've been through the process of writing three different stories and when I settled on the third it turned into something I'm not sure is better as separated like regular books or serialized like the webnovel it is right now. I dont know what I'm doing! XD
So far I am enjoying it, the only critique I would offer is that the way your characters speak is a lot like people speak today, if they’re from another time, or another place, then they should speak differently, and have sayings that are unique to their world/culture. For me that would really add to the emersion.
JUST finished Breach of Peace (like, 20 minutes ago) and yes I need book 2!!!! (It did feel short, in that I was super invested then I looked at how few pages I had left and I felt that nooo this cannot end like this--) So yeah, super excited for what's next!!

I'm almost finishing my first book now 😁 Ps: I already have the tittle of every single books, and I know how they story gonna turns out, as well as the ending. But, damn, I'm lying if I say it's easy. I've spent 2 years to write this first book.
Such a fantastic learning curve. I think the novella was definitely the right idea mate, great chance to learn before jumping straight into the deep end of the pool 😂. Can’t wait to read this one.
