What a pity, a sad story. Syd Barett was a talented, gifted young man. He founded Pink Floyd at the age of 19. He made one record and released two singles. He wrote 52 songs. He was kicked out at the age of 22. He made two solo records after that. His musical processing is not so good. Syd Barett was already ill. It's sad that he never had therapy. It wasn't easy for Syd and his family. Psychiatry wasn't ready back then. But it was in the 80s and 90s. He needed therapy to get his psyche back on track. Sad. He failed as a painter and musician.
Psychiatrist are a fraud. I have one in the family. Look at stats, suicides, health issues now compared..syd hated people and I’m sure he enjoyed his solitary life without dumbasses like u.
If you ask me syd barrett didn’t go mad he was kicked out of the band because they didn’t mend well with him hemp over time or it didn’t cohesively make sense
He was abandoned in his time of need. When someone clearly aught to seek help for a mental condition, the other band members didn't make sure Syd received this. In those days there was provision for assistance with nervous breakdowns but the stigma around this could have been an issue for the other Pink Floyd group members.
@@-roejogan- Having seen Roger Waters doing a public speech at a Julian Assange demonstration, he struck me as someone who is intolerant and not very compassionate in the way he delivered his talk. Do wonder what the other band members felt about leaving Syd to his fate and not doing any more to assist him. After all, he was their main songwriter and creative force in the group. Just noting that Syd made two solo albums with contributions from other Floyd members so they were able to continue working with him when his mental state was deteriorating.
A very talented man with problems💔
Sounds like it had a lot of potential.
I cant believe they havent made a movie about syd
God bless SYD total genius RIP SYD
This sounds pretty cool actually
Syd is the chiarroscuro of music…turned sound into visual and the physical.
Fantastic
Sounds like he was so good at creating on the guitar he dgaf if people understood.
Syd. The boy fancied himself a poet.
Esto es lo más psicodelico qué he escuchado de syd, sin duda los 70's son la mejor época de la psicodelia
Thanks Syd.
The real deal. Like always.
Maybe Syd Barrett wanted to go out in a pacive yet decisive Blaze of Glory.
Notoriety or not.
Boogie.
I know this is 1974 but sounds like 1968!
It was 1974. He went into the studio for the last time in August 1974 with his former manager, Peter Jenner producing.
What studio was it?@@AwesomeVideoExperiences
Abby Road in London
He was rusty, and it's a bootleg. It sounds heavier than 1968 to me overall. It's also only a fragment of his whole session.
1968 was a place to Syd. It was the place where Syd got stuck and couldn't get out. Too bad. He was a very talented guy.
I wonder if this is his brain telling us how his brain feels to him now
Is this the group he formed called Stars?
Where did you get this?
Hmmm...
He became ill!

He certainly did not fail at either music or art, what a stupid comment.
He didn’t fail
@@mariodan88 of course he didn’t, saying he failed as a painter and musician is pure stupidity…shame on the dunce that posted that.
Poor little rich boy 100k a year royalty check in today's money😢

Schizophrenia treatment has come so far since his days very sad
IT can stop you from suffering a new psychosis (positive Symptoms). But IT cannot cure the damage its already done sadly, which is a total lethargy

@@bodhiapurva3887 Pink Floyd isn't the NHS.
REAL OR FAKE ?
Fake
One bad acid trip can ruin a life
it was much more than that in Syds case...
Das Gitarrenspiel ist nicht von Syd... Das macht jemand anderes.😮
Yes it is. Its a portion of music he made in the studio in 1974.
There is a link between acid and gut bacteria!
it's a shame more musical geniuses didn't have mental issues .
But what came first?
Just say no kids.
Never heard of him
