For those wondering, this is caused due to the main flex cable being damaged. It inputs the signal to the display from the motherboard. This is not something you can fix since the cable is the main display cable hardwired to the glass. Unless you have a professional lab to micro solder, it’s cheaper to get a $30 replacement.
What would be some of the causes for these horizontal lines appearing would you say?

Random i never dropped my switch and my whole screen has like black lines and ghosting of old pixles
That especific horizontal lines it's caused by the reflection of a very strong light for a long time at the screen. (for example, the sun light)

Excellent video like usual, but one little detail about the replacement a new digitizer: you need a double adhesive foam tape to hold the LCD or else it will move around in the case. It just happened to me today after resassembling the whole thing.

@@sthetixofficiali’m having an enormous problem with my switch. Every time I turn it on it shows vertical lines that it turned or a black screen. And now when I turn it on it just shows the black screen. It still works still makes sound but it’s just the black screen please give me some info on how to fix this problem please

will this fix a red/blue line on the LCD?
it showed up one day and i'm not sure if it's because of the battery swelling or just the LCD somehow going bad. I don't remember it happening. it just showed up one day.
if it is not permanent, then dont worry about it. but if it is something like in this video, you need to replace it.
I wonder what is the issue why this happens. Mine is always docked and rarely used. I was so surprised when i took it out to clean and saw the lines. It ruined my day because i never mishandled it, never dropped, not even a scratch.

Overheat problem….my Switch still have no problem for about 3 years. I mostly played handheld mode.

Great Video. I have a question tho. Is it necesessary to remove the whole board? I can see that somewhere on the process it revealed the lcd cable already, I am scared to remove the whole board since I jb soldered switch.

@@sthetixofficial I don't know the diode values it's yellow lighting into red and also my b point broke off the oled hwfly chip last night is there an alt point with a multimeter?
we can repair the B point on the modchip.

yes on the switch lite. but not on the regular switch.

Cannot.
Is it really necessary to open the motherboard? You can just disconnect the lcd cable and open the digitizer without opening the motherboard which is way more safe (?)
of course. how can u remove the cable if u dont remove the board. you might end up bursting the lcd socket and the flexible cable itself

you can but you better use IPA, as it is far easier than using heat.

@@hellopo5218ipa does not conduct electricity and overall evaporates easily. It may be the safest thşng to use on electronic devices. Make sure you use the highest percent ipa.

Can you do a tutorial on how to fix bricked 3ds that shows a blue screen after booting up the 3ds. This error is caused when the console has missing NAND Files.

Changed mine but the screen is white. But when i touch the screen i can hear a clicking sound (means it is working) and I was able to play games when connect it to my monitor. Any idea what I missed after replacing the lcd?
you might have busted the LCD socket.
