I have seen all three seasons absolutely fantastic, puts Homeland completely to shame. Israel haters loath this show because it shows the Israelis caring, thinking, and in a good light. The entire team is cast so well but my favorites have to be doran and Captain ayub.

As an American with no Jewish roots, I have absolutely no idea if anything depicted in the three seasons (to date) of “Fauda” is accurate or fairly portrayed but I can tell you the writing, acting and directing are superb. The series is evocative and that’s a great reason to watch. I hope there will be more seasons of “Fauda” and perhaps more series like it. Are you listening, Netflix?
Well Lior Raz (Dorom) served in duvdevan. The other writer is a journalist that his specialty is the israeli-palestinian conflict. Both of them are Zionists so they tell it from the Israeli point of view but they also show the Palestinian point of view.
Fauda is a great show because it's realistic & it shows the complexity of the conflict. You can empathize with both sides or at least have an understanding of each side's perspective.

The son of this Sheikh, Nidal, antagonist of the second season, appeared to be an ISIS official, fluent in Hebrew and way more tough and cruel than Abu Ahmad. He murdered Doron’s father out of revenge and then Doron in despair let them arrest Shirin (an official wife of Valid and Doron’s mistress who switched sides) and after short talk with her husband in the investigation room she committed suicide, because he threatened her badly and Doron refused her in anger... Well, and that boy was a boxer and Doron trained him, being infiltrated to kill his cousin. When he achieved that, Bashar was doomed, so he had no choice but to become a terrorist himself.

The Israelis don’t look good in Fauda. It’s like a film noir . No good guys ! Just complicated personalities . That’s what makes it great
