I've read some articles from Polygon, IGN and Lenovo website itself. Legion Go S will be available with Z2 Go or Z1 Extreme. Z2 Go have the higher price.
They're the exact same model, but the SteamOS version is $100 cheaper. I assume Valve partly subsidised the GO S or that it's cheaper because OEMs don't need to pay for a SteamOS licence, unlike Windows.
@pixels_per_minute Nope, SteamOS is free of charge. Lenovo must include the license fee for Windows for the other model which is why the Windows model is more expensive.
New to hand helds, been using custom built desktop for awhile. Trying to make a decision on purchasing. A LOT of people talk about "Steam OS" how amazing "Steam OS" is, but I have no experience with anything other than windows. Please educate me. If I trade my recently purchased 1TB Lenovo Legion Go for the new Steam OS Legion Go. Will I only be able to play Steam games? Can I play my games from say Epic Games? GOG Galaxy? Or brows the web? Dumb question, I'm sure, but I genuinely want to know.
Nah not a dumb question at all. You can do those libraries but have to use the desktop one time to get them set up for the console interface. Keep note though you can't play absolutely everything. I would definitely recommend looking up the multiplayer games you play to see if it runs on SteamOS, some anti cheats don't support it yet. Would nonetheless recommend SteamOS for it's future and play those games elsewhere for now if possible. If not, totally understandable. Have a good one 👌 hope this was a tad helpful.
Should have increased the price and put amoled screen. That's a big selling point. People will probably still keep or buy steamdeck cus of that amoled screen.
I dont understand the hype. Can someone explain it to me. If you want portable gaming with steamOS.. why dont buy a steamdeck????? Why are people happy for this? Is this device stronger? Cheaper? I dont understand for real
Yeah I think this is a little inaccurate. Official specs say Z2G (Z2 Go) which is a Lenovo exclusive chip that is probably slightly worse than a Z1E/Z2 but definitely more performant than Sephiroth/Aerith that's in Steam Deck.
This is completely untrue. Steam OS is linux based (open-garden) and while it is steam at the forefromt., you can install games from any store. If a game is not supported , that's because developers don't chose not to enable it. Even games with anti cheat like marvel rivals can work perfectly if the developers are willing. Please don't spread misinformation
@@shariarrahman7562 SteamOS is Linux based just like ChromeOS is "Linux based" and MacOS is "Unix based". They're stripped of useful repositories and restrict your use of the device. The fact printers don't work on SteamOS tells you valve has likely stripped CUPS, meaning they have heavily stripped Arch.
Yeah I'm not trying to downgrade so they need to release that Legion go 2 because the two legion go s's are going to be a waste of money for them to invest in because not that many people are going to buy it because it's just a downgrade it's like if you're purchasing the Legion Go that's out right now
It’s not targeted towards current legion GO owners obviously. It’s for people that want to upgrade from the steam deck or the Ally non Z1extreme or people new to the handheld market that don’t need something super powerful and don’t want to break the bank.
@Misaac yeah but it's still downgrade because you could pay $500 for a Legion go 1 doesn't matter if you're new to the handheld PC or if you're upgrading from a steam deck if somebody actually looks into it and somebody is going to look into it if they're going to spend their money because both Legion go s's have the same thing that the original Legion Go has so I understand what you're saying but you have to think outside the box if I was upgrading from a steam deck and I seen that the Legion go original I can find it for $500 or even less than that and it has the same features as the new Legion go s then why am I going to bother getting that one if I could detach the controllers or have a bigger screen so like I said to be honest with you they got to flop on sales with that legend go s but the only cells they're going to do good on and I'll say might is the legion go 2 That's if they don't hack up the price because if they do then they are not going to do no good sales on it because not that many people will purchase it
@@LazCrazyTech The Legion Go S still has newer hardware inside than the current Legion Go. I get the original has a higher maximum potential in terms of power, higher resolution, higher refresh rate screen etc. But if they’re both the same price and someone has to decide. There’s plenty to differentiate and pick at. The Legion GO S has non detachable controllers. Maybe people don’t want to pay $500 for detachable controllers. Maybe it’s too big for some people. Maybe they want a device with SteamOS out of the box because they aren’t tech savvy enough to install it themselves. The current legion GO also sports 16gb of RAM while the S has 32gb. Point is higher resolution and fps aren’t the only factors that matter. Why pay $500 for a device that you hate holding when there’s one for the same price that feels just right. There’s a target audience for this device. Just because it might not be for you doesn’t mean it’s not everything someone else was hoping for in a handheld. The great thing is. This is pc handhelds we are talking about here. They keep coming out with more and that upgrade you’re looking for is surely around the corner.
Stating at $500 this thing is going to be a hit
It comes with z1 extreme, so problably around 2 hrs battery 12w TDP
does it support egpu ?
hope to see in depth review videos ❤
This will drastically reduce the number of returns, something that was a persistent problem with the Go and the Ally.

It's not z1 extreme, it's z2 go
It's even worse than z1 extreme, older architecture, older igpu
I've read some articles from Polygon, IGN and Lenovo website itself. Legion Go S will be available with Z2 Go or Z1 Extreme. Z2 Go have the higher price.
The white windows Legion Go S has the Z2. Probably going to get that, then install Bazzite or Steam OS in May
No, they have the same chip
No. Both the SteamOS and the Windows versions have the exact same custom chip : AMD Z2 Go, and not the Z1 Extreme as stated in the video.
They're the exact same model, but the SteamOS version is $100 cheaper.

@pixels_per_minute Nope, SteamOS is free of charge. Lenovo must include the license fee for Windows for the other model which is why the Windows model is more expensive.
its actually worse, its using the Z2GO which is worse than the Z1E
How's the battery performance
I would like to see a handheld pc in a size of a Switch Lite for a reasonable price. 🎮 That would actually be portable.

Amd playing with all handheld makers, they announced 380 and 390 series right there and yet they give them Z1 cpus 😂😂😂
You look high bro 😂
Whar about the battery?
55 watt
@oscargomezrivera so along with steam os, we should have solid battery life right?
Should have increased the price and put amoled screen. That's a big selling point. People will probably still keep or buy steamdeck cus of that amoled screen.
no 32gb/1tb option?? seems like the windows version is the only one with those specs
Maybe the idea is that Linux uses less ram?
@ReveriePass not sure, hopefully it's just an oversight from today because it would be great to get that version for steam os
They also said the wrong processor in the video, so I’d wait until the official product listing from Lenovo.
@Aldrnari956 agreed
AND ONLY TWO BACK BUTTONS WOW WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT. CANT WAIT TO PURCHASE😊
1:26 next time you will hear that will have ai on it
Almost perfect... If it only had a proper battery and a Z2 😢
Z1 e processor is very disappointing. That is a last year chip. The needed an update there
Z1e is a good processor why is it disappointing?
facts!
Yea especially when they're saying the Steam version won't be out til May 2025.
2 years in 4 months
It's using the Z2 processor 😂
Its z2 go not z1 extreme which is weaker
I dont understand the hype. Can someone explain it to me.
If you want portable gaming with steamOS.. why dont buy a steamdeck?????
Why are people happy for this? Is this device stronger? Cheaper? I dont understand for real
because legion go s has a better screen, 32gb of ram and a better processor, that's why it's better to have a go s and not a deck.
aint the legion go S both rock a z2?

I believe it's Z2 (the entry level one)
too bad its not an oled
😲
gods this guy is boring
Did you really had to stay this off in the most cringy way possible?😑
