Seeing Fatshark port over the Executioner Sword moveset from VT2 into Darktide makes me wonder if they might end up putting something like a Bretonnian Longsword melee in the far future; it'd be hilarious watching a Zealot fight with poise and finesse instead of being an absolute maniac
that's pretty much what the original Eviscerator has, it's reliant on using combos to maximize your DPS against either hordes or elites, at least from what I've seen

@@Marchochias Power level is stupid, there are a lot of "normal" humans in the lore who accomplish stuff that space marines and more powerful things fail to do. Practically everyone has killed a Daemon Prince at this point. Four skilled people with nothing to lose taking on hordes of chaos, including daemons, is not lore breaking, it's par for the course.
@@Killazaapower level does not apply to exceptions anyway, lore might be grimderp but gameplay will always be the exception when it comes to power leveling. With the recent update we killed the twins which I'd say are basically the same power level as the assassins of the imperium.

This is the longest time I've ever seen someone successfully-at this difficulty, not to mention being solo-just swing through hoards without blocking or shoving.
TL:DR at bottom. LONG POST: This sword is AMAZING for clearing hordes. Make sure you don't skimp on the cleave stat. This will determine if you can cut through 2 enemies and stop on the third or cut through 6 enemies in one sweep - that will determine if you can can 2 enemies per attack vs 6. This directly affects how fast you can regen toughness from kills. Having 1 cleave perk on top of that is nice. What makes this weapon great is the combination of the side to side attack, the long reach, and the stun on hit. This weapon does good stun on hit, up to something like 0.4. What this means is that you can stunlock an ENTIRE horde by yourself IF you have enough cleave. The point of this weapon is NOT raw damage (Though it does do a decent job). The point of this weapon is to hold the line for your team. As such, wrath and rampage are the king combo. You can switch rampage to other blessings, but rampage lets you hit some good break points against hordes. Wrath is amazing against hordes and is better than savage sweep because savage sweep only triggers on a 3 enemy hit. If there is a mauler in the horde, that mauler can EASILY prevent you from triggering savage sweep, but will NOT prevent you from triggering Wrath. If you have enough cleave, you can cut through Maulers, and thus ALSO stun them. I can't tell you how useful this is. If you can hit them before they start their attack chain, you can stunlock them. The heavy attack being a very strong single target means you can smoke specialists in 1 hit. You could also ditch rampage for bloodletter to deal with crushers easier. As this is a support weapon, the stats I have on mine seem bad, but make the weapon VERY useful. It is not NEARLY optimized, but it holds up in damnation well. Base 377. Damage - 68% Pen - 79% Cleave - 80% Mobility - 80% Shredder - 70% Perks - +20% block efficiency, +2 stamina Blessings - T3 rampage - T3 wrath Pen is more important than damage on this weapon by A LOT. Max pen x Min damage is more powerful than Min pen x Max damage. Mobility - lowers block cost enough to be able to res people like ogryn. On top of one +2 stamina curio, The 80 mobility extra stamina, and the +2 stamina perk, and the minus 20% block cost I have a CRAZY amount of res-shield. Cleave - The difference between bad cleave and good cleave can mean that rampage doesn't/barely procs or high cleave can mean it procs every swing no matter what. Having high cleave also means you get a MUCH higher kills-per-swing, which is VERY important for regenerating toughness AND stunlocking hordes. Shredder - I generally use this as my dump stat as this weapon is for hordes not single target. If I am going to target crushers as my team position, I run my Orestes Mk4 chainaxe with t4 slaughterer (+power on kill) and t4 thunderous (+brittleness on hit.) I can kill any crusher in 3 light attacks, which is VERY VERY fast on that weapon. 1-3 light atacks on maulers. 1-2 on ragers. 2 lights for mutants, 2 for the other ogryns and 1 for basically anything else. TL;DR - ooga booga yes Epic horde weapon - passable single target weapon. AMAZING utility weapon. EDIT: You can see what I'm talking about with the low cleave being bad in the vid above. ANY time he hits an elite in the horde, he gets stopped. He only hits 2 enemies vs 4-6. This is a dps difference of TWO OR 3 TIMES. Max cleave and Max pen are WAY more important than max damage for stats ON A HORDE CLEARING WEAPON. Example: I would rather do 250dmg to 6 enemies per swing than 400 damage to two enemies per swing. The first one is 1500dmg per swing. The second is 800.
I love the MK15 as well, the moveset and damage output is great for annihilating hordes practically solo, especially if you modify the damage to fuck up the specialists. However I usually have been using my revolver to clear elites and then run in with the sword. Of course, that's only on Malice, so it's a lot easier to do. So far the new revolver hasn't been very satisfactory due to the damage output and the effective range in comparison to the other one. Maybe I'll feel different later but currently I've been racking up at least 20 elite/specialist kills on a malice match with no modifiers.
Yeah I don't know why everybody is in love with the new revolver I feel like it sacrifices 2 very important stats and just increases reload speed in return. I'd rather 1 tap 5 specials and have to reload for a while than use 2 to 3 bullets on each special enemy when the revolver has 5 bullets in total. It's like reloading after every kill vs reloading after 5 kills.
@@The-Enemy-Medic Exactly. Plus the time needed to get a good shot on a special with the new one is much higher unless you're close to them. Sometimes I see specials down the hall and I know I can hit them, but with the new one even if they're just down the hall I'm likely to miss unless I take a few seconds to aim, and I don't really have enough time to do that with the enemies around. Especially with snipers, it just doesn't feel like a better choice for what I need it to do for my build.
When i first used this sword i actually had trouble in keeping the light attack chain going for some reason, maybe i was clicking too fast or too slow but it would stop after every second swing for some reason.
Eviscerator has always been awesome, the older MK was just not the best against armoured elites, but a revolver fixes that. The new eviscarator is better against armoured elites due to higher single target damage.
@@Tyrgalon I am honestly not too big on the mobility loss versus using 1handed weapons, for the same reason I rarely ran executioner's in favor for the bretonnian longsword
@@r2dbk I feel plenty fast with my build but depends on what you are used to I guess, the extra charges from cleave hits with crit build when your neck deep in a horde helps you move around as well.
Its just a Heavy Sword but with Rev.... fundamentally, the weapon is still not good because it literally had to be changed to a Heavy Sword to be competitive. The Chain Axe in comparison kept its identity during the balance pass.
Funny you say that cause it's actually a direct moveset import from a vermintide weapon called the executioner's greatsword. Only difference being that the push attack is better.
How are you getting such consistent L1 swings? This weapon feels very clunky to L1 spam with, like there's a delay or something afterwards unless you're clicking incredibly fast... Are you timing your clicks?
Just wondering. What are the combos / gameplay loop for this? Light spam for hordes? Do you weave in specials or heavys? I'm new to Zelalot so it's a bit difficult to tell
It's mostly light spam for hordes but you can also rev before the light attack to cleave multiple heads without getting stuck unless you hit an elite. Heavy attack is for the armored or single target you really want gone. This is just my preference but I also recommend a +2 stamina curio to be able to block more damage, especially when you get targeted by a monstrosity. Hope this helps!
Just curious, how come you’re using specialist damage bonus with the eviscerator instead of maniac? Don’t ragers become a big issue since the hyper armor and your slow movement and dodge penalty from the big sword?
If you enjoyed playing with Shred, I would strongly encourage you to give Bloodthirsty a try ;) Revved L1 spam carves through poxwalkers / groaners hordes, it is quite obscene. Also, the ability to force a crit pairs incredibly well with shroudfield, for truely massive Monstrosity damage. +25% dmg to carapace perk and a couple martyrdom stacks is all the setup you need for your heavy revved crits to 1 shot a crusher without even hitting the weakspot. I know a lot of people don't like spamming the activation, but for me, it's been a revelation, I used to think that Bloodthirsty was a waste of a blessing, but no more :)
I gotta say, playing this evicerator (with perfect strike) with charge and blazing piety feels REALLY braindead, I ain't saying it's particularly a bad thing, it's simple and it's powerful, but very mind-numbing xD, there isn't really too much you gotta think about, like, at all. It's just M1 spam galore all day all night.
I do miss the cleaving heavy of the original; it can get a rager inside horde quite easily when revved up and did decent armor dmg when cleaving through crushers. And if I really needed vertical heavy, I can always push to get to it. Maybe the trash players will finally figure out how to ultspam on zealot now that it takes absolutely zero skill(spam lmb rofl). The new one's lightspam feels kinda slow and the push stab is just so bad(chainsword and eviscerators are mostly blunt at the tip, it makes no sense to poke people with it).
I don't understand how to be as confident under the fire. Like at 1:43 man just doesn't give a fuck about shots at him. When these fuckas shoot at me I'm just being stucked at the place while not able to move, gain speed to slide, etc. How do you guys deal with swarms of shooters while playing as zealot?
@@AfterDawn. It basically turns your melee weapon into the equivalent of a full auto rifle etc to save you spamming left click constantly. I see no issue here. Plus it's apparently more reliable/precise than a mouse macro
Is there any reason to use the other one now? Are the blessings different? Because it seems like the new one has better patterns and damage where it matters.

what's the perk and blessing you need?
I spent an obscene amount of dockets rolling a good one but my goodness, worth it, clears hordes faster than a flamer and turns elites into chunks.

Correction, I'm averaging around 40-50 elites and specialists per match. 20 was just the melee elites I was reading

So far, best Weapon in the game for me. Easy Handling like Bull Butcher Knife, but also with great damage on carpaced and even unyielding Enemies.
Seems I'll have to try this one again, it was hard to use anything but the antax mk v for a while but the cadia mk xiiig has been really fun and fast
