Tried a lot of chairs, including Embody and Aeron, and personally I couldn't be happier with the Aeron. Embody was way too warm for me, even with balance fabric, it also was really noisy (squeaky). Aeron lets me sit comfortably throughout the whole day at my home office, zero sweating, great support.
Mesh is not the most comfortable, but sweaty balls, and ass is a no go for me lmao.
@@alexworm1707 😂
that front tilt to the front is a game changer for aeron. thats solely the reason why I chose it
Have the Embody Gaming for two months now, super happy. Took me a bit to get adjusted to it and find the perfect position.
Also I do admit it needed a lot of tweaking - Atlas headrest, Aloudy armrest cushions, and a good footrest. But my back has improved so much over my previous office chair (which cost more than the Embody).
There's only one chair on the planet which is more comfortable, the Joris Square, but that's a living room chair that is useless for an office (since it's not height adjustable). And it costs twice as much.
I've never sat in an Aeron, and I'm thankful for it. I'd never wish for my Embody to believe my love to be less than completely true. And even if I never get to Heaven, I'll have at least sampled the seating.
Haha -Greg
Awesome videos. The Embody has been a letdown for me, I haven't tried the Aeron. Embody is more of an art chair than it is a comfort chair. I have a newer office Embody with the extra foam layer but it's not really enough. I can feel the support strips and plastic in the seat and it's not great. The back adjustment just isn't great and the lower plastic bit of the backrest feels hard and annoying after awhile. I also noticed some tailbone issues after using it a bunch. While I like how it can extend to support my legs, overall it's just not all that comfortable for me. I also had to lubricate the heck out of the seat frame rails with spray lithium grease to get it mostly quiet. Right now I'm sitting in a BTOD remanufactured Leap v2 and looking at my Embody. Does that say anything? Thumbs up.
Leap V2 is an incredible chair I brought one into the office and I can sit in it all day, I have a Hermann miller Ayron remastered at home now because I like to rock back-and-forth a lot
Between the gaming embody and the fern (digital knit confg) which produces more heat?
Embody is the best for me, especially the gaming one. I have owned Aeron class and remastered, leap v2, Fern.
Personally prefer Embody(gaming)>Embody>leap v2>Fern> Aeron remastered>Aeron
Your probably short. What height you are ?
Just picked up the HM X Logitech Gaming Embody, and there is NO squeaking on this chair like other reviewers have found on theirs. Absolutely thrilled!
That will change over time. Trust me. Mine was completely silent with no squeaks when I got it. Now it's pretty squeaky
Could you please review the Sihoo m57? Do you have any opinion on that one?
Did the “pokey sensation” in the regular Embody not get significantly reduced with the 2021 “silent upgrade” to the padding?
Hey I'm trying to find a new chair but I have no idea where to start. I am 6'2 140 lbs and I am still growing. I love my current chair's ability to lay almost all the way back but I would be willing to let it go. Is there any chairs you would recommend at anywhere from $250-$500 ish or at the 3 standard price points?
We have a ton of videos that look at chairs under certain price points or all different tiers from $300 up to no budget -Greg
Tried the embody and honestly couldn’t get used to it. It really hurt my back and gave me some nausea and tailbone pain. Going to try a leap next and if that doesn’t pan out maybe a fern. The embody is a great but for the price I would hope the back would’ve been better tbh.
Did you had any issues with the return of the embody? And did you buy the regular one or the gaming one?
How is the gaming embody top of the backrest vs the regular one. I got a regular embody recently and i LOVE the chair. The only slight annoyance i have is that the top of the backrest is just slightly too curved in, especially in the fully upright position. I know the gaming embody has that pad along the spine making the back a bit more flat but does this have the same effect on the top of the backrest or is the curve the same?
The curve is slightly less pronounced on the gaming embody
I have a gaming embody and i do think the top of the backrest is a bit too curved in. It makes it feel like my shoulders and upper back are getting pushed forward. To solve this, I usually just loosen up the tilt tensioner to make the upper backrest flex back more easily. this can be an issue if you like to rock in the chair since it will make the tension too loose to do anything but flop back. My biggest gripe with the chair is that these two settings (upper backrest tension and tilt tension) aren't independently adjustable.
@@ShadyTheef but upper back tension and til tension are adjustable seperately? I do agree that the chair is slightly too curved in (although i have the regular) especially when fully upright (how i use it for gaming) but i habe gotten used to it and especially for office work when reclined and with a loose back i absolutely love the chair now
@@noahvanooijen6640 twisting the tilt tension knob (the same one that has the little joy stick thingy to adjust seat height) will loosen both recline tension and the upper back flex tension. I just wish they had found a way to make these adjust independently so that i could have more recline tension (I'm tall and fat) with less upper back flex tension. I agree with you though, the seat feels best when the upper back is loosened and i'll lock the seat into the first recline position. I think the chair would be better though if upper back flex tension and seat recline tension were independent so i could rock if i wanted to without having to tighten the upper back. They probably could have avoided this issue if the backrest was shaped more like the haworth fern but i still think the embody is a great chair and i use it all the time.
@@ShadyTheef im either not understanding you correctly or the gaming one is different from the regular one. Cus the knob with the jotstick for the height u can twist to change the tension/weight of the recline. And the knob at the back u can twist to adjust the angle of the backrest and loosen/tighten it.
Trying the Aeron for the last few days and I'm experiencing lower back discomfort/pain regardless of how I have the posturefit adjusted. Wondering if it's just a temporary thing or not :/
I don't think you should have any pain.
@@DanielNistrean Yeah but honestly sitting slouched in it is proving to be more comfortable than the typical ergonomic way, but that obviously won't be good in the long run either. I'll try and give it a bit more time but I know for some that the chair just isn't a good fit, so I'm not going to try and force it to make it work. Honestly never really had lower back discomfort in a new chair though, some middle/upper back discomfort which went away after a couple days max after previously sitting in bad chairs.
@@ROFLKNIEFGOESSLIEC The lumbar support tension is adjustable on Aeron, maybe you should ease the tension. When something hurts it's always bad. Ofc Embody seat is more comfortable. I couldn't find a gaming one but I think beeign 2m tall may be a problem for a single size chair.
@@DanielNistrean I'll try dialing it down again but I don't think I had much success with that the other day, thanks though
@@ROFLKNIEFGOESSLIEC Do that. If it still annoys you after few days. Get Steelcase Leap 2 if you are tall or Haworth Fern/Gaming Embody/Ergohuman Generation 2.
Have they ever recommended a tall chair, with or with out head rest; as long as it's tall, where the arms flip back, and is under $300.00 ?
I have IKEA Markus chair and after i seeing your reviews that you recommend S-Tier Herman Miller Embody Gaming chair i bought it. I have to say i absolutely hate it. For me IKEA Markus (150€) is better than HM Embody gaming (1800€). Embody is squeaking and creaking mess from the day 1. Seat extender is squeking the back is squeking and the armrest is making clicking sound (i have to spray it with silicone wd40 the new one...). The seat is very uncomfortable pixels are pressing in the butt cousing pain and the top of the backrest pushes too much into the shoulders...
i assume u can lock these chairs in backward tilting position? backrest.
Honestly disappointed with the Embody but outside of return window - the seat cushion isn't comfortable
Add more cushion then...
@@DarthDre kind of think that shouldn't be necessary on a £1500 chair
@@andrewlee7228 I'm currently using it and I don't need, nor would I want more cushion ( I work 9 hrs in the chair daily) -- but if, for whatever reason someone wants more cushion, then you can add more (hidden) cushion.
For people 190+ cm Embody back is not good, it's not adjustable and the chair doesn't come in sizes.
For the price of these chairs, I'll have to stick with the chair that i got for free. Uncomfortable or not. I could not never justify paying that kind of $$$$$ for an office chair.
Try it before buy . Your body will tell you the answer
Is "getting out of the chair" really an ergonomic "feature?" 0:33
big turn off right off the hop, the sibilance and mouth noises that come thru on the mic under the narration are brutal on the ears.
Embody with a headrest. The Aeron is terrible.
A tier? S tier, you can't have these chairs S tier then later have them below A tier in other videos then have these chairs get bested by the Fern or Leap. If you're gonna churn out videoes do a destruction test, an acid test, UV/Sun test, plastic testing, dust/cleaning test etc. Cmon man a S tier should never fall below B tier in any catagory or else it was never S tier to begin with. if you're gonna be as mediocritic on your critique, as least give them the rottentomatoes rating or the metacritic ratings of 1-100. 65 being F ranked and 95 being the GOAT. If you're gonna shill for these chair companies, cuz you are a chair company, at least do a carpet race test or a coffee stain test, I'm sure it won't even hit your bottom line.
Ryan has ranked the Embody gaming S tier for comfort for a long time. No switching it up, maybe you’re confusing the creator and/or the video? -Greg
Any "review" video that doesn't up front state the reviewer's economic interest in you buying the items being reviewed isn't a review. It's an informercial. TH-cam is full of this garbage.

I hope you're not someone who hears, "ACME Co. sent me a sample to review but as you know this does not affect my opinions" and then believes them??? There is a ton of "infomercial" reviews on YT, but the BTOD guys are not among the guilty ones. Offices I've worked in always had junk chairs, and when I wanted a good one for home, I endlessly tried out chairs myself, then came back to listen to the BTOD guys afterwards to try to understand what I was experiencing. It took a lot of work and expense on my own part (and patience from my wife) to learn to trust their views, and also how my views are different. Educate yourself before you call someone else's work "garbage." Skepticism is healthy but unrestrained cynicism is not.
