Hmm ... I think the "well regarded" status of the Kursk game comes with some asterisks. Personally, I found the good ideas in it overshadowed by the very punitive retreat/ZoC mechanic, which really forced you into straight fronts and took all maneuver out of the game.

It's not as interesting as Campaign for North Africa but I'd like to see how it models things at that scale.
La Bataille needs a new subsystem for skirmishes. They are not modeled correctly in the game.
