Hi, i am working in hedge fund, in my 3 years already and i am thinking of shifting to private market. Do you have any idea how the transition would be, or is it a good decision? In terms or salary/ career growth and workload? Thank you :)
This will be executive director salaries within Merger and acquisitions. Most people working at investment banks are not working 90 hours every week, I can tell you that because I worked at one! Average week on a trading desk is 50-60 hrs. You would never except to work less than 50hrs but only in severe market conditions would you work 90+hrs. MDs might get paid similar to executive directors or they may get paid much more. In my experience MDs and EDs can earn several million a year if they are really some of the best at their job but most of them earn between $450k-$1.5m really depends on the role and your skill.

Hi Ben, my father has worked as CEO/MD in non-New York JPM for the past 20 years since his first working year. How much money including the bonus do you expect he would have made?
