your opinion is NOT a fact because i do not like this and do like the other cars. Imo these cars should not be allowed in the road. They’re dangerous, easily overlooked, too little power to get out of a dangerous situation and if it is involved in an accident you most like die or get seriously hurt because of the lack of safety measure taken whilst making the car.
ive never met anyone who mocks 3 cylinders, i prefer the sound over a v8, call me crazy but i do, they have way more character than most engines especially tiny ones like the 650cc in a suzuki cappuccino
I think people inadvertidly mock the more modern turbocharged 3 cylinder noise. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but these old 3 cylinders are so rough and sound so chunky it's fantastic. Everytime I drive our Citroen C1 (998cc I3) it brings a smile to my face. Always sounds like its got more power than it has.

i have an exact same car like this and i can tell u, if you know it well enough and you drive it like you stole it, it is indeed fun af :D i love how people are surprised about its acceleration if you do it well

People often bash these older economy cars because they're "weak", but forget to realize they weigh very little...from 1500 to 2000 lbs, depending on the version (for this 2nd gen [SF])...the G10 engine itself weighing less than 140 lbs (139 to be exact)...you can have a blast! And it's that thing: a fast car going slow is nowhere near as fun as a slow car going fast. XD Oh, and forgot to add: even driving like you stole it...still managing 7l/100 km...talk about a "best formula ever", hahah!
Very accurate video, especially the lever sounds and the dried leafs blowing into the cabin when turning the fans on. I have this car too, the 3 door version. Very fun and reliable car, everything easy to fix on it too. Very glad I bought this car and thought I'd run it for 3 years and then it would die, but going 3 years strong now with no signs of deterioration or rust or anything.
Made in Japan! Thats why! Japanese cars are very reliable! I want to get one Swift 1.0 cause low services, small dimensions, and very reliable car! But in my country this car at a good condition cost about 2500-3000€!! At this price you can get a BMW e46
@@ailouros1982 Sadly not all of them are. Some were made here in Hungary and I heard it sometimes, that the hungarian made Swifts' body were less stiff and were easier to develop rust. Mine is made in Hungary, I've owned it for almost 4 years now and I paid like half of what I paid for the car to a body shop to get the rust fixed. But other than rust, all of them are really reliable, wherever they were made.

Sure, there would be no space and barely able to drive but it's very do-able ;) It did break down on me once, but a part that is 25+ years old is bound to break sometime, only cost me 125 euros to replace after all brand new part as well.

I had an older model 1.3 little screamer for my first car years ago when I was a kid and so easy to work on and drive like a mad man all my mates loved going for a cruise in it, so comfortable and so much character. Good times
My mate had one of these back in the day as his 1st car, we was on the wrong side of town. Total shitty area, and we was going around a not very sharp bend. At around 30mph. And he lost control, we did a 360 in the road. Ripped both tires off the rim on the kerb as we went up the foot path, went up a bank, then done a quick 180 down the bank and came to rest on the wrong side of the road, we quickly limped the car to the correct side of the road before anyone saw, and parked up. We was both shaking like shitting dogs. Then we got out and debriefed on a plan to get home. He rang the old man and told him what happened. Once that was done we had a quick walk up the road to see what had caused the accident. It was a pair of women's silky briefs laying in the road, the rear wheel clipped it. Was so random. Funny thing I remember till this day 14 years ago was his cd player always used to skip and stop working. It played absolutely flawlessly throughout the whole accident. And the beer bottles in the boot were all good not one smashed bottle. Luckily there wasn't much damage his old man turned up. Looked at the car. Lighter fluid on the tires. Beaded the rims them used the compressor to inflate them. Few cigarettes later we was back on our way. Somewhat still shaken. Was a very quiet ride to our destination. We never spoke about it since.
Omg, I had this car with automatic transmission same engine. It was best car ever! 9 years on duty with out any discuss. And it's sound was truely aggressive with 7000 rpm😈

i grew up with this car, Suzuki in our country (Pakistan) introduced this model (with a local name Cultus) in 2000, and discontinued it in 2018 : ) the car is a real workhorse !
For who? These cars are getting endless money pits as they age. You need to spend a lot on the body work to keep them roadworthy (and safe). If you don't have much money on you buying these cars is a completely dumb idea.

Had one as my first car. Drove it like I stole it, from cold, for about 6 months. Sold it when I thought it was going to blow up. Turned out the buyer drove it for about the next 10 years no problem lol.
I was watching a doug demuro vid where he was driving a convertible model, imported to america and re-badged as a chevrolet or chrysler , definitely worth a look
it was my first car had it for 3 years :) with 185 tires top speed was 145km/h :) it was a good first car to learn the traffic and so on... suzukis were really reliable... i drove them for 20 years :)
Budget cars have really come a long way if we are to take as a barometer this Swift, which was a very popular car, back in its heydays. It really was a utilitarian for people who wanted to go from A to B.

Crazy to think my Suzuki made about the same power and torque, when it was a restricted learner bike. First car i had was a 1993 Corsa though, it made less HP than this Swift, and was 150Kg heavier.

these generation of Suzukis were manufactured in Hungary, and they are quite reliable cars. I would say, this 1.0 liter engine is above expectations.
