what a happy little engine id LOVE to give that girl a good drive and hear the scream all the way to that hundred hourses! man these cars are the greatest, it doesnt matter to be fast, what matters is the memories you make with them
This type of swift was my first car, and my first ever love. I had a 2002 model, and now I own a 2012 Suzuki swift. But I can help but to think back about my 2002 model with great joy, even stock just a fun little reliable car that doesn't shy away from hard work. I had it all stock, and always wondered what you could do with it. So seeing this is great, I love swifts and if I ever have a ton of money to spare I will get another 2002 swift and make sure it doesn't disappear from the streets.
Pretty nice torque from 1.3L engine, I wonder how much gains there are from raising the compression ratio if possible. Being naturally aspirated and tuned 8 valve engine in such lightweight car is pretty fun
Hi! Thanks! I don’t think raising just the compression ratio gives you a lot of power. Because the same amount of air travels through your engine. Sure it gives you a little, if your engine is a bit worn..
@@domi.markushigher compression will allow bigger cams with more lift and duration and thus allow you to rev higher. All high revving powerful NA engines have high compression.
@@EstrogenGhoul yes I know, I made a high compression too because of 280/280 higher lift cams. But this question was related to rasing just the compression
Depends on engine, if theres like 8:1 stock ratio and u raise it a lot and tune u should gain noticable power with just that, ofc if stock compression is high then small change won't be a lot. Have seen someone do that from around 8 to 11 in old motorcycle and gained couple % of power (mesured on dyno) not remember exact hp numbers
These cars are absolutely amazing. They are pretty cheap to buy, run, and give you loads of fun! Soon they will be turning heads also, cause they will be quite rare in non rusted out states
Also pretty dangerous to run them with today's land whale SUVs. Just something to keep in mind, but there's little in the way of frontal or side protection. Some do have airbags, but other than that you have no modern safety features and the lightweight means your vehicle will be the one sustaining most of the damage. For a track car these would be fun still, but they are only slightly better than a kei car. Finding one without rust will also be a huge challenge. In our family we've had two of these with almost 600k miles traveled. Amazing little machines - 60hp doesn't go far fast, but it does do it reliably.
what a nice build. good craftsmanship too. everything looks put together with much care and know-how. thanks for sharing. really enjoyed the view of the engine bay. so clean.

Thanks! Yes, I was curious, how much can achieved with an 8 valve configuration, but with a well balanced power and tourqe curve. As you can see, it is not an all out racing engine, so you can use it as a daily car easily. (But more ideas - with hopefully more power - are coming soon).
Nice build i like how the car looks inside and out especially the exterior looks decent one thing i was wondering why didn't you switch to a G13BB 16 VALVE head im sure you can get more power out of this setup with that head if you do some porting work on it none other then less car sounds great aswell keep it up man
Hi! Thank you! I stayed with the 8 valve config led by curiosity. Yes, the 16 valve would make much more power, because a lot more air flows through the head. For the next engine I’d like to build a 16 valve sohc, hopefully reach 130hp.
I have a 95 sedan, same 1.3 8v G13A.. its a fun car to drive even stock, but i wanna build a setup like yours some day! Please make a detailed video on how you made that engine push 100+ horses. Love from Pakistan.

Hello, I would like to use such a thing for me and if I can see correctly, the collector is from Suzuki Baleno and how does it look in terms of the engine bundle and the computer itself?
Hi! If you mean intake manifold by the collector, yes, it is from a Baleno. The engine harness and the ECU from a Baleno too. But harness was pinned out to match the dashboard and enginebay harness. It ran with a stock Baleno ECU for a half year, after it got a Megasquirt ms2

I like how massive that throttle body is for such a small car! Super cool
