3:18 don't get more than 500 mg of calcium at once. calcium supplements are fine [but wait, what about the risk of nanoparticles in calcium carbonate?. oh, i just had a chat with gpt 4 on the topic, and it said "DIETARY sources of calcium do not typically cause hypercalcemia (excess calcium in the blood), a risk factor for arterial calcification". i think that's important to specify: the 500 mg threshold only applies to supplements. so i guess i can keep drinking my 500 ml of fat-free milk for dinner, even though it gives me 600 mg of calcium].

A high coronary calcium score indicates hardened plaque buildup in the arteries, increasing the risk of heart attack. While we cannot decrease a calcium score, we can prevent its progression and stabilize the current plaque present through science based nutrition and lifestyle changes. A science-based heart-healthy diet helps to stabilize existing plaque, prevent further buildup, reduce strain on the heart, optimize risk factors like cholesterol, blood sugar and inflammation markers, and address underlying causes such as inflammation and obesity - so yes, it’s an important part of the picture! Hope that helps!
