*"Back in my day"* Love the way Mumei said it xD That's a legit advice, you can get more tips if the orders are from nicer neighborhood I don't know why but I love it when Holomembers or Vtubers in general talked about their previous job. It makes them more human(?)
For me, it revealed their age groups, working or studying experiences, family situation, and even their major in college. That helped fans to find their oshi that related closely to their situation. I love that too
GrannyMei: I had to drive FIFTEEN hundred miles in the cold, had to use my own money, and you only would get a tip if your order came from a nice neighborhood. 🦉👵
I love hearing Mumei sharing her past stories like this its so much fun. Tako eats can definitely hire our precious owl as an employee!!! And for me, any Mumei art is worth more than 10$!!!
Mumei had a very different experience than I did on who tipped well lmao Usually the "nice" expensive neighborhoods would tip me below average (both below average just looking at raw tips and especially below average for percent of their order) while the regular, working class neighborhoods would usually go out of their way to make sure I was getting tipped well
Ow what nice surprise my art has made into a thumbnail! I really appreciate you liked it :D I would just link the art itself though, since I've been posting a bit of unwise drawings lately lol, but anyway thanks!
That's pretty sick Mumei was doing deliveries on the tale end of that era. Nowadays its SUPER easy and I'm so thankful it is at times. If I need any spare cash to simp I just do a shift while listening to Holo Streams. I can confirm that this is still the current strat and I was tipped $10 for $5 boba delivery lmao
I'd wager money that lady is a "hopes and prayers" type of person. The kind of person that racks up a huge bill at a diner and leaves one of those fake $100 bills that's actually a message about Jesus as a tip
I totally get where she’s coming from about being in the nice neighborhoods. I did a stint for Uber for a couple of months to try to earn some extra money and THE most contested area was the airport. You pull up to the cellphone waiting lot and you see all the Uber Black drivers with their Towncars and Cadillac SUVs and their slick back hair and their dark sunglasses like you wandered into the wrong neighborhood on the way home from school. So I stayed near and close to the nice neighborhoods because they would all be going to the One Loudoun shopping center to one of the many restaurants and bars, or the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. Drafthouse pickups and drop offs were my favorites because I got to talk to the customers about the movie and by the time it is drop off time it was all high fives, I got decent tips that way. The previous few that I did manage to get from the airport, if it was a hotel that I knew I would ask the customer if they had eaten yet, and if not what the best item on the menu was. There is this trendy hotel call The Loft and I was telling this guy the sirloin steak was phenomenal, big center cut with mashed potatoes and a hearty gravy. About an hour after I drop him off my tip from him came through, it was larger than expected and it had a note “The steak was great, just like you said.” Those moments were the best.
In Japan, there is no tip. I do hope they get sufficient pay though. Also I'm starting to see restaurants pay more now, since nobody wants to work in these times.
There is tip, in very rare cases. Usually, it's considered as rude or insensitive because it's seen as you're judging them. Like, they're not doing enough for you or not working at their best...when they really do.
Evidently life under UberEats/Grubhub is much worse since you’re classified as a contractor and you correspondingly don’t get the kind of benefits and support you used to when you were a proper employee. Stick to being part of Cover, Mumei, it’s hell out there.
Food industry is worse imo, people like their food a specific way and if you don't serve it in a way they've imagined in their minds they get very angry about it. I've been told a steak is too rare when it was cooked well done, if it was cooked anymore it would be leather, when i tried explaining this they went into full Karen mode
iirc KFP was real at some point lol. They had a plan to have food carts in different countries. Sadly I don't remember how successful that plan was, but I think they managed to do it at least partly done.
I have also enjoyed the experience of being a delivery driver and getting home super late at night. And yeah, there are some rather stingy people out there who refuse to give any kind of tip at all, even for super large orders. It's disappointing :(
@Nuyki I suppose I might've come off a little wrong saying it that way. I don't mean to say I expect people to tip, I'm aware it's just a gratuity and it's not required. But there are people who order very often who would still choose to never even leave at least a $1 tip. If you're going to be a frequent customer, it's nice to show you appreciate the workers at least once in a while.
I throw in an extra 5$ to whatever I originally tip now because of gas and what not. To elaborate if I would tip 15 on a delivery in the past; i would throw in an extra 5-10$ to compensate for gas should I order from that place again.
Her talking about the card makes me feel old about delivery driving. Has it really been that long!? Back then, people thought it was just a gimmick to deliver and order food. I quit, I’m not sure about now, but any food delivery company WILL NOT cover your cars mileage (oil change) its not good in the long run. But as a small part time it might be okay. It also helped getting experience talking to people UNTIL apps implemented a no talk button lol.

Boomei
Back in my day Mumei remember
For me, it revealed their age groups, working or studying experiences, family situation, and even their major in college. That helped fans to find their oshi that related closely to their situation.
I love that too
I guess it relates them to us...
they are human. touch grass
* puts on tin foil hat *
She's probably that girl who delivered your food years ago...
th-cam.com/video/TN25ghkfgQA/w-d-xo.html
Let's say, hypothetically, for the sake of the argument....
Imagine ordering something and the one who delivers it to you is a cute owl, what an envy men!
What? Did you not get your letter from Hogwarts?
You're a wizard Harry
A cute Orca
Hedwig bussin
"Finally, my Uber Eats is here."
(Opens bag)
"Wait, where's my McDonalds? This is just Berries!"
GrannyMei telling you her story 'back in her day', listen up kids and be grateful.
GrannyMei: I had to drive FIFTEEN hundred miles in the cold, had to use my own money, and you only would get a tip if your order came from a nice neighborhood. 🦉👵

I expect a " Mumei Eats " fan art after this
Nah it would be Mumei working for TakoEats
Mumei had a very different experience than I did on who tipped well lmao

Her art is definitely worth more than $10 now.
Mumei adds a drawing of a reindeer on the bag at Crishtmas
Me remembers her drawing of Subaru: Oh No
As someone who does food delivery now, Mumei’s experience sounds like a horror story.
Ow what nice surprise my art has made into a thumbnail! I really appreciate you liked it :D
I would just link the art itself though, since I've been posting a bit of unwise drawings lately lol, but anyway thanks!
Delivery driver Mumei. I think this would make a Harry Potter fan squee.
I somehow *knew* that someone would make a Harry Potter joke! 😹
Lol, someone announcing they’re being generous for tipping less than 10%? Sounds like rich people.
Some random guy who got a delivery 5 years ago: Hold up I know this Owl
Mumei: "Back in my day"
Holo Old featuring: Mumei, Marine
That reindeer drawing worth way more than 10$ now
She was a true night owl.
Reminds me of when I did newspaper delivery on my bike when I was a kid. Good Times.
mumei before hololive: "pizza time"
That lady gave a $10 tip on a $160 order and considered that generous enough to announce that she was doing it? That's a 6.25% tip.
I'd wager money that lady is a "hopes and prayers" type of person. The kind of person that racks up a huge bill at a diner and leaves one of those fake $100 bills that's actually a message about Jesus as a tip
Oh God.
She remember something
at last someone noticed something is wrong
Man, she really is an owl if she prefers the evening shift.
My delivery girl is now my Oshi! A light novel

They get paid well, just like in Australia and Europe.
In countries with tip culture, the wage is usually shit in the first place. So service workers gotta be extra nice if they want to get enough money
There is tip, in very rare cases.
Usually, it's considered as rude or insensitive because it's seen as you're judging them. Like, they're not doing enough for you or not working at their best...when they really do.
I live in the UK and no one really tips here
*BACK IN MY DAY*
that lady had exclusive mumei merch and she didnt even realize it lmao
I'm so happy in my country there is no tipping culture. That feels like a pain for the customer and for the employee.
3:23, Of course this is the what's asked in chat.
So someone out there may have a Mumei original art piece on that old paper bag in the back of their pantry.
Uber owl
So she worked at Hogwarts?
Damn, you beat me to it XD
yeah i know how's that feel, because i too once like that
I've waited tables, delivered pizza, worked retail, and the drive-thru.
It's a toss-up between tables and retail for the worst.
Finally her back story...
cute mumei. nice story.
Doordash did used to that, they would have to pay for the order but glad I got in before that.
"Back in my day" Mumei you're like 19
Send Your Cutest Owl!
If I know Meimei is the delivery girl, I'd give her 50$ tip.
Last time I got delivery, the expense of delivery alone brought the total to twice it's cost.
we stan our anti-gig economy queen
just an owl blending in society
Was that kind of system like more than 4-6 years ago? She probably worked when she was very young.
Hmmm i think it implys she's older like atleast late 20s
@@1VETaLEK2 She’s a 4th year college student.
I dont think her mom would let her work that late when she's that young
maybe on highschool since highschool student allowed on part time job at that time well mumei
Uber owl?

back in her day owl can't fly have to use transportation
So Mumei is a Takoeats employee.
Food industry is worse imo, people like their food a specific way and if you don't serve it in a way they've imagined in their minds they get very angry about it.
I've been told a steak is too rare when it was cooked well done, if it was cooked anymore it would be leather, when i tried explaining this they went into full Karen mode
We have uber sheep, we have kfp, we have tako eats and now we have mumei owl food delivery. Hololive should consider making it real lol
iirc KFP was real at some point lol. They had a plan to have food carts in different countries. Sadly I don't remember how successful that plan was, but I think they managed to do it at least partly done.

Isn't she not supposed to remember this?
Где субтитры?(
У нее есть водительские права?
Yes and she has a car too.
Машине я почему-то не так как правам удивлен🤔
