      And it's wonderful that the two greatest living conductors, Ivan and Simon Rattle, have such deep relationships with Mahler.

    I was lucky - as a cello player - to play in a youth orchestra and record to CD this symphony nr 1 in 1987 at ORF in Vienna. It is etched in my soul. Thank you and Mahler.

    There is NO ONE I would trust more to give a a fair-minded, sharply observed and deeply perceptive account of Mahler. The video on the ninth is invaluable.

    Nobody's music moves me more than GM's, and you are fantastic at it.

    Dank maestro, voor deze uitleg. Ik hou van Mahler's muziek, uw uitvoeringen ervan en de toelichting die u hebt gegeven in deze video. overigens: ik hoop dat u een prachtige 70ste verjaardag hebt gehad!

    Fischer's Mahler 1. Horrendous. He makes a complete mess of the finale with that sudden gear change right at the end. It's like his late for his bus home.

      Strongly disagree. I think it's a beautifully played and recorded performance and the ending, while quick, doesn't strike me as hurried or rushed at all
