Of course the execution is somewhat sketchy and quite a few solutions are downright questionable, HOWEVER I want to stress that the basic idea is unquestionably BRILLIANT, this man shows to us all how one CAN maximise his or her available resources to their fullest extent and with virtually no added expense. For those here under - and I am referring to Matti Virta, for one - who are actually poking about trying to spot the whisker hidden in the eggyolk: YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT ! Stop nitpicking and use your head, for a change. This young man is DOING ALL HE CAN with the resources available to him; he is doing it NOW, not just daydreaming about it; he is doing it as swiftly as he practically can, so that he can use it to MAKE SOMETHING ! Thereby proving that he is a DOER, not just a talker or a dreamer, a 'wannabe', a 'am gonna do this...am gonna do that'...sometime...maybe. Sadly I am unable to read whatever it is written ( a sample of my immense ignorance ) so that I cannot mention him by name. I am reasonably certain that he is a young man, from having seen the video. I wish we could meet personally to express my admiration shake his hand and maybe buy him a drink. Are there any defects in this object, any technical faults in the execution ? Are there ever... the fellow is OBVIOUSLY learning...LEARNING BY DOING, by making mistakes, risking of getting hurt maybe, but LEARNING...and TRYING, doing it again..and again. We ALL can learn a precious lesson from him, here; those of us with something between the ears that is... I write this because I'm concerned about your safety. There are many dangerous things about this build, here's the most obvious two: -The RPM on the grinding machine is much too high. -The chisels are not long-shafted gauges and thus can quickly be flinged up if you're not very careful. High RPM is not necessary in order to do wood-turning. Take a look at this video I watched earlier today about pole lathes: th-cam.com/video/i4roT7ohT7I/w-d-xo.html -So please upgrade to a safer machine as soon as you are able to and be careful, because I'd like to see more videos from you.
wery dangerous, metal level need be adjustable, must be same level at lather center, now has too low. and danger too far, must be adjust near how possiple caqn move. and back pin box need plywood back and front have lot stronged.
I find it a little dangerous without height adjustment of the tool rest. You are too far away from the workpiece and the tool should alligned with the axle of the piece. Interesting and a good idea to cover is the Chuck.
Hard to follow the construction of the various components without a view of the completed project. The music repeated a couple of bars over and over and over, and just about drove me nuts.
One comment is to raise your too rest to just below center, the way your have it will "CATCH" because of the aggressive positive ange your presenting to tool to it.
Your rest bench is way too far away from your work and at the wrong angle. Watch videos of an industrial lathe or even a shop bought one, you will see how close you should be to your work.

現状シンプルですごく良いと思います。改造も楽しそうですね。駆動回転数が速いのが 少し難点かと思います。駆動側に電圧調整回路：AC200V ４００ｗ（最大なので１００Vでも使えます）SCR調光器とかの回路アマゾンで５００円以下であるので、砥石側に付けたら、旋盤の駆動速度変えられますよ。（グラインダでバフ研磨に使ってます） センタはこの構造だと回しるうちにちびてくるので、扇風機モータとか（廃品利用で）回ってくれるほうが嬉しいですよね。グランダ兼用なので刃物も研ぎやすそうだし、切り粉も掃除機で吸い取れるようにとか。。。まだまだ改造の余地ありですが、特に回転が速いと、吹っ飛ばしたときに飛んでくるので安全対策にもう少し改造の余地ありですね。（今回はアイデア満載DIYのヒントになる良い動画ですね）

家具屋で加工したい物の長さ的にすごく高価になってしまうので旋盤買うまでもないなぁと思いながら自作を考えています。
モーター部分のパーツ集めが面倒だなぁと思っていた所、この方法がありましたか(^ ^)
ダイニングテーブルの脚を丸脚に加工したくて今まではかんなで半日ぐらいかけて削っていましたがこれは捗りそうですね。
電気カンナかルーターと組み合わせて出来ないかかんがえてみます。ー加工しながらもっと細かい砥石にすれば常に刃も研げるのでいいですね。

ちょぼチャンネル
サンダーとかグラインダーの砥石カバーを外すと火花が変な方に飛んでいく可能性があります。また、なんらかの理由で砥石が割れてしまった時にサンダーを持つ手にそれが当たるのも防いでくれるそうです。
新しく旋盤を作る時は回転速度を調節出来るようにするといいと思います。どうか怪我の無いように気をつけてください。応援しています！
