'' He's definitely achieved Zen '' Forever bronzies always inflate the value of those ''nuggets of wisdom'' that they could find on a fortune cookie too.
Sean has this incredible feeling to his explanation that makes me almost envision his story (in particular Daily #100) as if I was there myself and witnessed the whole thing... Gift of speech: He has it.
Sc2 times still hits close to home... eSports and all that jazz, it's been a decade now. So wild! This sentiment can be applied in all faucets of life, food for thought. Makes sense how split decisions can make or break outcomes. Happy to have met Day 9 and his bro Tasteless. Thanks guys for the best of times
Day9, I have to acknowledge that some stuff coming out of your mouth makes you a great man. A man worth sitting an listening to. thank you for your life work so far.
Wow. I really respect this guy. He's really funny, good at what he does, but I've also seen some awesome nuggets of wisdom from him, and it's really cool to see someone so similar to me that I can respect that much.
I'm just about to graduate as a doctor and this describes an amazing way to deal with intense, stressful situations where performance is demanded of you. Good job day9!
3:10 semi out of body experience. i love it when it happens when gaming sometimes when i play WoW TBC arena really high i feel the same thing. nothing beats that surreal calmness when everything just clicks :) what a treat btw, didn't expect this from the Title xD
Yes, this is exactly it! Atleast how i experience it. It's like your body already knows what to do, and then does it without you having a conscious thought. Sometimes when i play music i feel the same way, i play something and afterwards i think "damn, that sounds really good. I wonder how i did that."
He's talented at communication, but he isn't nearly that good in much else. According to my definition of intelligence, he's lacking at way too many other aspects to be considered a genius. It doesn't help that he's a bit narcissistic. I'd classify him as moderately above average intelligence.
+Aurora Symphony For you to come here, judging and ''classifying'' people for no reason means that you have self confidence issues and you are below average intelligence.
Very interesting. It's a weird feeling going against what your mind and body tells you, especially in such a high pressure situation. It's very hard, when you have to change something that feels so natural. But I think it's a corner-stone to growing up, to learn that there's nothing wrong with ignoring the fear that arises when you're faced with a situation, which is alot harder then too crumble to the pressure.
Don't know why he didn't mention it but he is referring to the experience of being in the zone, where you don't even feel like your doing whatever task it is your doing.
This sounds alot like flow. The scientific explanation of flow, i just read this recently, (and i'm not saying this is 100% true, though it makes sense in my head) is when your Alpha- and Beta-waves are working simoultaneously; even though one is when you're alert and the other when you're relaxed. That's why you're able to do amazing things while in "flow", you're superfocused and completly relaxed at the same time.
This video right here is actually one of the BIGGEST tips to give any advanced player for any video game. "You know when you do a dumb move, and yet you do it!" "Learn to stop doing the dumb thing and you will do great!"
well he won a huge international tournament back when he was still PRO.. yes he did play at a pro level game, but never really saw it through. even tho, i think he has way more fun doing what he does now. :)
Weirdest thing happened, I went to that daily after seeing your comment because I havn't seen it in a while, clicked at a random part in the video (close to the end because I felt like watching a part close to the end) and I starting watching, and he was talking about how we was playing against a protoss player and held off his two gate opening and then "the weirdest thing happened" and I realized... I have randomly skipped to this exact story....1:34:30
Others already said that this is a life lesson, and they are right. What I want to stress here, is that this lesson is gold for anyone who has issues with women. If you're on a date, don't try to impress her, don't try to do something special, freaky or whatever. It's usually the same feeling day9 is describing here, that makes you make mistakes out of insecurity. Stay cool and lay back. You don't need to do a whole lot. Just be there, listen, be emphatic and just be cool. And then, there's a moment where you'll know: I've got her, she's ready. PUA day9 :D
lol... I also have this "Oh I won" feeling sometimes... I remember playing vs TypePhoenix once in a cup which was casted... and I killed his natural hatchery when he was on three base and I had my three base myself as protoss... but my "oh I won" feeling made me supply block myself for the next 2 minutes and just completely freeze and somehow still lose the game -,-´

Sounds like Tunnel Vision, but with all senses expanded to one task
He said once he has watched way more replays and anyone has ever played in games. His entire SC2 career relies on watching and analyzing replays. He was not playing a replay, he was analyzing it....
I took a step back to think about what he is saying and it didn’t make much sense to me. Is he referring to a “fuck it” mode you enter once you sense shit has gone awry? You know, lowkey throwing the match but trying to play it out anyway without trying too hard to course correct? Because you only would _knowingly_ make a mistake if you stopped truly caring about the result. If you actually recognize the move you are about to make is a fault, you sinply wouldn’t do it. This guy is too competitive to not know that. If he’s fucking around in a casual game then yes, he would but not in a tournament. The job and boss example didn’t fit and created confusion.
Came here for the other side of Day [9]'s room, got a life lesson instead.
It's so weird that whoever uploaded this video thought that the part of Day9's room that we don't normally see was the most important part of it.
VMLM3 you dont know that. the title could just be clever
That title was not enough to prepare me for this video.
Amazing mindfulness from Sean even in the most stressful scenarios... He's definitely achieved Zen and attempted to describe it to us here.
Zen... or wen... or... the number... J
'' He's definitely achieved Zen ''
Forever bronzies always inflate the value of those ''nuggets of wisdom'' that they could find on a fortune cookie too.
I'll donate again for a documentary on day9

Facets. All facets of life. I don't feel like I need a zen state to use the bathroom.
@@Ole_Rasmussen lmao my knee jerk reaction is to edit but thats funny so leaving it

An inspiration for us all. You rock Sean!
This is powerful
He tells these stories like The Art of Learning, his favorite book.
10 Years later, I'm watching this Video and I know, it will be sharing it a 1000 times because it holds so much truth and the core of human essance
I bet the person he's talking to is Manfred propped up in a chair.
this is so beautiful on so many levels.

wow, as an athlete i have felt this, running seeing other runners catching you and you go....i am either going to get them or i am going to give up
special "9" key on his keyboard. Love it.

Seems like Sean entered "The Flow" state during that game.
This needs a million views!
(this guy is a genius if anybody doesnt know)
no.

Sean is one of my favourite humans.
Came here for the room...
But it's Day9, I should have known that Jedi Master 9 would give me a lesson.
Has anybody the Link to the whole interview?
Opening this video and seeing Day9's room from the other side is 1000 times better than opening a closet and discovering Narnia!

This video brings to light one of my biggest problems atm. Now I can reflect on it a bit better, and win!
Day9 is an amazing actor
excellente
Day[9] never fails to drop the knowledge bombs
OMG Day9 the source of wisdom!

Playing Starcraft apparently gives you unnatural control over your emotions.
That's the Sean I like.
Please tell me the poster behind the left monitor is a balloon animal folding manual...
sean plott is a jedi knight
Ahh, the Day9 With hair. Rumor has it when he quit playing SC2 a curse was placed upon his scalp. Forever balding until he returns.
the thing with a cord going to it?
Love you Day[9]!
His keyboard is a Daskeyboard, they now sponsor ROOT Gaming as well
damn, gave me the chills
you know the guy watches replays for a living... So its a replay.

PUA day9 :D
+Cybraxas Yeah. Don't go beyond yourself on dates, just be yourself instead of becoming someone else.
Maxwaehrens damn, this IS gold.
....."she's ready"....? Ready for what? Just sounds creepy tbh.
“I’ve got her, she’s ready.” Holy shit this is the creepiest comment of all time.
Not a far stretch because he was a Multiple WCG attender. Nick Plott would also be a contender as well :D!
Litterally changed my life. day9 is such an amazing man. How are we sure he isnt jesus?
Its a control for a bose sound system
Holy shit, he's talking about Testie.
is the round thing under his monitor a weed grinder ? well, that explains a lot.
indeed
shout out to Testie and HoN
Hey Buddy!
Only came here to see the other side of day[9]'s room.
Weird to see the side of his room I have never seen.
lol... I also have this "Oh I won" feeling sometimes... Day 9 for president
Or maybe that's how he felt at that moment? Who are you to judge?
Is that TotalBiscuit on in the back?
This video is WAY too quiet.
...Why is this unlisted?
...Oh, hello, I didn't see you there.
You are the unholy king of overstatements
Oh shit, these are some wise words.
Day9 got to that moment of actualization. xD
what interview thing is this from? like is there more? a start?
When will we be able to watch the whole interview... please?! :D
...his room has another wall? D: with weird pictures at that o.o
is there a full interview?
Is that iNcontroL over the right monitor?
Sounds like he had some sort of spiritual moment thou.
This is gonna help me break out of the brone league
what's up with the little bit at the beginning when he's fake-playing? it just makes the whole thing into a joke. you should edit it out
he is talking of whats known as the zen state.
what is this?
You've discovered the great storyteller: Day[9]. check out his streams sometime.
Power Forth oh no, i like day 9 only this was litle bit diferent
It's apart of an interview series on a bunch of pro Star Craft players.
